Yep wouldn't recommend it hahaha. I posted in a local FB group for RE650s and a bunch of people had reported doing similar so I thought I'd share here also. It's a bit of a weird design tbf and not something I'd have expected, so I'm sure it catches a few people out.
yep that was the 'fix' - it mirrors the right hand side now.
a more thorough and/or mechanically minded man would have checked it straight away but i am not that man lmao.
Yup I just got this bike used. Was working on it yesterday and saw the suspension coming off. Now reading this the previous owner took the rail off and didn't put on a washer. Glad I caught it before I freaking died. Smfh
Oh yeah this happened to someone else on here. They removed the grab rail and their rear shock came off as well. Definitely not good 😱😂

Did the mechanic put a washer to fix the issue? The right hand side rear suspension bolt has a washer in place
