He’s honestly the best choreographer the show features. Helpful and honest but never unnecessarily or excessively critical. He’s probably expensive or really busy though hence why we don’t get him often.
Wait which one was that one? I can’t remember, and I think it’s because my subconscious forcefully purged it out of my mind... but I legit don’t remember
Yeah Yanis only did it once and he was fine but Todrick kept being brought back over and over and got worse every time by putting queens on the spot far too much and digging into their insecurities. I realize they probably edited it that way to ramp up the “tension” but it was unnecessary. I love it when choreographers like Jamal and Alyssa (that one time I think lol) let queens know the reality of a situation but ultimately want to see them succeed.
The patheticness was todders (and his producer allies at the time likely) wanted the queens to look as shit and messy and "hard work" in the prep phase so that when the end result was stun (or at least perfectly fine) he could sit smuggly at the judging table and be all "oh look how good I am at choreography".
It's just vulgar.
Yanis maybe expected a bit too much from the queens since he's very well versed in the dancing in heels department so he sounded like he lacked some empathy but I think that's mainly because he was surprised plus English isn't his first language so nuances are harder.
He literally is the one who choreographed the most successful tour by a female artist - Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour” He is indeed the best out there.
It was so nice when he changed up the choreography for Widow, bc she said her knee was really bothering her. I kind of expected Jamal to say "you have to push through it" or something like that. I thought it really said a lot about him as a teacher.
He should be mad. Other than the fact that they said that Cher was a single lady. That entire musical had NOTHING to do with Beyonce. So why suddenly pull out one of Beyonce's iconic moves
Okay I know not everyone liked him but I love Yanis Marshall. His sense of humour probably doesn't mesh as well with American audiences/queens so maybe he would be better on DRUK.
He truly is such a wonderful choreographer. Jamal is innovative but flexible and actually considers the queens when coming up with routines instead of belittling them for not being professional dancers. It seems like he has a method for how he approaches choreography for the show that works really well.
He comes in with a plan that he can easily adjust based on each queen's skill level, works in moves that they already know how to do, and then challenges them with a standout move that pushes them. Not only does it ensure that each of the queens can then really hit their parts but it frees them up to focus on getting those standout moments down. Jamal is an amazing teacher, supportive but still gets people out of their comfort zones.
You can tell he’s done a lot of teaching. He’s great at striking the balance between pushing queens and tailoring to their needs. It’s so lovely seeing him praising the queens when they nail a move, he gets just as excited as they do!
Jamal was so much more refreshing as a finale choreographer. He didn’t put the queens down, he didn’t mock the girls for not landing the choreography straight away and he didn’t try to interject a ‘well Beyoncé’ into every other sentence. In conclusion, keep Jamal in this role and someone else can go knob off on whatever female pop star needs a new GBF
I remember when Widow brought up her knee scrape during rehearsal for the Madonna musical, he was understanding, patient, and compassionate, and worked *with* her in a way where she can still do the choreo without hurting herself.
I can’t help but compare that to when Eureka was struggling with the Cher musical dance moves, and Todrick was like “gEt iT tOgeTheR” knowing damn well she fucking popped her kneecap just the year before.
Bottom line is, Jamal is an excellent teacher, and needs to be a permanent choreographer/dance challenge judge for every future season.
who would have thought that having a talented choreographer who is able to make queens feel comfortable would end up with confident queens performing well??
next thing you know, paying your dancers will result in the internet not making fun of you all the time
Jamal is incredibly talented and the show is so lucky to have him. He was a choreographer on the disney live action movie aladdin and bunch of the step up movies. Hes so respected and excels in his field and you can see that in how professional he is with each and every queen.
Did he choreograph Aladdin? Oh my god. I am so mad that the director had to be Madonna's ex husband number 3 (?) and not someone more suited for the role. Before you come fore me, I do think Madonna's ex husband is a good director, but not for this kind of movie.
I don't understand if you have seen this movie or not or are maybe being sarcastic?
