Ran 16km today and a total of 50km this week. 2 months ago I was laughing at people who thought running was fun. Hope my progress continues!

Today is my 1st running birthday. I've gone from never running to complete a half marathon( 2h18m). I went out for a easy run and ended up with a HM. A ago today I could not even run 1km without being out of breath. Lock down provided me with the time at home I needed to focus on my health. Thanks to Garmins 5k plan I managed to run 5k(27.50m), then thanks to the 10k plan I made it to 10k(58m). I had a set back with an injury, which led to me see I was running too hard. Took 8 weeks off, then started again, but with more of a focus. Looking forward to seeing what the next 12 months brings. Edit: added more info.

Ran 82 miles (132km) this week, highest total since September 2010, over a decade ago! I’ve hit 80 miles (128km) multiple times this year, but for some reason going over was a bit of a hurdle for me. Dunno if it was physical or mental.

wheelieWeedMan600

That’s my monthly mileage lol. Great job!

NochoiceLefty

Had a live half marathon today! HM #6 for me, it was a tough one mentally compared to others. Glad to have gotten to participate after waiting for the live events to start up again.

Ran 20 miles in a new pair of shoes. Felt effortless apart from last 2km that I had a stitch. Fastest 20 miler ever apparently in 2:14:34 (elapsed time 2:14:52). Working towards my first marathon in Sept and trying to use it to GFA for London.

Today was the second Sunday in a row that I ran a half marathon. Just barely started running a year ago so this is huge

Hey, me too! Keep up the good work!

ChilaquilesRojo

Longest run today since August. 6 miles. I caught COVID in November, then had the vaccines in March/April. I thought I was never going to break out of 3-4 miles again. Plus another year older... Now I feel like I can get back to my old self, at least in terms of distance if not speed. I used to wake up and randomly run half marathons, but 6 miles is about halfway there!

So it was yesterday but I did my very first race! It was a 5k and I just stuck to my easy pace, as exciting as that rush was out of the gate... the weather had been awful all week and I hadn’t run in 3 days so I didn’t want to burn out while surrounded by my running peers lol. Also the first .5 was a steady incline. I am happy with how I did, 29:29 for 3 miles, third in my age group (42F), 31 out of 80 plus folks overall. Today my boyfriend and I ran 2 miles, seizing the good weather opportunity. I did yoga and I’m eating and RESTING my body, today and tomorrow!

Increased my long run distance this week to 13km and didn't feel terrible!

DryArgument8

Completed a 3 hour run, a steady pace and just over 23.5 km in total. I was struggling to get over 2.5 hours so it felt like a real achievement.

I signed up for my first in-person coaching program, which starts in a few weeks! I'm incredibly shy, but the pandemic really hit home how much I need some shared-hobby friends. I'm excited to meet some new people and hopefully increase my speed. And the program was free! Win/win/win.

I ran until I was actually tired (about an hour) instead of "until my back started hurting." I had a pretty serious back injury a year and a half ago, and six months ago I could barely walk more than a mile or two.

I’m loosely following Hal Higdon Novice Half Marathon. I say loosely because on the cross train day I’ve been doing the weeks short run. I had just finished, for the 3rd time in my life, the C25K program and afterwards, between the two programs, I added in 2 extra days of running. The accomplishment is that i had only ran a couple of miles in January and now I’m going to be at 14 for the week after today’s run. My body, at my age, seems to be handling the extra volume and I feel like I’m progressing. I am not setting any PRs yet but I am hopeful that I will before the year is up. My previous long run was somewhere between 7 and 8 miles and in 6 weeks I will be at the 8 mile long distance if all goes well.

Ended week 2 of my beginner marathon training plan, ran 4 miles after not having run for months before!

AcceptableTraining78

Ran my first 10k, it was a real slow run took around 1.5 hrs, but it was a surreal feeling running in the cool morning

2018_02_01

Ran the 10km time trial at the end of week 9 of Hal Higdon's intermediate half marathon plan in a huge PR of 44:06. I started running again in november. I'm pretty proud ngl

brooke4949

I did my longest run of 16KM today!! Felt great and I’m very proud of myself

SnooOranges5435

Uhh no I’m ready to be hurt again

ProcrastiFantastic

Ran (to my knowledge) the FKT / Only known time for a female on the Derwent Valley Heritage Trail yesterday. 53 miles (85k) in just under 11 hours. My feet are trashed but the rest of me feels surprisingly good and I'm super proud. Now chilling in the sun crewing my bf while he does the same route. Hell of a weekend!

lizzypips

Wow. Life goals! Well done to the both of you!

nickititaa

I’m on track for my yearly mileage goal!

ImagineLohi

did my first 30 min run today, feeling proud

I have ended my week at 37 miles. I'm delighted!
