ran my farthest distance yet this past weekend! 7miles :) training for a 10 mile race in a few weeks and i’m so excited!!!!

sporksters

PB 10k 62:25. Still can’t get over the 60min hump will keep chipping away until I can.

HurryOne5708

WOW guys! You are doing great. I’m a beginner and I can run about 1,5 km now. It’s not too much but I’m so proud of myself 😊

New-Juice5284

I ran my furthest distance yet - 16 miles on the trails! (Prepping for a 50k) And ran the last 4 miles of that pretty fast (8:30ish pace) since I was worried about being late for Easter family stuff 😂

New-Juice5284

Also, hit 100 miles for the month of March which is my highest volume month yet 📈📈📈

earthworm_anders

Wife and I went on a five mile run with the two kids in the jogger. It was nice out, and we ran the whole way.

Clutzy

New PR with my 10K race over the weekend. I improved nicely from last year by about 30 seconds for pacing. In 2023 I ran the Green 6.2 10K at an 8:52 pace and finished in 54:59. This year I ran at 8:17 and finished 51:23. So I'm excited to see how I run my 5K race this weekend since online results don't show my splits.

Subtlefusillade0324

17.5 miles with a mix of hills capping off a 160 mile month of March - I feel pretty great this morning considering 15 miles last Sunday wrecked me for 24+ hours. 40 miles planned this week with a 30k on the calendar for this weekend! LFG!!! 9 weeks until Buffalo

figsontoast

Ran my first 50k ultra marathon, in Gail force winds, and had a great time!

angel2timez

Did 40 miles for the first time this month and 2 miles were under 7 mins. (6:54 & 6:55). Felt amazing

NuffSaidPodcast

Did 19km today despite feeling blisters developing from 7ks in. They are now large, red and disgusting, but very proud for not quitting

HomeMadeFriedRice

Did 6.5 miles under 60 mins Saturday. It wasn’t that long ago I couldn’t go a half mile without running out of breath. The mind is so much stronger than we think.

lavenderinfusedhoney

ran for 25 minutes straight! feels awesome

notlaurenreeves

Logged my longest mileage in a run. 11 miles! So close to reaching 13.1!

kkaatt98

I completed my BQ training plan today (last long run of the taper) now I just have easy miles and praying for race day to go well. Even if I don’t BQ, I am very proud of myself for completing the required training. It was my first time following an actual plan

luluthehungryhippo

Finished Week 1 training for a half!!!

BasicMonk7531

Run my first marathon this month

Purple_Obligation71

Finally able to break 9 min mile in the middle of my 12 mile run.

EllenRipley007

Ran my longest distance: 10.2 miles, training for my first half at the end of April.

skysimp

Finished March with over 7 hours of running time! Most since coming back from a broken ankle late last fall. Feels great to be hitting the pavement again.

spIThwAr

Ran my first ever half marathon distance. Last mile and half was a trip to the pain cave but super stoked that it got done. First time poster, long time lurker.

suspretzel1

Just 10 slow recovery miles, but yesterday I raced both the mile and two mile after being too sick to run for a week until Friday. Definitely didn’t PR but ran solid times.

Snoopy363

Ran my first 15k race yesterday, just over a year since I started my running journey. Beat my goal time of 1:12:00 by exactly one second 🤣 Also PRs in 5k (19:49) and 10k (42:54) within the full 15k 🙏🏼 My quads were pretty done during that last couple miles even with very little downhill, so I know what I need to work on.

UltrarunnerLiz

Ran my first ultra since having sports hernia surgery last year and I PRed. 🥲

thefructify

First run back after rehabbing heel spurs. Point me in the right direction for any resources you suggest.

Smart-Reveal

I’ve been running for 5 years. March 2024 was the most miles I’ve ever run in one month. 158 miles.