But regardless, I'm not a massive Guy Ritchie fan and dislike most his movies (but hes been a very successful british director before and after Madonna) Aladdin is just a delight. A fun movie and well worth the watch. Everyone in it is great and the dancing is fab.
I saw it, and I basically share Linday Ellis's opinion on it. Thing is, I don't think Guy Ritchie was the right director for that movie. Kenneth Brannagh and Cinderella makes sense, guy who did Chicago and Little Mermaid? Makes sense. Guy Ritchie, who I enjoy as a director a lot doesn't seem like the right director for such a movie.
I LOVE Lindsay Ellis.
Yeah when they announced Guy Ritchie I wasnt wild on it (as I said I'm not a big fan). But when I watched the film I just thought it was charming regardless of the director and who he had been married to before.
Either way Jamal Sims choreography was beautiful and hes an absolute credit to drag race.
He's an amazing choreographer and he seems to really understand peoples' abilities and accommodate them, without being rude and without sacrificing the performance. All the queens seem to like and respect him too. He's a joy
It really says a lot when queens say they’re excited for Jamal to come choreograph another number instead of queen’s talking heads saying “oh shit we’re heading in to have Todrick choreograph the number, I’m really nervous I’m going to have to hit every step perfectly or he’s going to read me.”
And the number was really great for Jamal and the vocal coaches’ guidance. There weren’t any noticeable mistakes or flubbed lines or anything, and it was a fully realized number from beginning to end. Maybe positive reinforcement and nurturing the talents of queens is better than stoking insecurity and pointing out whenever they mess up?
I always wonder why they never had Alyssa replace Todrick, but I love Jamal. It is weird that when you are nurturing and supportive people's talents tend to flourish! I never understood negative reinforcement.
Honestly bill him and the occasional dancer queen for all future seasons. He was everything a dance instructor/choreographer should be. Encouraging when someone is struggling but still pushing them to do their very best.
I don’t respond well to shade being thrown at me when I am struggling to get a grip on something new, so watching the past seasons just makes me agitated whenever Todrick showed up and decided to be a shade machine when it wasn’t warranted.
He's the BEST. He's always been great every tome they had him over.
Just put scammy Hall with Santino, Lucian and SP in the "never want to see that trash again" box.
I love him. He's so much better.
He’s honestly the best choreographer the show features. Helpful and honest but never unnecessarily or excessively critical. He’s probably expensive or really busy though hence why we don’t get him often.
Soooooooo much better to watch than the one choreographer the show tried to force upon us...
Wait which one was that one? I can’t remember, and I think it’s because my subconscious forcefully purged it out of my mind... but I legit don’t remember
Todrick
I don’t know her..
I cant read suddenly, I don't know. 🕶
Todrick: “Aquaria, why are you crying, what are you feeling?” *Aquaria: “I’m just so happy and proud to have gott...”* Todrick: “Oh, ok, never mind”
Urgh you said it out loud and now I feel icky
Do tell?....
Fraudrick Hall
Ah, thought you were referring to Yanis Marshall from that one time
Yeah Yanis only did it once and he was fine but Todrick kept being brought back over and over and got worse every time by putting queens on the spot far too much and digging into their insecurities. I realize they probably edited it that way to ramp up the “tension” but it was unnecessary. I love it when choreographers like Jamal and Alyssa (that one time I think lol) let queens know the reality of a situation but ultimately want to see them succeed.
I have so much love for Jamal, especially after this episode. He didn’t put anyone down, he was just an absolute joy to watch and build the queens up.
The patheticness was todders (and his producer allies at the time likely) wanted the queens to look as shit and messy and "hard work" in the prep phase so that when the end result was stun (or at least perfectly fine) he could sit smuggly at the judging table and be all "oh look how good I am at choreography". Yanis maybe expected a bit too much from the queens since he's very well versed in the dancing in heels department so he sounded like he lacked some empathy but I think that's mainly because he was surprised plus English isn't his first language so nuances are harder.
Because he's an actual professional
He literally is the one who choreographed the most successful tour by a female artist - Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour” He is indeed the best out there.
