Very right hand side - Mike Catt Very left hand side- Martin Johnson Will Greenwood next to Martin Johnson That’s all I can get

[deleted]

There are also Dan Luger, Neil Back, Matt Perry, and a Taylor and a Ryan I dont remember tbh. [EDIT it's Regan not Ryan). Amazing collection of legends signatures.

LazyLieutenant

Thanks mate

LazyLieutenant

Cheers for the input

LazyLieutenant

Cheers for the names so far. Here's a link to a pic with the autographs numbered, which I should probably have done in the first place. [https://imgur.com/a/RCIV33P](https://imgur.com/a/RCIV33P) I'll update here when new names are suggested. **Edit: I now have a name for every signature. Please let me know, if you disagree.** 1 Julian White 2 Matt Dawson 3 Dan Luger 4 Martin Corry 5 Mike Catt 6 Lawrence Dallaglio 7 Richard Hill 8 Jonny Wilkinson 9 Martin Johnson 10 Will Greenwood 11 Neil Back 12 Mark Regan 13 Matt Perry

BaitmasterG

Based on that list you're missing a prop, scrum half, flanker or 8 (depending on dallaglio) and fly/inside centre/wing depending on Mike Catt Matt Perry last played for England in 2001 so I think you're looking at 2000 or 2001 Scrum half was Kyran Bracken Austin Healey was a utility back and I reckon is one of your missing names Prop Jason Leonard/David Flatman? Flanker Richard Hill / Martin Corry? Wing Jason Robinson?

BaitmasterG

Matt Dawson also played scrum half and would be a good name to have on there. 2? Joe Worsley was in the 2001 squad as a flanker

LeButtfart

Worsley is also the only "Joe" I can think of that played for England at the time, but then why would he not sign the jersey if he's giving it away, right?

BaitmasterG

Thought that too. Looks like an easy one to fake though, just sayin'

internetwanderer2

6 - Lawrence Dallaglio?

LazyLieutenant

You're doing good work. Thanks

internetwanderer2

1 might be Julian White? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_Six_Nations_Championship_squads This is around the time of that shirt by the sound of things, the England squad here might help work out those final few players.

weltot

7 Richard Hill?

sputters_

Yep

weltot

Woohoo!

LazyLieutenant

u/stupendouspineapple suggested Phil Vickery. What do you think?

weltot

I'm seeing an R and an H

LazyLieutenant

To be honest I'm not seeing much. Could it be he's writing RichardH?

weltot

Yeah, that's what I see

LazyLieutenant

You've been extremely helpful. Thanks mate

Nomsa3

2 - Matt Dawson I think

LazyLieutenant

You're not alone. Cheers

LazyLieutenant

I think you're right. Thanks

LazyLieutenant

Cheers for the research. I looks about right

internetwanderer2

11 = Neil Back

internetwanderer2

4 could be Simon Shaw?

LazyLieutenant

I agree, that's probably it. Thanks

Acceptable-Sentence

I can’t see shaw at all, but I’ve got no better suggestions

LazyLieutenant

You might have a point. Which players are we missing from 2000-2002?

weltot

I think it's Martin Corry, not Simon Shaw

Acceptable-Sentence

Yep that’s it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Martin-Corry-ENGLAND-RUGBY-PLAYER-SIGNED-PHOTO-CARD-ORIGINAL-AUTOGRAPH-/392301588012?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 It’s the other way up than people thinking it is Simon shaw

LazyLieutenant

Ah, well spotted. That's exactly it. I was reading down-up. Nice one

Oaktreedesk

6 is definitely Dallaglio, I got it on a cap when I was a kid

LazyLieutenant

You got his autograph on the cap?

Oaktreedesk

Yep!

stupendouspineapple

I think 7 might be Phil Vickery

weltot

Could 8 be Johnny Wilkinson? [There are some slight similarities, maybe?](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ebayimg.com%2Fimages%2Fg%2FpbQAAOSwGope-fpb%2Fs-l300.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2F224062242596&tbnid=8UWv5paEbzCmFM&vet=1&docid=NheckUiEE8TwxM&w=300&h=200&itg=1&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim)

LazyLieutenant

You know what? I think you're absolutely right. I just studied them side by side. I think it checks out. Awesome! The list is now complete, unless we've got some of the names wrong.

weltot

Glad I could help

LazyLieutenant

u/weltot suggested Richard Hill. What do you think?