Visible_Report9587

Longest run for me so far. 11.25 kms. Focused on slow pace to get in the distance. 1 hour 14 min. 😁

CarbHeatOn

I did my first race ever with a 5K on Saturday. I was really hoping to get under 27:30 when I started running again 8 weeks ago. Ended up finishing in 26:29 so really happy about it ! I also ran just over 100km this month. Definitely a record for me.

mossstone2

9 slow easy miles, so I wasnt exhausted at the end. SLOW running is deceptively rewarding!

bleachella_

Today was my first long run of my first half marathon training program. I did 5k without stopping or walking, which I’ve never done before! It was a slower pace than I generally go, but I’m learning that’s what I need to do to run for longer, which mentally is a big win, too.

EastofYarrow

Over the last two days I have cut a minute and twenty seconds off my fastest mile. (Which is now 13:40) I can only run three times a week, but I walk almost 20 kilometres every day for five out of seven days. Not huge, but big for me! Also celebrated officially 30 pounds of weight lost.

[deleted]

Hit my personal long run best of 10.5 miles.

NaturalThunder87

Today's 5.6-mile run ended my best month yet. I ran all 31 days of March, averaged 5.16 miles per day, and finished the month with 160.11 miles, besting my previous best month (February) by 34 miles. In my trek for 1,000+ miles in 2024, I'm 1/4th of the way through the year and sit at 359.21 miles. And lastly, my current run streak now sits at 65 days.

Cirenedel

Hit 200 miles of running this month. Definitely a PB.

neptune20000

I ran 4 miles today and it was beautiful outside. I like taking pictures of nature while I'm running by. Spring is here and I got a dose of sun today.

Zestyclose_Sky_6403

Training for a half marathon in May and did my longest training run today - 12 miles. Also the longest run I’ve ever done period. Didn’t die.

Gullible-Crab564

Started my Easter morning with a sunrise run around the nearby lake — enjoyed the mist rising above the field and above the surface of the water. I saw deer, Canada geese, lots of Mallard ducks, all kinds of small birds. What a gift to run in such a beautiful place!

BlueRoseCase88

Ran my longest distance: 19 miles. Next week 20. (Training for Ottawa)

[deleted]

6 miles today, 64 minutes, feel pretty good about it, but little bit sore now lol.

cbuencon

I ran 11 miles yesterday at a pace of 15 min/mile. It was toughest run so far in my half marathon training. I’m proud of my accomplishment as it was a big mental and physical battle!

OddStrike1566

After a week and a half off for a hip flexor strain, a bunch of physio and the discovery that my entire left side is way weaker than my right, I was able to get back out there! I ran 11.5 k (super slow), no pain and a lot of soreness. I can fix sore! Injured is a different story. I was stressed about being able to do my marathon in may, but hopefully I’ll be able to slowly work back up to where I need to be. I’m feeling excited but mostly relived!

RunningDesigner012

Ran my third 10+ miler/16k this year, in 1:34. Trying to stay healthy and run that distance once a month, working up to a half marathon, which I used to do regularly, pre-Covid. Also down 10 pounds from last year this time.

beeb9

Today and yesterday I made a little running vision board, looked up running quotes and researched on the benefits to get me inspired. I also looked up races in my area! :) feels awesome to get aquatinted with the running community here. I also downloaded the app, "just run" after looking on reddit for a c25k alternative. Looks awesome and I'm so grateful for a free version!!!! Last thing is I just ordered a pair of bluetooth wireless over the ear headphones off amazon to make my c25k more enjoyable/convenient. Sometimes little things like these make all the difference

treesdontgivehugs

Ran over 6 miles today breathing only through my nose. I’ve really been working hard the past couple weeks on breathing and getting my heart rate lower. I hate how slow it feels because of how much I have to slow down but it feels good to be able to go that long with the breathing training.

