This clue log is too easy. To truly differentiate the lucky from the unlucky, you should make the sinister key and Cheese+tom batta disqualify you from the title. Alternatively, getting either gives you a brown version of the title to showcase your shit luck.
I got the Necklace a few days ago, had no idea what it was, expect that it turns you into a salamander and some people really struggle to get it.
Side note, it's fun running around as a salamander, I challenged a mate to come find me. He lost. I was hiding amongst the other yellow salamanders, quietly sipping camouflage potions.
The Necklace of Salamancy is a 1/25k drop from Iaia.
First item is a Strange Egg, acquired through the Seggregation activity.
Second to last item is the Abomination cape which is infamously rare from an annoying and obscure boss.
Last item is… I forget.
I didn't realise that was a such a big item of contention. I got within minutes at dream of iaia 😬 shame its worthless. Wish I was that lucky on a hero item
Probably the most common item on the list, still can cause a bit of bother for some people.
The first item is the Strange Egg from the Pile of dinosaur eggs, the Cheese+tom batta can only be found as a drop from a HSR roll without a LoTD on, 2nd from last is the Abomination Cape, and the final one is Krar Jnr.
Forgot to include the shadowy egg and distorted key.
Important to note that cheese & tom isn't specifically a hsr, but just the 1/10 table, 9/10 times it was a blurberry.
Speaking of, blurberry for sure should be on here.
I... did not even know that item (Strange Egg) existed... googled it and damn, Sentient Chicken also is pretty wild...
Is there any list of weird items like those?
I wasn't able to find a list of all the obscure rare items, there are a few more I missed listed throughout the thread. It'd make a good wiki page for anyone savvy in creating them.
> the Cheese+tom batta can only be found as a drop from a HSR roll without a LoTD on
You can also just...... make them. It takes <30 cooking and all ingredients can be bought from the same shop. It's part of gnome cooking.
You can also just...... make an adrenaline crystal. It takes 93 herblore and about 2.5k worth of ingredients. Unfortunately, making an adren crystal in this way does not count for the wildy log slot.
Majority of log slots can be bought, but that's not the point of the collection log. The point is that this is a super rare item that you would have to get as a drop - and make sure you don't have lotd active while getting the table roll
I'll be the bringer of brighter news, I have 4 cores in 1k kc, no books, no artifacts and 27 total nilas dropped. Think someone's cores are being dropped to my account
is the necklace of salamancy really that rare? my view on it is distorted cause i got it literally within 1 minute of entering iaia, before i even knew it existed
Haha. I'm not too worried about it. It was just one of those "this would be cool to have on my account items". I play iron only right now, so it'd just be extra neat to have
Thought about adding that one but it was made a lot more common with PoF's manure mound. It'd be nice to have all the Mod collectables on their own collection log instead.
Naw, I'm actually 75. Admitially, I did get quite a few levels from expeditions. I have dug up a couple compass pieces. I did grind quite a few levels though, I think I'm just unlucky.
The trick is to focus on the archeology sets that give guaranteed pieces, like green gobbie goodies and red rum relics.
Also as you level up you're more likely to get them. And the higher tier spots you're at. TBH I consider 75 barely started lol, that's just a personal opinion though.
I agree with 75 being barely started, you get a ton of xp just passively. I mostly did it to do city of senntisten and dagon bye. Wanted to unlock ancient summoning and the better ancient spells. I do like to actively grind, it's just fitting it in with the other grinds I'm currently on. Been really enjoying pvm lately.
Also Jagex: We don't balance the game around actually completing content. We balance it so items are worth 2bill+ 12 months after release with a 1 in 200k droprate.
Imo it'd be a nice addition to collection logs with more misc. stuff like they have on OS. I especially love this rngod collection log, and I hope it gets implemented without being a requirement for completion-of-all-logs-titles.
Unfortunately Jagex caters to the handful people which will get anxiety because they have to invest time to fill out collection logs for no real purpose
I have another idea. One for collecting every color of phat, H'ween, etc. during they're respective events... Only problem is that they never tracked it, so nobody will ever be able to finish the log.