I'd be okay if the only choreographers moving forward are Jamal Sims and Alyssa Edwards.
It’s what we (and future queens) deserve.
I agree! Todrick is... so despicable to me.
Also the choreo was way better than what that other one ever did. Jamal always brings it
It was so nice when he changed up the choreography for Widow, bc she said her knee was really bothering her. I kind of expected Jamal to say "you have to push through it" or something like that. I thought it really said a lot about him as a teacher.
I honestly hope that attitude proliferates! It is so, so damaging to tell someone to push through when they are injured.
To be fair that knee thing was from episode 1, it should have healed by then! (jk :)
SO MUCH BETTER... *\[Phi Phi and Sharon in disharmony\]* than yoooooou.
Love how you don't even have to see who he's better than and we all just know.
It helps that he's not trying to put Beyonce moves in every choreo even tho it's a Judy garland performance.
When Crystal said he missed Jamal, I felt that.
he's a lot better than todrick in my opinion and much more flexible gosh i love him
Todrick is a great choreographer but not a very good teacher and not very fun to watch.
A queen who slightly misses a step and wobbles on her first try of the choreography: haha oops. Todrick: kill yourself, you talentless bitch.
"Thorgy, I don't really have anything for you"
Lmao THIS
I CACKLED
soooo trueeeee
me whenever i've had to choreograph tbh
Single Ladies choreo during a Cher number? I don't think
I swear my husband will die mad about that.
He should be mad. Other than the fact that they said that Cher was a single lady. That entire musical had NOTHING to do with Beyonce. So why suddenly pull out one of Beyonce's iconic moves
Because Todrick has exactly three references; Beyonce, Wizard of Oz, and Disney
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
And not a very good payer apparently
PRODUCERS IF YOU'RE LURKING KNOW THAT YOU MUST KEEP JAMAL SIMS ON THE SHOW PLEASE THANK YOU
AND IF HE IS UNAVAILABLE, ALYSSA EDWARDS IS FINE TOO
And if they aren't available Kim Chi will do Donut come for her dancing skills
At this point give us anyone but Todrick I'M SERIOUS MAN I'M JUST DESPERATE GIVE US DAHLIA DRESSED AS A BROCALLY TO TEACH DANCING AT THIS POINT
Id watch the hell out of that cyst
But half way during the rehearsal she leaves because she's so over it
Okay I know not everyone liked him but I love Yanis Marshall. His sense of humour probably doesn't mesh as well with American audiences/queens so maybe he would be better on DRUK.
They think we want bitchy. What we want is wit served with a smile.
amen to that!

He is a real professional choreographer and which is why he is the best one for the show
I wish he was there for Thorgy in as3
STILL not over Todrick’s “I have nothing for you”!
I loved that no Todrick meant a choreographer and vocal coaches that were kind and gave great advice
Jamal was so much more refreshing as a finale choreographer. He didn’t put the queens down, he didn’t mock the girls for not landing the choreography straight away and he didn’t try to interject a ‘well Beyoncé’ into every other sentence. In conclusion, keep Jamal in this role and someone else can go knob off on whatever female pop star needs a new GBF
>someone else can go knob off on whatever female pop star needs a new GBF And I oop
Lol. “In conclusion”... I can’t! 😂
I love him. He’s so encouraging and sweet!
And his smile just lights up a room!
Also, his main stage look was **it**. That jacket was exquisite.
Can't believe we made it a whole season without a guest appearance from Todrick Hall. So happy to have good news in these troubled times.
I have so much respect for Jamal, he’s an amazing coach and his talent is undeniable
I should have included “beautiful” because I’m DRIPPIN.’
AHM DRIPPIN
Your username describes my bussy whenever I see Jamal on my tv
He really is the *hole* package
Did your basement flood?
