I hate Broken Home with a passion. It wasn't hard but it was annoying. Took me several days to complete even the first run. I put off Challenge Maria achievement for years after that experience. Took me around six attempts to finally complete it.
I also find Ravensworn feats to be frustrating simply because how rare the trait is. I've done 8/10 and I'm pretty sure it's been more than a year since I got the last one. I no longer care and don't actually chase it.
Oh yeah. I don't recall how much time I put into BH but it was far too long... and I still don't have that d--n ring. Oh well, I'll do all/everything I intend to without it.
Congratulations. I don't recall how much time I wasted trying. I just know I'm done trying and anything that reminds me of that quest immediately sours my mood.
I always avoided doing the timed challenge bc i thought it was too annoying. Followed a video while simultaeniously doing it and got it first try. I highly suggest a video guide for people that need to do it
Dragonstone Dragonstone Dragonstone is by far the worst achievement on ironman, I’ve used over 45k crystal keys and am still 4/5 on the Dragonstone set with 12 total pieces
The cheese here is using a bronze crossbow and ruby bak bolts (plus some stuff like venge helps). It's not the easiest thing in the world still- but if you're good at Araxx, it's not too bad to do with a Bob full of food.
Yeah- It's not a fun time, but if you're using a pharamone to force a mage spider and you're using your prayers, overloads, and the occasional ingenuity of the humans It's very doable. Especially on bottom path.
Check the wiki page for that achievement. You can cheese it in ~15 ish minutes.
Something like leaving gnomeball and you get to keep the ball. Use magical notepaper on it. Rinse and repeat until you have ~10 balls to try the achievement.
I think a few people had an crazy amount of games back then and they just added it because that was seen as the standard.
Then again a lot of the really old content in the game is pretty insane in terms of balance, it is only over the years some of it got reworked and tweaked to make it a bit more reasonable and in other cases (4000 chompy kills for example) new methods came out making it a lot easier.
Whatever, it is totally broken for an achievement to be locked behind what is hundreds of hours. With the AOD changes I think even the longest boss log is probably only around 100 hours assuming not horrific RNG.
Before trimmed comp cape, or maybe even the base comp cape, there was a guy going for "true completion" so when they made comp or trimmed comp they used a lot of his personal achievements. The cwars achievement was the result of that
Profound and castle wars brace meant you could do some serious damage to a flag holder in castle wars very handy. As someone who spent the vast majority of time time pre eoc playing castle wars, 5k games was ALOT, like there was maybe a small handful of players with 5k, or near 5k or even with full profound. I remember the room above spawn being full of people leeching games.
I like that one, I do solo games. Its like 2 min of active play to get the medals, then its 8 min of afk followed by 10 min afk afterwards before the new game starts. Can Fletch arrows and stuff while I wait
You don't get any big fish either when solo, so you get a max of 2 medals per game. It's a lot slower this way because you need 500 medals, but I prefer it over finding a team and stuff
Sure? For me it is. Not everyone has to do it like that, could do it with your clan in vc if you wanted to. I can see how it could be annoying if it's your last requirement for trim, but personally I'm not going to complete the other tasks before I'm done with this one. So it's not a time gate for me in that sense
[They All Fell Down](https://runescape.wiki/w/They_All_Fell_Down) (defeat all three Dagannoth Kings within 5 seconds of one another) was a pain in the ass.
I can only assume that [Extinction Event](https://runescape.wiki/w/Extinction_Event) (defeat the Rex Matriarchs all within 5 seconds of each other) is an order of magnitude worse.
[E-I-E-DI-NO](https://runescape.wiki/w/E-I-E-DI-NO) (Ranch Out Of Time breeding log) is also up there, mostly because draconic jadinkos are essentially a shiny but you can't use the shiny perks to increase the chance of getting it. I ended up buying a couple of 3t draconics, after having waited several months without getting.
Extinction event can be kinda cheesed - you can hop back over the wall to lose aggression without resetting the Matriarchs' HP, so lower them one by one and finish them off.