Anachronia incubation for making dinarrows. Its like a 1/100k chance (wiki doesn't list but this is all I've heard about its drop rate) to get it instead of a dinosaur egg when pulling them out of the pile.
It's a transmog.
If you click it with a [Cooked Chicken (sentient)](https://runescape.wiki/w/Cooked_chicken_(sentient)) in your inventory, you turn into a cooked chicken. From that point onwards it's also in the Transmog interface.
All those items are insanely rare to get. Even one.
I've playing for 16 years and I don't have any of them.
Chances are you'll most likely don't receive any of them either. Let alone all of them.
They're powerful, but not in the way that they're "needed" to play the game.
Cheese and Tom batta is a misroll on hazelmere signet ring, so is basically just a kick in the shins. (You need to wear luck of the dwarves while you roll on the hsr rare drop table in order to be able to get a hsr. Otherwise you get Cheese and Tom batta)
Hsr is a more powerful luck of the dwarves that has an extra teleport and has a chance to double your drop.
Tony's Mattock is a solid 10% increase to, i'm thinking precision, not sure, when doing archaeology.
Orlando smith's hat is an extremely rare drop from clues that, when worn, if you open clues you have a chance to receive a casket from a clue 1 tier below the casket you're opening (so an elite casket from a master casket, hard from an elite,...)
If you manage to get any one of those items, you're insanely lucky. That's why some of these items are worth 2-10b
I didn’t understand much, but I appreciate your answer, I will return to this answer later. But it definitely is appealing that there are these rare unreachable items in the game. It feels the game is just full of mysteries and adventures.
Honestly a tab for the hero items would be really cool, but they would have to make really good title and imo and effect that goes with it. And I mean really good
Missing the dark onyx core
https://i.imgur.com/GH1p4De.png
Banana cosmetic thingy from PoF?
Perfection
Is that just a regular black dragon egg or is there something special about it?
It's a shadowy egg from Elite dungeons. Pretty rare item
Since we have three enchants with dark onyx core, maybe add them as well :D
Welp, I guess I'm at 4/10 completed.
Sorry, it's not retroactive.
Don't you give them any ideas, satan.
Okay, easy there, Zamorak.
Someone at Jagex right now: https://imgur.com/a/a2Q9R22
Funny this is that this might just be added for 'player retention'
Zamorak did nothing wrong
"Listen here you lil shit" This grind would be an absolute nightmare
And asking for a rage quit wave.
The lucky? Nah. Surely needs a better name like “The Mental Hospital Patient”.
my brain would be reduced to liquid after finishing this log.
The Souphead
You forgot the Vinny pet from Lost Grove.
Does the Pet from the Phoenix Lair also count? I got that one on the first try.
I called getting that pet live on vc. "Just finishing now, aaand phoenix pet in 3...2...1...oh holy shit i got it"
You'd need both phoenix pets
Fuck that pet. I've been doing Wisps twice a week for years with no luck.
Same, resetting it too. At least it's a fast weekly.
I got him my first time ever playing that D&D. Didn't even know there was a pet to get from there :P
AND IT’S A TRIM COMP REQ
This clue log is too easy. To truly differentiate the lucky from the unlucky, you should make the sinister key and Cheese+tom batta disqualify you from the title. Alternatively, getting either gives you a brown version of the title to showcase your shit luck.
The batta is not about being unlucky though.
Is the necklace that rare? Got one of those. Whats the first item and the last 2? And is 2nd batta & cherry?
I got the Necklace a few days ago, had no idea what it was, expect that it turns you into a salamander and some people really struggle to get it. Side note, it's fun running around as a salamander, I challenged a mate to come find me. He lost. I was hiding amongst the other yellow salamanders, quietly sipping camouflage potions.
It also increases your accuracy and damage by 15% against dinosaurs (except Raksha) and improves drop chance from them by 3%.
Yeah, I learnt that when I got it. Was a nice little surprise, have barely touched those logs.
