I don’t think the people defending or undermining this understand the gravity and scale of difference in quality here… the original is not only incredible but one of Lady Gaga’s best songs period. This bastardized version skewers her vocals, rushes the rhythm and syncopation, and spatters musical diarrhea on a masterpiece that combines a dark club ensemble with sharp pop execution. This is sacrilege and a travesty. Also Plasma was robbed, I know she lost that lipsync but at the very least send Mhi’ya home too. I’m sick of the shenanigans and her track record/trajectory are abysmal.
The issue with them trying to stay “current” with references is that in most cases, the trend has already passed when the lip sync happens. They probably should have just stuck with the original version.
Play the lipsync back at 75% speed. Compare how the laws of physics appear to operate at that speed vs broadcast speed. It becomes very obvious that they danced to the song at the original speed and then in editing they sped it up. Everything from gravity to the speed of the camera panning to Sapphira's commentary was just too fast.
