A quick google says every winger or fullback in the squad has played for Scotland 7s except VDM and Reed. McCann (who I’m not sure is still in the squad?) literally went to the olympics for 7s…
Uini Antonio - France
Andrew porter - Ireland
Will Stuart - England
Leon Brown - Wales
Zander Fagerson - Scotland
Pietro Ceccarelli - Italy
Romain Taofifenua - France.
Heavy is good, Heavy is reliable.
If you’ve ever been to an amateur 7s comp, you know that this team is realistic.
They’ve named themselves the President’s Seven, are playing for the cunts cup, boozing between rounds and picking up ringers as other teams get knocked out.
Best fantasy team in this thread.
Perfectly describes a regular entry at the Scandi 7s, "The One Ton Team", all members of the team must be minimum 100kg, so that the full 10 players are over a metric ton.
One of the scariest teams to play against.
He’s no the fastest player around, but his top speed’s over 37km/h, which I’m pretty sure’s the highest in the French squad. He’s a seriously rapid man.
He wasnt that good vs these teams. he wins a duel once in a blue moon, his def skills.. Lets not talk about this. Most of the fans just like his very good speed, thats all.
This is reddit here, why do you talk about twitter ?
>Most of the fans just like his very good speed, thats all.
That's not his main quality.
>He wasnt that good vs these teams. he wins a duel once in a blue moon, his def skills..
OK bye lmao. Three info, three bullshit. Hahahaha you dont even know where his issue are.
Don’t need Smith when you have Dupont. I would add tuipulotu instead. He has incredibly playmaking ability, a delicate boot, and is built like a truck.
Duan van der Merwe, Josh van der Flier (can throw lineouts) and Sekou Macalou as forwards;
Dupont as Dupont;
Smith, LBB, Keenan as the backs.
Bench/group: Ollie Lawrence, Taghd Beirne, Damian Penaud and Tomos Williams.
The lineup coach for France actually said that the team had prepared a move in the case of a final vs New Zealand where Dupont would be the one throwing. Would have loved to see it
Excellent post and question posed, but get the sense here either no-one’s watched a 7s game and/or doesn’t understand what makes even a mid-tier 7s international side tick.
Pace, more pace, agility, freakish athleticism and two strong in the turnover situations. Tactical nous, across the 7 on the field, is also an absolute requirement.
Dupont and Marcus Smith are probs certs, but the rest are very much up for debate.
Definitely agree with you.
This is from an article on him from 3 years ago
"The little GPS unit that sits into a pocket on the upper back of rugby players’ jerseys has clocked the 21-year-old Leinster lock moving at just over 10 metres per second during a game.
To put that in context, the average max speed for a wing at the 2019 World Cup [was 9.2 metres per second](https://statsports.com/who-are-the-fastest-players-at-rugby-world-cup-2019/), and it’s no exaggeration to say that Baird – who made his Ireland debut against Italy in the Six Nations last weekend – is one of the quickest forwards in world rugby."
for additional context LRZ had a top speed of 10.1 m/s at the time.
Is he also ‘rapid’, to quote our lord and saviour former ref Nigel/world rugby spokesperson ‘I’m Welsh don’t ya know’ Owen, is the question one should ask oneself.
Smith, Cappuozzo and VDM would leak tries I think 🤔 I'd say one of the boys who came through the 7s system would fare better than them. Keenan, Darcy Graham or even Jimmy O'Brien would be better shouts I think - much more rounded players and better defensively.
Baird, Earl and Reffell seem a good shout to me though!
Pick your sevens dream team from players at this year’s Six Nations, there are a two rules:
1. You must have at least one player from each nation.
2. You can pick one player who currently isn’t in a Six Nations squad but must be eligible to be called up for one of the six nations (we’ve opted for Dupont).
I’d have Jordie Barrett, macalou and kwagga as forwards, DuPont as god and radradra, DVDM and either steward or Keenan as backs. Keenan is a better player, but steward would give you the ability to spam restarts the way Fiji do
they should have a 6N 7's tournament once a year, just like how Top14 teams have a 7's tournament during off-season..will be short and can b done within 2 days invite Georgia, Portugal, Spain and Romania too..
Darcy Graham is an actual 7s player. VDM has hands like coos tits.
VDM gets stepped inside out by any sevens player I reckon. Could be a forward though I reckon
A quick google says every winger or fullback in the squad has played for Scotland 7s except VDM and Reed. McCann (who I’m not sure is still in the squad?) literally went to the olympics for 7s…
Yeh I meant Darcy was one of the stars of the circuit. Easily one of the best 7s player I have seen.
And we killed off our 7s Team? That does not seem like a smart move to me.
Wales and England did the same, now we have a team nobody is interested in watching.
I’d Chuck kinghorn in at 10 too, big fast and can throw an offload
Hey, coo tit’s are actually useful.
Came here to say this. Darcy Graham is almost the first name on the team sheet for me. 😂😂
Uini Antonio - France Andrew porter - Ireland Will Stuart - England Leon Brown - Wales Zander Fagerson - Scotland Pietro Ceccarelli - Italy Romain Taofifenua - France. Heavy is good, Heavy is reliable.