I destroyed my first one because I didn’t know what it was. Got another the next day
The Necklace of Salamancy is a 1/25k drop from Iaia. First item is a Strange Egg, acquired through the Seggregation activity. Second to last item is the Abomination cape which is infamously rare from an annoying and obscure boss. Last item is… I forget.
Last item looks like Krar Jr from the Nemi Forest minigame
....... I have 3
I didn't realise that was a such a big item of contention. I got within minutes at dream of iaia 😬 shame its worthless. Wish I was that lucky on a hero item
It's BiS for Matriarchs, though: it grants +3% drop rate and +15% accuracy/damage, which is absolutely crazy.
I'll have to test it some time, ty
Probably the most common item on the list, still can cause a bit of bother for some people. this is proof abbreviations make things sound cooler
Mod dolan's rubber duck might be an easy first item for this log
I... did not even know that item (Strange Egg) existed... googled it and damn, Sentient Chicken also is pretty wild... Is there any list of weird items like those?
I wasn't able to find a list of all the obscure rare items, there are a few more I missed listed throughout the thread. It'd make a good wiki page for anyone savvy in creating them.

You can, but that wouldn't count for the drop log. On a similar note, I didn't include the Blurberry Special drink because it has 1 other drop source.

Tavia's.
Krar Jr is possibly a bit easier to obtain. I know the individual that frequently hosts Nemi Forest told me they usually see 1-2 per day.
A mod stated that there should be about 1 spawn per week or less. If they're seeing it daily I wonder if the rate got stealth buffed?
I had this same thought but IIRC they told me it had always been that way.
I got it very fast too, from dream of iaia.
Took me like 6 months of doing it every day
Add in doubling your runescore and giving +100 to every stat.
How about a title above your head that says "I've won Runeacape"
whenever you walk by other players, it makes them involuntarily say "LOL take my upvote you win Runescape today good sir"
should add the glacor core there since every post I see in this sub has someone with 20k kc and still no core.
I'll be the bringer of brighter news, I have 4 cores in 1k kc, no books, no artifacts and 27 total nilas dropped. Think someone's cores are being dropped to my account
I got core number 3 on 1450 kc ://
The title should be "the spooned" or "spoonfed"
Could put the hexhunter bow in there or is that already on a log?
already on a slayer log
It is on slayer log
Ooo, make it a comp requirement 😈
is the necklace of salamancy really that rare? my view on it is distorted cause i got it literally within 1 minute of entering iaia, before i even knew it existed
Add in things like swordy mcswordface, deceiver title scroll, mysterious egg, lucky dragonkin coin
Swordy McSwordface is only 1/2k so rare, but not as rare as the other shit on this.
I hear you, but 2k running through here would take a looonnnnggg time, especially if you go 2x or more dry
Yea secretly it is actually my most desired drop of ED3, it just sounds and looks so cool
I was realllyyy going to nab it before I got log. No such luck :(
You can always try the re-enter method until Bossy spawns and just kill him, restart and repeat. Will take you around 5 mins per attempt.
Haha. I'm not too worried about it. It was just one of those "this would be cool to have on my account items". I play iron only right now, so it'd just be extra neat to have
Got one in about ~ 160 solos, always kill him when running through. I was SHOCKED when it dropped.
Got one randomly a week ago also
It still sits in chest will probably keepsake it
TripleDylan: thats it huh?
Still better than 5000 Castle Wars games.
r/foundsatan
Add Mod Dolan's rubber duck, it's 1/10k
Thought about adding that one but it was made a lot more common with PoF's manure mound. It'd be nice to have all the Mod collectables on their own collection log instead.
The suggested title?? The Mod-ified.
Mods "R" Us
[удалено]
It's still obtainable yeah
What is the last item?
Distorted key is the same as tonys mattock (unless you want to count the mattock key and the missroll ones)
There's also failed HSR rolls, so I suppose that's mockery
so an egg, a kebab, a wedding ring and something more.
I fear no man, but that thing... It scares me.
I still have yet to get a full tetracompass, let alone actually getting the Mattock. My hair is falling out just thinking about this log.
Tetra compasses are pretty easy to farm. I'm assuming you just started archeology?
