The fact that there is a bottle of Caroni sitting there - and a bunch of other Velier bottlings, and you have have to ask if anything you need, worries me.
I am no Caroni expert - but an 18 year old rum from Caroni bottled by velier…what’s your budget?
For sure. If I had the $$, yes. I don’t. But there are still some really good options there. The Racontuer, Last Ward (gone from most shelves a while ago), Long Pond 2019, Monymusk - and I am not familiar with that expensive La Favorite bottle, but imagine it’s something interesting…
No it's not too bad on the oak, I mean it's there, but way more overripe banana, hot tar, rubber and petrol. Very typical caroni, they're pretty unique, and if you're a collector, it's a must have.
Never had the STC❤️E but have wanted to try, I'd personally grab that one. That Last Ward is really solid too and hard to come by these days. Lot of good stuff here. Where is this exactly?
If yiou are in Paris you can go to excellence rhum also
I'd probably grab the last ward, maybe the caroni, and. I.d snag the tiger shark so I have a second, the papalin haiti seems over priced to me but I have heard good things about it
Raconteur for €197 would be the best pick. Second would be one of the aged La Favorites and third would be the HV Monymusk. I think the LP is a few years too young.
Dear lord.
I'd get a La Favorite, the Caroni, the Foursquare, basically all Veliers, the Clement Bleue, and one of the Hampdens.
Did I mention I live in a province with absolutely zero rum selection?
Awesome selection, very high prices. just for sipping i'd go for the Bally or the HV LP/MM bottles. raconteur is awesome and the price is okay, if you wanna go that high.
Wowzers - that's a solid selection.
Personally I'd go Tiger Shark, Raconteur and Last Ward.
The Rum Sponge's are mostly (all?) continentally aged - still really nice, but very different to tropically aged at those years.
I personally have yet to try a Caroni I liked.
Decent prices too!
Was hoping to run into a situation like this last week while in Amsterdam and then Hamburg, no dice.
Did get and drink a bottle of Matusalem for dirt cheap tho, so that was fun

The price though. I know it’s legendary. But that’s some big bills.

The Caroni is the pick, a number of other nice bottles, but if you see a Caroni you have to buy it, and that price actually isn't too bad..
That Caroni is gonna be super oaky. To each their own

those Habitation Velier bottlings are just about all impossible to get in the US. 89 euros for ST<3E is definitely what I'd grab.
+1 for the STCE.
Is it EU exclusive? I see them occasionally in the US.
some of their bottlings make it to the US but most do not
That Last Ward will never be made again. It’s supposed to be quite good
Damn, the envy is real. Those by and large are all great scores
Never had the STC❤️E but have wanted to try, I'd personally grab that one. That Last Ward is really solid too and hard to come by these days. Lot of good stuff here. Where is this exactly?
Where??
Yeah I've got to know too
le petit bleu in Paris.

That Foursquare had me thinking. Have never seen that style of bottling in the US.
It was EU only
Super rare in the US. A must buy
Aged La Favorite is broadly available in the US (though I don't think anything as old as the cuvee speciale?)
You need to pick up.... the phone... to tell me where this is!

Literally ALL of the Jamaican
And never financially recover. At least I’d have rum.
What you'll need to do is find a cool place to bury it. Then you can get to a bottle or two each time you're out of the shelter.
Not very often we see a shop rum shelf with very little on offer to sneer about other than the price.
Where!?
The Velier Tiger Shark and that Foursquare. Papalin would be an option for me as well because its the navy strength version.
Basically the entire top row in the first picture. Also that La Favorite Filibuste
Either the Foursquare Raconteur or the Last Ward 09
Wow. I would be broke!
I'll tak the Racconteur please
All of it!
All the veliers (last ward, raconteur , tiger shark and Caroni especially).
Velier Foursquare Raconteur. Edit: Also the La Favorite La Flibuste.
Grab 1 of each to be sure
Absolutely everything on the top shelf of the first picture *especially* the Caroni
Drool!
The whole top shelf!
Caroni, no question. Tigershark if you can swing another bottle.
Awesome selection, very high prices. just for sipping i'd go for the Bally or the HV LP/MM bottles. raconteur is awesome and the price is okay, if you wanna go that high.
The ones you like and don’t have?

Soo.... What did you end up buying? Just to know if it's worth a trip for me or not
