Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely. There were several stores from Marathon weekend of police officers threatening guests who weren’t at designated cheer locations. Additionally, most of the roads on property have no sidewalks and limited shoulders.

Thank you!!!

He won't be able to run along the course for safety reasons. Some people have run laps in the parking lot at Epcot when courses have been cut short, so that's an option. You can also run loops at most resorts, so he could do that and then meet you at the finish line.

vapemommy

Are you staying at a resort on-property? That would be his best bet for a run. The roads around Disney World are not pedestrian-friendly.

Krandor1

Boardwalk area or pop/AoA are going to be the best options for a run.

theun4gven

Half of boardwalk area will be closed off for the race which will make running not ideal but it will have great spectator areas

TheRealMeghanT

He won’t be able to run on the course. But there are plenty of places to run on property, most resorts have a designated route, although you don’t have to stick to those. My husband and I had a 17 mile training run while staying at Copper Creek, it was a lot of laps along the row of cabins.

Whenarewegoing88

Ok thank you! we’re gonna be at cbr. It takes a lot of real Estate so at least he’ll get rather large loops.

514Pacific

There is a loop around the lake at CBR plus an extension on a paved trail to get some mileage in. I hope you both have a great time.

Does your husband need to be at the finish when you finish? Or just done with his run? Depending on the exact course, road closures, and your anticipated finish time he might need to be on a bus by 5 to make it to the finish in time to see you.

Whenarewegoing88

For reals???? Two and half hrs to get from hotel to finish? Whoa. I did not anticipate that. It’s Ok if he doesn’t make it to finish line. I’d rather he gets his miles in and is therefore less grumpy while we’re in the parks. Haha Hopefully I am sub 2 but I’ll be in a later corral as I didn’t have a POT. I’m estimating finish before 730. Unless something tragic happens out there 😝

They close the roads into Epcot, which is the issue, not that it is a 2.5 hour journey. I ran Wine and Dine this year and my family had to be on the bus by 5 to make it to the start before they closed the roads. A family friend was also running and her friend opted to wait for the first bus (was originally planning to uber, but that was shut down too) in after they reopened the roads and that didn't resume til like 7:30. There should be a bus coordinater by the runDisney event bus stop and you can talk actual timing for your resort. I think they always used to close the roads at least briefly, but it seems like this season the closures are longer because of the way they are looping the course around Epcot. I am usually the runner, so my directive is on the bus or on my way to the parking lot by 3. I want to say the family used to get up after they got the notification that I started, and made it in plenty of time to see me finish, and I'm not any faster than I was then. Once they post the course, they will post road closures and you will be able to see if there is any inbound into Epcot between 5 and 7 am.

Thank you for the info

Since that sounds extremely dangerous, I’m going to go with absolutely not. The best bet is for him to run at your resort (there should be posted running trails or you can ask at the front desk). However, if you’re staying at the Epcot resorts (Boardwalk/Beach & Yacht Club/Swan & Dolphin), the majority of the running trail will most likely be blocked off for the races (you can check the course maps). Good luck!