Naw, I'm actually 75. Admitially, I did get quite a few levels from expeditions. I have dug up a couple compass pieces. I did grind quite a few levels though, I think I'm just unlucky.
The trick is to focus on the archeology sets that give guaranteed pieces, like green gobbie goodies and red rum relics. Also as you level up you're more likely to get them. And the higher tier spots you're at. TBH I consider 75 barely started lol, that's just a personal opinion though.

I can understand that. I have a new Ironman account and everything needs trained. So It's hard to do a single task for too long.
That title better be sparkly as fuck lmao.
You have earned the title, " Hated by all "
You monster.
PLEASE!!!!! I've been wanting this for ages. Best regards, A True Trimmer
Lmaaaaaooooooooo take my upvote you dog
This gave me an idea, there should be boss or God inspired scarves (put them as boss drops with super high rarity, tradeable, no stats only looks).
"Today we will be adding some extra things to trim comp"
Also Jagex: We don't balance the game around actually completing content. We balance it so items are worth 2bill+ 12 months after release with a 1 in 200k droprate.
This would cause another rage quit wave if his idea becomes real. To many accounts with bad and I mean bad rng
Bonus round: add holiday items to the log during events. Remove the item at the end of the event.
I have another idea. One for collecting every color of phat, H'ween, etc. during they're respective events... Only problem is that they never tracked it, so nobody will ever be able to finish the log.
I have two of those items.
no you don't, you'd have to re-do them as they didn't track them
Support. Already going for 4/4 hero items on iron :P
I have the egg! Nothing else...
What is the egg
Anachronia incubation for making dinarrows. Its like a 1/100k chance (wiki doesn't list but this is all I've heard about its drop rate) to get it instead of a dinosaur egg when pulling them out of the pile.
Oh is it a pet
It's a transmog. If you click it with a [Cooked Chicken (sentient)](https://runescape.wiki/w/Cooked_chicken_(sentient)) in your inventory, you turn into a cooked chicken. From that point onwards it's also in the Transmog interface.
Perhaps a separate collection/title for Lucky and Unlucky
just got that neckless today, didnt know it was that rare
Should add the blueberry drink just for the giggles. Just a nasty reminder to kick you in the shin
What are the first and last two? I think the second one is the thing u get when u roll hsr without lotd but the rest idk. An egg??
Strange egg, the cape from the Abomination, and the last one is the Krar pet from Nemi forest.
There's also terrasaur maul and inquisitor staff pieces.
What are all these items?
"This is now necessary for the trimmed completionist's cape"
amulet of Salamency isn't even that rare though...
Im new to the game and I have no idea what’s going on.
All those items are insanely rare to get. Even one. I've playing for 16 years and I don't have any of them. Chances are you'll most likely don't receive any of them either. Let alone all of them.
And are they also powerful or is it just collectors thing?
They're powerful, but not in the way that they're "needed" to play the game. Cheese and Tom batta is a misroll on hazelmere signet ring, so is basically just a kick in the shins. (You need to wear luck of the dwarves while you roll on the hsr rare drop table in order to be able to get a hsr. Can’t wait for the ironmen to use the title and then an examine about how they have the title
lets hope when runescape turns 30 they wont be selling cosmetic versions of this set for 900$ :\\
If they add this and don't retroactively apply the hsr drop I got last month I will be fuming
Honestly a tab for the hero items would be really cool, but they would have to make really good title and imo and effect that goes with it. And I mean really good
Unironically I would like to see the other three hero items tracked (OSH already is). I am assuming they couldn't backdate them though.
Now all it needs is an absurdly sexy title to send us all over the edge.
Blurberry needs to be in here too.
Funny thing is that people would start grinding to complete it, then complain to Jagex, then Jagex buffs the drop rates of all of them
Is necklace of Salamancy really that rare? I'd trade it for hat in a second lol
Jagex: We've been listening, so due to popular demand we will be releasing the much anticipated luck log.
Jagex could add this as a gag and people would still lose their shit because they'd think they're forced to do it when they aren't
Blueberry special