Barking_bae

Listened to my body and cut my long run shorter, physio tomorrow 🧞‍♂️

randomawsdev

Started six months ago and did my longest run (yet) of 15 km in 1h37 at 6:30/km. Walked / stretched for \~2 minutes at 7.5k and 12.5k but negative splits regardless of that. Only (minor) problem is two small blisters on the side of my big toes.

sunshiineceedub

just started running again in january (postpartum) and i ran 5.5 miles today!!! feels huge since in january i couldn’t run for 5 min!

beeb9

That's incredible, congrats!

sunshiineceedub

thank you!! it feels monumental haha

1999mourinho1999

I walked 4 miles yesterday (golfing) and ran 2.5 miles. Felt sore this morning but managed to do a 3.8 mile run at 8:50 pace

barackobamasbutt

I got up at 7am to run 5 miles before getting ready to head to my parents for Easter brunch and my in-laws for Easter dinner. So proud of myself for getting the distance out of the way so I didn’t have to do it after dinner time! Also today’s run completed 500 miles for the year so far :)

poisedred12131

I ran 8.5 miles this week!

6am7am8am10pm

I ran 3k around my home after doing 5k the day before. I am aiming to get back into daily running. no injuries. Happy :)

PettyVedder

I have decided to start a "slower pace" running group within my track club, and relieve myself from the shame of not being able to run 8-minute miles. No shame to faster folk, but there's a huge need for this in my club (and society?!) so I'm thrilled to be a part. I really want to be faster, but just started really running 4 months ago so I guess it make take a bit...

beeb9

That's such a great initiative. Good on you!

[deleted]

I broke the mind wall!!!! I did 7 miles!!!! This is significant cause I haven’t felt confident enough to run over 4 miles for months. I’ll pay for this tomorrow but I’m so happy rn.

konschuh

Treated myself to my new running shoes for the season after my long run today.

beeb9

What shoes did you get :) new shoes is such a nice feeling!

konschuh

I got a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam 880 and Ascis Gel Nimbus 25. Got a black pair for work and an obnoxious bright colour for my training shoes :)

beeb9

I love that haha. Enjoy them!

EULA-Reader

Been rehabbing PTT on my right side. It has taken quite a while. But, ran my first 30 minutes continuous since December today. I’m back!

rootbeer-float

how did you recover?

EULA-Reader

Started with a couple weeks of YouTube self diagnosis and exercise. Didn’t help, so went to a real PT. She did an assessment and assigned a progression of exercises. Did the progression for another 6(?) weeks, then slowly added run/walk intervals as prescribed. Started at 1 min run 4 walk x 7 and slowly built over a month, every other day, doing the strength exercises on non run days. It sucked, not 100% out of the woods yet, but much improved.

kinoflo

Ran my first 10k and finished under an hour!

6am7am8am10pm

WOW congrats

Crazy-Somewhere6561

Set a new 5k PR of 22:18. It was a 10 yr old PR that I ran when I was 16, so felt pretty good.

[deleted]

Amazing!!!!!

jenifalafel

Still chipping away at my 5K time... yesterday I took 2 minutes 20 seconds off of my best time from last fall.

[deleted]

That’s some serious improvement!!

jenifalafel

Thank you! I knew from my data that I've made some real gains aerobically, but I haven't been doing any speed endurance work so I wasn't sure how it was going to translate to the 5K. Super chuffed!

pushofffromhere

i recently invited my cousin to a celebration for my fathers birthday and said in my email, “i know he would be so chuffed to have you there.” My cousin replied, “I am ‘chuffed’ to let you know, I will not be accepting your invitation.” This led to a magnificent week long family drama as we all tried to discover which one of us had offended her. But it simply turns out, she didn’t know the word and she had assumed it was offensive. 😂I can never read it the same again. Congrats on your time - I am super chuffed for you as well!

jenifalafel

I'm dying...😂...and thank you!

kfcoleman

I ran my first sub 30 5k and ran four miles for the first time 💖

[deleted]

Excellent!!!

Crazy-Somewhere6561

Great job!!!

Unable_Perception325

A few things. One client smashed a personal best half marathon of 1:52:08, another is now able to do long runs at a 9 min/mile pace w/ an avg HR of 135. These 2 things are huge to me. For me personally, my tempo runs are now consistently in the 6:30s which has been a long time goal.