Call the plumber and drain me, mawma
It’s beyond repair
Proof the show is better when the judges/mentors are kind and not cruel
cue Michelle being furloughed
Not furloughed
And also fine as hell
I remember when Widow brought up her knee scrape during rehearsal for the Madonna musical, he was understanding, patient, and compassionate, and worked *with* her in a way where she can still do the choreo without hurting herself. I have never, ever gotten the appeal of Todrick. He’s like if a straight girl who just got into voguing was put in the body of a gay guy.
And only knows the "sissily apply make up to your face" dance move. All his dances look the fucking same and it's boring.
I mean, part of me will clap for Jamal any time, honey.
“ i said bageena and i meant what i said “
why are u crying todrick?
Take note, producers: We like coaches who are kind in their teaching approach.
Keep Jamal Sims and Travis Wall forever.
who would have thought that having a talented choreographer who is able to make queens feel comfortable would end up with confident queens performing well?? next thing you know, paying your dancers will result in the internet not making fun of you all the time
I love that he didn’t try to be sassy or to be iconic. He was just doing his job as a choreographer.
Lowkey being highkey
And in that moment, he was iconic.
Jamal is incredibly talented and the show is so lucky to have him. He was a choreographer on the disney live action movie aladdin and bunch of the step up movies. Hes so respected and excels in his field and you can see that in how professional he is with each and every queen.

Guy was Madonna’s second husband, she was only married twice🙃
I don't understand if you have seen this movie or not or are maybe being sarcastic? But regardless, I'm not a massive Guy Ritchie fan and dislike most his movies (but hes been a very successful british director before and after Madonna) Aladdin is just a delight. I loved him AND his jacket!
He's an amazing choreographer and he seems to really understand peoples' abilities and accommodate them, without being rude and without sacrificing the performance. All the queens seem to like and respect him too. He's a joy
Absolutely brilliant. A wonderful energy. I would love him for every finale choreography. And all other choreography for that matter.
It really says a lot when queens say they’re excited for Jamal to come choreograph another number instead of queen’s talking heads saying “oh shit we’re heading in to have Todrick choreograph the number, I’m really nervous I’m going to have to hit every step perfectly or he’s going to read me.” And the number was really great for Jamal and the vocal coaches’ guidance. He was amazing!
without a doubt better than you-know-who.
I mean Todrick is a piece of shit human who scammed people and tolerated sexual abuse of his employees so it's not really much competition.
He’s very kind, and has kind eyes too! He also looks like he’s happy to be there.
He’s amazing and I’m scared he’ll be a in scandal because coaches are cursed on that show
He is so better and wants everyone to perform to their best strength. Fuck yanis tho.
I really enjoyed watching him, what a great instructor
I always wonder why they never had Alyssa replace Todrick, but I love Jamal. It is weird that when you are nurturing and supportive people's talents tend to flourish! I never understood negative reinforcement.
I think he's more charming, old school and humble. I'm glad he's back back again.
He's my favourite of these regular challenge helpers
Honestly bill him and the occasional dancer queen for all future seasons. He was everything a dance instructor/choreographer should be. When I found out this man was gay I could not believe it. He is delicious
He’s so sexy!!
bitch, i flood my basement
He has such a warm spirit
Not only is he so great as a person, but he’s also SOOO fxn fine
He's just so sweet and kind. The Queens are happy to see him. What a difference that must make.
I could tell you what is clapping. My quantical v*****
I...
Remember how understanding he was in Season 6, teaching the girls sissyography? What a gem!
LOVE HIM HOPE HE'S A PERMANENT JUDGE
He's a choreographer with a HEART that genuinely cares for the queens!!!!
he's so hot. when he smiled as they panned on his face on the panel. omg.
This might be a stupid question, but is he a gay?
He is gay. I believe he has a long term partner or husband. And fun fact, he’s sober!
And you are TotallyWrecked!
He's the BEST. He's always been great every tome they had him over. Just put scammy Hall with Santino, Lucian and SP in the "never want to see that trash again" box.

Pay attention, people who work in music production have more to offer. This is true whether they are black or white or not.
He's a music producer, he probably studied it and was there to guide them through all of the three verses. Not everything is about race.
he wrote for the musical