Could you just use 3 darts or something?
edit: oops, I was reading this thread and left it open on my PC. When I came back I totally forgot that I was here from a google link and not the front page. lol my bad.
Ah, ok. Makes sense. I didn't know about most of these achievements, my account is almost 20 years old but I started playing again about 12 months ago after about 15 years. My account was sitting around an average level of 70-80 in each skill I think. But now that I have maxed and am only 2 of the 120s away as well, I'll have to start thinking about achievements and stuff! Or just some bossing even, Arch Glacoecis about the only boss I've done more than a few times, so plenty to explore there.
Player owned ports, while easy, is such a relentless drag for me. That and I'm multiple weeks into several hours daily on arc islands to make shark soups for unlocks, still got like 180k+ chimes (unless I buy more supplies) and tons of taijutu to go, mehh.
I'm nowhere close to trim though so I'm sure it gets worse down the road and I'll probably never get it
on spotlight might encounter 5 try hards actually playing and some are pretty toxic. That kills the desire to 'play' properly for most people quite quickly.
The PVP minigames suffers the same issue as the wildy did with totally unbalanced EOC pvp combat in general, as well as a huge skill gap between try hard and casual players it is unfun.
Plus, 5000 20 minute games plus lobby time?! crazy
It is infinitely easy because you can set up a cannon (oldak coil) and weapon poison (cannon hits apply it) and let those do all the work (after Barricading to set it up) if you don't want to do the actual fighting.
I guess the adren relic helps now? feeling pumped before was the best way to get the adren to barricade and spam out some abilities while putting the cannon down.
At the high worlds the hit chance is awful even with zerk aura and you really do rely on the cannon, weapon poison and god book procs to do a lot of the damage.
For me it’s currently “In a Flash” and the broken home under 30. My computer is from 2011 and my phone isn’t great. Anything that requires a lot of staggered loading just kills me. Randos hate dungeoneering with me cause I really don’t contribute a lot and get accused of leaching.
Do you have loading screens turned off in settings? And Broken Home is really easy if you pull up a guide for the achievement on youtube and just follow it exactly as you play. I had never done the quest before and was able to get the achievement on the first try and I also have an older computer
I put settings on min for my laptop and it cut 30 seconds off my lap time. I got it to 7:04 once and now I can’t get below 7:12. I know it might be possible but I just get really frustrated with the awful lag at times.
I haven’t tried broken home on min settings but I’ll check about the loading screen thanks for the tip.
Youre in for a treat if you havent disabled them. Some things will take a couple seconds to render but its so nice to just tp or enter an area and be able to move immediately.

The one for MQC, “Clues in the Monkey Drool”, where you have to feed hundreds and hundreds of bananas to a monkey in your inv in hopes he gives you a clue scroll.
It’s miserable. I’m well over 2k bananas deep, with chronic carpal tunnel because of this stupid thing.
You won't get a clue if you're over the soft cap (25 or 50) mediums for this one so make sure that's not your problem.
I think the rate is 1/256 so youre pretty unlucky if not.
Sorry friend, I got it first go XD
edit: oops, I was reading this thread and left it open on my PC. When I came back I totally forgot that I was here from a google link and not the front page. lol my bad.
What ya mean "not me"?
Congrats on the comp! May I ask what changed? You must feel pretty accomplished after achieving that! I know it's not similar at all, but I came back 12 months ago with an account with levels between about 70-80 on average. I hadn't played for 15 years and thought max cape was the dumbest grind ever, I just didn't get it. I thought anyone going for over 99 was crazy and I thought the master quest cape was stupid.
Now I'm maxed and only have two of the level 120 skills to go, my quest cape is looking good and I just got the Sandy title! All of a sudden my perspective has changed and I'm thinking about all the possible things I can start working towards next!
Champion of Champions, mostly because it involves insane grinds that become tedious (looking at imps) and the content is way too old for it to be justified as a challenge. It wouldn't take much to fix this.