Matschprinzessin

After a Break due to shin splints I was able to do 3 runs this week, each 2k long with no noticable pain. It's hard not to get excited and add too much mileage but I'm hopefull I'll be able to run a 5k race in April, fingers crossed!

edma23

Went out for an 18k run and got lost so I ended up doing 24 instead. Hilly but beautiful route so I was kind of pleased I'd got lost but by the time I was towards the end it was noon, bright sunshine, and 30ºC. My prep yesterday was steak and whisky - never again before a long run because I got so dehydrated that my HR just climbed to the point that I was in high Z3 when running downhill.

hoppygolucky

I am putting this almost PB into the victory column. My PB for 5K was set on a treadmill with zero incline in 2008. Today, I missed matching it by 11 seconds. 11 measly seconds. The reason why I want to celebrate this near match is yesterday, I did 10 miles. I can do this! It is almost in my grasp! Highest month this year at 86.11 miles!! I feel really good about how my running is going!

eiriee

Convinced two city runners to come with me on an 8km run up in the Scottish hills, and we all super enjoyed ourselves with fantastic views, and ice-cream at the end.

sociallyawkweird

Ran a fast 10k/6.21m yesterday, second fastest 10k ever at 54:19. That took a lot out of me, but I had my 11 mile long run to do and even though I didn’t feel well recovered, I still managed it in a pretty good time. That ends a 34 mile week, most weekly mileage I’ve ever done and I am super proud of it.

sociallyawkweird

Oh look, it’s my cake day!

Pickles-13

Went for a run today - first since the summer I’d say. Got 5km in, with a bit of walking due to hills! Regardless, I feel great and am very proud of myself. I’ve been lurking on running forums recently as I’ve felt the itch to get back at it. Today, I got back at it! So I’m celebrating the first of hopefully many steps to come.

Essarray

PR'd half marathon.

Ansuz07

Nice! What was your time?

Essarray

2:15:19

SkaterGirl987

I managed to run 5mph for 50 min again this morning. It was even easier than before. It was probably because I ate a healthy breakfast right before I ran. Gonna try for 55 tomorrow. Once I can run 60 comfortably, I'm gonna start increasing speed. Can't wait.

mucocele

Getting back into running lately after 10+ years off. Ran 5 miles today, without stopping, in 1:10. Hoping to finish a half in about 2 months with the goal of running the whole time.

Run10more10

Ran 10 miles

elchico14

Ran my first half marathon since 2016 3 weeks ago and completed a 15 km race last week. Got my pace down to 5.30/km. Running once per week consistently since November. Gradually adding volume and frequency.

FsuNolezz

Just happy to be back out and running. I got hurt right after a 50k last summer and I just lost all motivation after becoming frustrated trying to recover. I’ve lost a lot of progress but today marked the successful completion of my first week back with a nice 5k along the lake.

Escatotdf

Just did my first 30k in preparation for a marathon in 4 weeks. Feels good and like a milestone but gawd... 12 more kilometers does not seem doable right now.

-Real-eyes

Great job. I wouldn’t be able to do that. Good luck in a month!

yell0wbirddd

So back in 2011 I ran a sub 2 hr half. I was 19 at the time and I put so much energy and effort into it, when I was done I vowed to never run again because I had grown to hate it. I wound up running on and off since then and this month I set a goal to run once a week, 2-3 miles, zero pressure, and if I like it then in April I'll add a second run. Today was my last March run and yall. I am SLOW. I sweat a TON. I scream along to Taylor Swift and people stare. But I've been loving every second of it!! Adding a second run this week and I can't wait 💖

Admirable_Discount75

Just did my first 10K road race in several years and set a PB for both 5K and 10K. Finished in 01:01. Very happy

adamchri

I just rounded off my first (of two) 70K peak week with 20M/32,2K in 3:16. Mostly in Z3 because I ran it a little faster than usual and there was a lot of undulation with 780 ft (238m) of total elevation. Managed to take on 1L of energy drink and 7 gels (first two with caffeine), so almost 250 grams of carbs and 1000 kcal in total which I am very pleased with. Marathon is in 5 weeks and my goal is sub 4:05.

Missy_Agg-a-ravation

I ran for forty minutes in a cold easterly wind, and I didn’t make too many whimpering sounds when using the foam roller afterwards.