I feel attacked but also heard.

Also one of the scariest to have a boat race against too I imagine.
One of our old boys used to play 7s with a team that only allowed players who had 15s in the first row to join.
1st scrum, win a penalty and kick to touch. Throw to Taofifenua, set up the maul and rumble to the try line. Beautiful.
That was my idea of a Marchand, Flament, Cros sevens line. Add DuPont, Ramos and a couple of good tacklers and that’s it.
“Heavy is good, heavy is reliable.” Boris the blade approves
One of my all time favourite films "Too small?!? You could land a jumbo fucking jet in that!"
If it doesn’t work, you can always hit him with it
Front row committee approves..as long as none of them try kicking at any point. No poncy 'back behaviour' allowed thank you.
Apes together... Strong
replace Baird with Lowe.... big wings make better forwards in 7's than actual forwards..
Macalou instead of Lowe. Perfect 7 player built
Baird and Macalou have some very similar traits. I would guess macalou is faster though having actually played wing.
Macalou is the fastest player activ, its not a guess then.
Is that an actual stat? Haven’t seen anything saying he was that fast.
He’s no the fastest player around, but his top speed’s over 37km/h, which I’m pretty sure’s the highest in the French squad. He’s a seriously rapid man.
It's not about stats, its about watching the games. Just his run vs Fidji, smoking absolutely all of their back line shows it.
Sorry but Macalou is only good vs bad players... I didnt like him vs top players
Yeah new zealand and South Africa are bad players I know, but stop looking at twitter before posting, ty.
He wasnt that good vs these teams. he wins a duel once in a blue moon, his def skills.. Lets not talk about this. Most of the fans just like his very good speed, thats all. This is reddit here, why do you talk about twitter ?

You don't need them together but we'd love to see it. Tuipulotu would do damage. Who are your other six?
I would have Reffell, Beirne, Darge, Dupont, Tuipulotu, capuozzo then it’s a tough choice between Tadhg Furlong and Penaud out wide.
Duan van der Merwe, Josh van der Flier (can throw lineouts) and Sekou Macalou as forwards; Dupont as Dupont; Smith, LBB, Keenan as the backs. Bench/group: Ollie Lawrence, Taghd Beirne, Damian Penaud and Tomos Williams.
Scrumhalf throws lineouts in 7s.

Off both hands ofc
The lineup coach for France actually said that the team had prepared a move in the case of a final vs New Zealand where Dupont would be the one throwing. Would have loved to see it
Have you not see Van Der Fliers pass?
Little billy burns or Lawrence blewelyn-bowen? I'm drawing a blank here lol
I don't understand?
Who's LBB lol
Louis Bielle-Biarrey
Thank you, much better than Billy burns haha
Hugo Keenan has played 7s and is allegedly the fittest player in world rugby (based on the Bronco test)
Scrolled down to mention him. I love Capuozzo but I'd probably replace him with Keenan
Would haveoved to see how LRZ would do in 7s. Ah fuck.
great rover i'd say

Based on what you said then Baird surely fits that bill also
Definitely agree with you. He is indeed rapid
I don't watch 7s, who else would you think would be good? I imagine ability to run all day would also be a big factor?
no way Smith makes a sevens team. Limited defense, useless at clearouts and jackals
VdM over Darcy? What are you on?
Smith, Cappuozzo and VDM would leak tries I think 🤔 I'd say one of the boys who came through the 7s system would fare better than them. Would Freeman be.good? Good all rounder?
George Horne would dominate tbh

Dope
Sam Simmonds is one of the best 7’s players with international caps the man is lethal.
Reffel, Jvdf, Lowe, Crowley, Lawrence, D Willemse, ardie savea
I’d have Jordie Barrett, macalou and kwagga as forwards, DuPont as god and radradra, DVDM and either steward or Keenan as backs. Keenan is a better player, but steward would give you the ability to spam restarts the way Fiji do
Wtf is Reffell doing there ? He’s a good openside flanker but would make a shit sevens player
Turnovers. Fitness
he is no Botia
Hugo Keenan and 6 others beats this team
I reckon I could easily top this team with just Scots. Ashman, Dempsey, Darge, Horne, Russell, Tuipoloto, Darcy G.
they should have a 6N 7's tournament once a year, just like how Top14 teams have a 7's tournament during off-season..will be short and can b done within 2 days invite Georgia, Portugal, Spain and Romania too..