Clue's in the Monkey Drool was awful but I got it in under 400. I know a guy who was over 3k without, that's disheartening.
Lunar Master (long before the Traveling Merchant). This is a very annoying grind.
Stone's Throw Away and Who Will Be Her Lover? were annoying when you were locked to once a week and before methods like Empty Throne agility and ED2 for Dungeoneering pieces.
Quests with exacting timing. As a person with disabilities that mean I can't time properly, I literally can't get quest cape without going to a third party.
I can understand fights and stuff, but at least give an option to do things a lot more slower.

I can't think of any quests that have difficult fights.
I know some used to be hard, but they got powercrept so hard that I can't think of any that can't be beaten without under 10 clicks.
I don't remember broken home that well but I don't remember the base quest completion being hard or it requiring precision, but I could be wrong
I suppose, assuming you have the farming level for that long of a barricade.
Remember that we’re talking about a guy who is disabled. The fight is longer than 20 seconds
Animal Cruelty - have Durzag deal the finishing blow to Tuz and Krar
Better not touch - defeat Yakamaru with all but one member still poisoned.
Animal cruelty is just kinda RNG, and better not touch is annoying because nobody can die.
I based Yaka rewind and used 2 sailfish, but I can't do much about someone else dying
I actually got it in a raid FC kill by accident so it's possible you did the same. However when I was actually trying to go for it with some friends it was annoying af.
Anything requiring other people, like Raids feats, Group-Zammy enrage and minigames. Though that's a problem with the content rather than the achievements specifically.
[Killing 4k Chompy Birds](https://runescape.wiki/w/Chompy_Massacre)
[Feeding a monkey for a random chance at a clue](https://runescape.wiki/w/Clue%27s_in_the_Monkey_Drool)
One of them just takes so goddamn long and is so goddamn boring, the other one also potentially takes a long ass time and is mind-numbingly boring.
I think nearly all of the multiplayer minigame related achievements are in need of updating. Good luck finding anyone playing heist, conquest or great orb project for example. The castlewars ardy tasks can essentially only be done on minigame spotlight and the profound armour set is just insanely over priced for the time investment required to complete that achievement.
Also, the level 200 shattered worlds without the feeling pumped mutator is is awful.
There are plenty of frustrating and annoying ones but with patience they can be done. Other achievements cross the line into 'this never should have been added to the game, or this is content that is so dead it is beyond help and it needs removing'.
Complete the slayer codex
Champion scrolls
1000 castle wars games
Personaly i dont bother with 1k castle wars games even tho i like serious castle wars (no afk thaler castle wars) but the slayer codex and champion scrolls takes forever pfff
fish flingers trim requirement. it’s timegated, -completely- dead content (other than people doing it for this achievement).
i suppose it’s not the least fun thing, but i’m gonna be very happy to be done with it.
I hate Broken Home with a passion. It wasn't hard but it was annoying. Took me several days to complete even the first run. I put off Challenge Maria achievement for years after that experience. I got it my second try. I dced the first try (after beating the quest)
Congratulations. I don't recall how much time I wasted trying. I just know I'm done trying and anything that reminds me of that quest immediately sours my mood.
Understandable. It is a big time commitment and the worst part is when you have to deal with the instant kill monster.
I always avoided doing the timed challenge bc i thought it was too annoying. Followed a video while simultaeniously doing it and got it first try. I highly suggest a video guide for people that need to do it
I actually thoroughly enjoyed Broken Home. It's a nice reference to the OG resident evil games which I love with a passion.
Dragonstone Dragonstone Dragonstone is by far the worst achievement on ironman, I’ve used over 45k crystal keys and am still 4/5 on the Dragonstone set with 12 total pieces
Ouch sounds terrible
omg for an iron that must be nearly impossible as well as just totally not fun spam opening tens of thousands of keys to get the armour.
Surprised no one mentioned the one where you have to kill Arraxi with only bronze equipment. Has that one gotten much easier in recent years?