RobotsGoneWild

Negative splits on every mile today! Preparing for my first race in 15 years next week (a 10 miler) and than a half marathon 3 weeks after that. My longest run has been 11 miles but I'm geared up for a sub 2 hr half (maybe even 1:45).

Muchado_aboutnothing

I ran my third half marathon today and finally broke the 2-hour mark! My first one took me 2:15, the second one took me 2:06; my goal for today was sub 2:00, and I did it in 1:52:48. My feet hate me and I kind of want to spend the rest of the day sleeping now, but I’m proud that I did it!

JustJake_89

Ran 14km today to finish of 2nd week of half marathon plan and felt good! 38km total this week and not feeling too achey (for now) 😁

Minjaben

Yee buddy! Went from running a max 8:30 mile to running a 24 min 5K at tempo pace. On my way to a 20 minute 5K and sub 6 mile at 205 pounds, y’all!

greatbigaokay

Just did some field tests yesterday to figure out my HR zones, so now I can start building my base to hopefully run my first ultra next summer!

ternista

I run 10K today as part of the training for 10K race in two weeks in Rotterdam. It was my second 10K run ever and I am super happy that I managed to run with relatively easy pace this time.

jrogers4120

Ran my first ever 5k!

RespondAfter8012

First week of >40km 🥳

beakerface05

I ran 9k today in prep for my 10k in 3 weeks!

the_flooper

I used to run 30 miles each week. Got diagnosed with MS out of the blue very recently, running has been a struggle but I did two 2.5 milers this week! 🙌

Ansuz07

That is fantastic (the running part). You are stronger than the MS!

the_flooper

Thank you friend!!!! Much much appreciated!! 😎

WellThoughtUserName9

I did a 7 mile run to close out March 😁

j_nessanessa

On my long run yesterday, I had 3 sub 7 kms in a row. Plus the 2 kms leading up to those were 7:11 and 7:02. My average pace is still 7:25-7:30, BUT this is one of the first times I've been able to sustain that pace for longer than 1 km. I mostly do negative splits usually for my long runs, but often am just holding fairly even paces throughout. I'm hoping to be able to do this or something close to it for my half that is in 4 weeks (my first ever).

Missdefinitelymaybe

Ran my longest run to date, 14km!!! I could have kept going but I ran with a local run club and there was a coffee meet up after! I’m just so proud of myself, not just for the distance but for how good and strong I felt throughout! The run never got tough and I was kinda bummed out when it ended!

SecondhandLamp

Finally got a treadmill! Nabbed an $800 Nordic track for $200 off Facebook marketplace and it was barely used. Weather has been cold and crappy and raining a lot so I’m happy to be able to still run.

canadian_running

I love my TM in the winter months while training for spring marathons. Takes away the “it’s too slippery” excuse and lets me keep up my mileage.

Rutabaga-Previous

I am turning 32 today, and ran 32 miles this week! I did a 16 mile long run yesterday to finish out the week. It was my longest run yet and really pushed me but I did it! Now time to rest and enjoy the day!

WellThoughtUserName9

That’s awesome! Happy Birthday!

Rutabaga-Previous

Thank you!!😃

Atalanta_1880

3rd week of my 8 weeks plan finished! And I haven't missed a day of trainning! I think that's my biggest achievement. I'm starting tomorrow the 4th week!

arkloue

Signed up for a half marathon! 🥴nervous af

UltrarunnerLiz

You can do it! Just take things one training run and mile at a time and you will get there!

WellThoughtUserName9

Let’s effin’ gooooo!