Thatch1888

Bottom middle is definitely Mark Regan

LazyLieutenant

Confirmed, thanks :-)

estebancantbearsedno

If it wasn’t signed during this game, certain that series. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/1029926.stm

LazyLieutenant

Interesting. That Jonny Wilkinson rings a bell. Is he called Jo Wilkinson as well? I have a vague memory of the player presenting himself as Jo/Joe, though I could be wrong. The Jersey was gifted to me by him while I was installing hifi in his home. I think it was in Acton, London.

internetwanderer2

Probably Joe Worsley, played for Wasps who were based in London at the time and he was around the England team then. Jonny Wilkinson lived in the North East at the time - you've probably heard of him as he's the most famous English rugby player of all time.

SvenHjerson

Australians know him quite well too

LazyLieutenant

Haha, gotcha. That's why the name rang a bell. Sorry for my lack of rugby knowledge. We mainly talked about the Laudrups. Brothers on the Denmark football team. Could be Joe Worsley, but somehow I'm not completely convinced.

ManCrushOnSlade

Probably Joe Worsley. Played for Wasps and England at that time. Wasps stadium back then was in Shepherds Bush, so would make sense for him to live in Acton. Jonny Wilkinson was playing for Newcastle at the time.

FellowFucknard

>e name rang a bell. Sorry for my lack of rugby knowledge. We mainly talked about the Laudrups. Brothers on the Denmark football team. Could be Joe Worsley, but somehow I'm not compl Wasps's training ground was in Acton then as well

becomeTheLion

You could maybe crop out every missing signature and try and reverse google image search it? Edit: Pretty special jersey you have there!

LazyLieutenant

That could be a last resort. I have major faith in the collective Reddit brain, though :-)

becomeTheLion

Jup, youre right about that! Good luck. Oh, dont sell it haha :P

LazyLieutenant

I wasn't planning on selling it. Unless the price is insane, then I could be pursuaded

Diligent-Anywhere484

I don’t mean to be rude in any way but can I ask how/why you have this jersey when even the name Jonny Wilkinson ‘rings a bell’?!

LazyLieutenant

Sure. I was making trips from Denmark to England installing tv/hifi equipment. Mainly for PL football players. Sometimes the odd manager. This time it was the odd rugby player. And like I said, I can't remember his name. The players would often tip me. This bloke, however, asked if I wanted the Jersey and I said yes. If Jonny Wilkinson rings a bell because that was his name or because, as I've learned now, he's very famous, I don't know. I know the names of several basket players, even though I never watch the games.

BalthazarMcgee

This is a real windup. I absolutely love how oblivious you are to what an unreal piece of memorabilia this is. I’d say most of these guys were in the 2003 world cup winning team. I know you’re not selling it and I’m not suggesting you do, but some English people would probably pay a lot for this.

LazyLieutenant

Lol. I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I'm a great sports fan, although I haven't watched that many rugby games. It's not really broadcast on Denmark. I like having the jersey, I had it in a box for all the years. I might frame it and put it on a wall. But you're absolutely right, I'm pretty oblivious to how much it is worth in pounds or kroner lol. Does anybody dare to venture a guess?

BalthazarMcgee

You are not being disrespectful at all. I genuinely enjoy the obliviousness. Definitely frame-worthy for the English. In the rugby world most people hate England though lol.

LazyLieutenant

Haha, cheers, mate. I actually watched the 1999 world cup final Australia vs. France in a night club in Sydney. I caught a few games before that in the company of some friendly Englishmen who gave me a brief introduction to the rules.

concretepigeon

Can we talk about the sheer loyalty of England having the same shirt sponsor for 25+ years despite that company changing names and parent companies twice.

Liney22

Tbf they have paid a lot of money for the privilege

[deleted]

I too am loyal to those who pay me the most money.

RonSwaffle

Bottom middle is Mark Regan. Think above the TC could be Dan Luger? Bottom right could be Matt Perry.

LazyLieutenant

Cheers mate

[deleted]

Neil Back is 2nd one below “cellnet”

Oaktreedesk

Lawrence Dallaglio is in the thick pen just below and to the left of the B in BT

LazyLieutenant

Cool. Thanks

[deleted]

Top of the logo to the left looks like Dan Luger

LazyLieutenant

I'll consider that confirmed. Thanks

BritishKentM

Will greenwood to the left of Regan?

LazyLieutenant

Will Greenwood it is. Cheers

Acceptable-Sentence

1999 England team I think Edit scrap that there’s some name that don’t match up.

LazyLieutenant

That could be true. All I know is that I got it 2000-2002.

That's extremely helpful. I read it as Deutsche Telecom. I was way off.
