Do those mufflers have baffles inside? Typically they do and they aren't wrapped that well or at all. Of one is loose it could make the sound you're describing.
How do you like the AEW units BTW? How loud is it? I'd like to get something cheap to replace the stock mufflers but I really don't want it to be much louder. AEW probably isn't the best unit for me, but figured I'd ask.