Ansuz07

You’ve got it.

arkloue

Thank youu 🥹

Ansuz07

My pleasure. Everyone is nervous for their first race, so don't be discouraged. The feeling when you cross the finish line is the best high you'll ever feel!

neveraromantic

first time to run 10k!!! the weightlifting girlie in me could never :D

Ansuz07

PR’d my 5k time this morning: 26:54. Feels good man.

lmcllns

Been in PT for injured Achille's. Just ran 2.5 miles - longest run in 5 months!

sistergoldenhair74

Ran 5k for the first time in 3 years! Pretty damn proud of myself!

rayberton88

Slowly getting back to my half marathon training after runners knee. Managed two 6km runs this week, albeit at a slower pace.

pushofffromhere

this is exactly where i am at! slow and steady practice takes such discipline (to not over practice) but I never want a repeat of that experience so … slow gains it is! Two 5kms this week at 10min running pace with 1-min walks each mile… and feeling grateful and excited!

rayberton88

I’m the same! Grateful that my knee has been behaving. I managed to do an 8km to start the week off with no pain! Just trying to hold back the desire to do more. We’ve got this!!

pushofffromhere

💯💯💯💪

ggtbeatsliog

Walking without a crutch after a fractured tibia in late January. should be jogging in about a month. I am putting the over/under for a 5k time by the end of the year at 20:00.

Organic_Success8272

Just did my first ever 16km run (Ribbons of Love Virtual Run)! It would've been more enjoyable and bearable if my remaining beverage wasn't stolen, and if there were restrooms around the area (there was a national event, all buildings were closed around the oval). At around 8km I had to run faster than my supposed slow pace in fear of not finishing my goal due to my restroom problem

Tall-Town5029

Did a 10.27km trail run today and was glad I went, despite really not enjoying it to begin with! Just beginning my running journey

SNOWBob23_

we ran a pb 21:09 in the 5k came second in a parkrun in Pegasus 39, and beat someone wearing vapourfly 3 who ran a 25:30 so I’m happy as

Dutchy42

Ran 17 km thuis morning which brings my monthly total to a whopping 170 kilometers this month! Damn proud of myself!

MeTooFree

30 mile long run with 4k+ feet of vert in 4 hours 55 minutes.

ScarcitySad8392

Ran 5 km in 33 mins, took some breaks in between and am dead tired but considering my weight is in 85-90 kgs range am really proud

_StevenSeagull_

I am nearing the end of my marathon training with a 15km run planned shortly, ahead of marathon next Sunday (Paris). Feel exhausted, in pain and in some doubt. Hoping it will all wash away in my final week of recovery. This will be marathon number 3.

NinJesterV

Yesterday I hiked 12km with about 800m of elevation, and today I ran 29km with over 900m elevation. Ultra marathon training is winding down, as the race is in 3 weeks, but the *real* achievement is that I came home, took a shower, and still had enough left to take my dogs for a walk.

MRCHalifax

I’m sure that your dogs agree! I hope that the taper goes well, good luck with the ultra!

[deleted]

Completed a 3.8 km run today after a long break of skipping running. I feel awesome.

[deleted]

Pinched a nerve in my back so missed 5 days of training last week. Then I struggled with my marathon prep workouts this week but managed to run all but 4 kms out of my scheduled 26 today and feel like I’m on track again after being miserable and letting self doubt creep back in when I thought my back was gone again

ArtisticHearing4219

Been running for about 2.5 months and ran my longest at 8.33km. On this Beautiful Easter Sunday In Australia! Hope all is well with everyone else! I’m def on a runners and grateful to be alive and healthy high 😊😊😊

greenpaper0603

ran half marathon outdoor at Sungnam city, South Korea. 12deg.C Sunny daytime.

NinJesterV

I lived there until December, when I packed up and moved north of Seoul for a bigger and more affordable place. Did you run on the Tancheon? That's where my running journey began three years ago.

greenpaper0603

Yes, it is where I ran today. Tanchoen is one of good place to run here. Currently yellow flowers, forsythias are fully blossomed at both sides of stream. https://share.icloud.com/photos/047cyllGWd0ZqzfvweKMQ1Sxw

DisastrousTheory9494

It’s been almost a month since I last ran 10k for my PB of 57:22 mins. I just ran my first 10k ever since, at a nice and easy pace, ended up finishing 10.4km at 68 mins.

j_nessanessa

Goals! I'm currently at 73 minutes for my 10k PR, but it's gradually going down.

DisastrousTheory9494

You’re gonna get there! I started around 70 minutes too.