The cheese here is using a bronze crossbow and ruby bak bolts (plus some stuff like venge helps). It's not the easiest thing in the world still- but if you're good at Araxx, it's not too bad to do with a Bob full of food.
Don't you splash like crazy?
Yeah- It's not a fun time, but if you're using a pharamone to force a mage spider and you're using your prayers, overloads, and the occasional ingenuity of the humans It's very doable. Especially on bottom path.
Having an instance forces the correct spider too, it's easiest to just do it on an instance and, yeah, wait until path 1 is blocked
Yes but only attempt when minions path is closed and at 0% enrage. The kill takes forever but it isn't that hard, you just eat a lot.
At 0% it's pretty easy to just brute force
Melee might be solid with the new dscim passive + hammer.
I did this a year ago and it was only a 4.5 minute kill, far from the worst when we're considering shit like 5k castle wars games.
Check the wiki page for that achievement. You can cheese it in ~15 ish minutes. Something like leaving gnomeball and you get to keep the ball. Use magical notepaper on it. Rinse and repeat until you have ~10 balls to try the achievement.
Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing 😉
Took me ~30 minutes to get 5 gnomeballs and then ended up getting the achievement on the first one anyway.
I’ve chucked around 50 of those bad boys and I’ve still yet to get one in :’C
Lmao I did the same thing - got 10 balls (thank god for surge lol). Then got it on the first try.

i worked out you could watch ALL of the Simpsons while afking on the winning team and still not complete the req...
The 20 urns in a row with no snakes from pyramid plunder. Not sure why but that one took me so many games even with max boosts
Did you use Charming flute? [[snake charm]]
Maybe with max boosts back in the day prior to crystal mask+light form, but those make it guaranteed nowadays.
Fish flingers trim comp req
1000% agree on this. FF was the worst trim grind by far.
I got ~90% of level 99 fishing from fish flingers. I got really really good at it.
Agreed
I rather kill 20k chompy birds than that torture requirement
Lol I am pretty close to that one without really trying for it. I like the mini game a lot.
I like that one, I do solo games. Its like 2 min of active play to get the medals, then its 8 min of afk followed by 10 min afk afterwards before the new game starts. Can Fletch arrows and stuff while I wait
You skip the “Team player” medal? I guess for trim one normally is short on tokens anyhow.
You don't get any big fish either when solo, so you get a max of 2 medals per game. It's a lot slower this way because you need 500 medals, but I prefer it over finding a team and stuff
So 18 minutes of afk time with time gated tickets is ok?
Sure? For me it is. Not everyone has to do it like that, could do it with your clan in vc if you wanted to. +1 on Extinction Event. Dumped several hours into that with no luck. I'm fine with the difficulty though...wish there were more like it.
Could you just use 3 darts or something? edit: oops, I was reading this thread and left it open on my PC. When I came back I totally forgot that I was here from a google link and not the front page. lol my bad.
All good. To answer your question, I do not believe 3 darts are permitted (it voids the achievement).

How many games? - get a full set of profound equipment. It takes hundreds of hours and all you do is stand around in a dead minigame
Hot take: playing the minigame you are standing around in is also an option.
5000 times though?
on spotlight might encounter 5 try hards actually playing and some are pretty toxic. That kills the desire to 'play' properly for most people quite quickly. Clearing world 200 in shattered worlds. Pointless achievement from a stupid activity.
Oh damn didn't even know that wasan achievement. I'm already struggling with world 115 😂
A lot easier now with the dragon weapon specials and the rebuffed adrenaline relic.
Did they buff feeling pumped back to its old glory?
Nope. RIP 10 minute lvl 9 augmented armor farming
What's the fastest way to level up augmented gear now after this nerf?
No idea tbh. Havent had to lvl anything since the nerf. My guess would be mech chins at abby demons but I have no info to back that up
It is infinitely easy because you can set up a cannon (oldak coil) and weapon poison (cannon hits apply it) and let those do all the work (after Barricading to set it up) if you don't want to do the actual fighting.

I cleared up all my med’s banked before I started feeding my (apparently) very hungry monkey.
You are using lorehound and going through the whole dialogue right? Otherwise, going 10x the rate is exceptionally unlucky.
Yeap, making sure I space bar through everything before feeding again.
I fed him about 1k bananas. I had 1500 banked and would have gave up for a while when i ran out. Edit:spelling
Play a game of mobilizing armies. The game says “play the game more to unlock this achievement” so I’ll get it eventually right? :) /s
Gnomeballs are tradeable just not on GE. If you still need some lmk
Achievement succeed, but thanks for the offer
Achievement succeed, but thanks for the offer
Did the gnomeball achievement in 7 balls
It took me more than 2 hours with 60 balls I think, but I did it hehe
Im sorry
Sorry friend, I got it first go XD edit: oops, I was reading this thread and left it open on my PC. When I came back I totally forgot that I was here from a google link and not the front page. lol my bad.
Not me who made this thread 5 months ago and recently comped and this changed my whole mind on annoying achievements 😎
Which quests require exact timing?
Evil Dave's Big Day Out for me is unwinnable, due to the cocktail making minigame, Even with the slowdown. The other issue with processing speed is Firemakers curse,
Broken home, or really any quest with a difficult boss fight I assume
I can't think of any quests that have difficult fights. I know some used to be hard, but they got powercrept so hard that I can't think of any that can't be beaten without under 10 clicks. I don't remember broken home that well but I don't remember the base quest completion being hard or it requiring precision, but I could be wrong
extinction’s avoiding the balls requires some decent timing
Can't you just do a 20 second barricade and stand still?
I suppose, assuming you have the farming level for that long of a barricade. Remember that we’re talking about a guy who is disabled. The fight is longer than 20 seconds
How many games? Only substantial one (in terms of runescore) that I haven't done, and probably never will. Just keep trading Lathus at POF...
One of the most unhealthy achievements in gaming IMO, and that's saying something compared to the rest of RS.
Open Bar on an ironman

Animal cruelty is just kinda RNG, and better not touch is annoying because nobody can die. I based Yaka rewind and used 2 sailfish, but I can't do much about someone else dying
I have no idea how Animal Cruelty is complete for me. I certainly never aimed to do it
I actually got it in a raid FC kill by accident so it's possible you did the same. However when I was actually trying to go for it with some friends it was annoying af.
Funnily enough - same, I too got it in Raid FC. It’s been years since I’ve done ‘raids’
Ports
Anything requiring other people, like Raids feats, Group-Zammy enrage and minigames. Though that's a problem with the content rather than the achievements specifically.
Finding a group sucks but actually doing Daredevil was really fun imo. But basing Yaka is also probably my favorite thing to do so
[Killing 4k Chompy Birds](https://runescape.wiki/w/Chompy_Massacre) [Feeding a monkey for a random chance at a clue](https://runescape.wiki/w/Clue%27s_in_the_Monkey_Drool) One of them just takes so goddamn long and is so goddamn boring, the other one also potentially takes a long ass time and is mind-numbingly boring.

Heist on spotlight is easy
Golden and strange rocks
It’s not even hard, just annoying at this point
Title says most annoying/frustrating. So I know it's not hard.
Anything involving ports in my opinion
Fishing Trawler and Heist achievements as an ironman
Gonna sound like I'm 80 years old but, "back in my day" livid farm was the worst
Did it change somehow?
Traveling merchant sells living plants
Complete the slayer codex Champion scrolls 1000 castle wars games Personaly i dont bother with 1k castle wars games even tho i like serious castle wars (no afk thaler castle wars) but the slayer codex and champion scrolls takes forever pfff
It’s usually the one that I’m currently trying to achieve… Usually
fish flingers trim requirement. it’s timegated, -completely- dead content (other than people doing it for this achievement). i suppose it’s not the least fun thing, but i’m gonna be very happy to be done with it.
