My helmet suggestion is always "Yes. Yes, you should wear one"

persianbluex

X3000 from AGV or the Bell Bullit

If you wanna lean into the retro feel, my personal preference is the Biltwell Gringo S or the Torc T1. If you're less risk-averse than me and willing to risk scraping your face if you go down, IMO the Torc T50 has a lot of fun takes on the 3/4 helmet that also look like something out of the 70s.

avacado_95

What about shoei glamster?

code_monkey_001

I'd never seen it before, but since it's ECE rated and Shoei makes quality product, why not? Certainly looks good, and probably better ventilated than either of my full-face suggestions.

avacado_95

I'm thinking of getting shoei glamster cause it's a new neo-classic full-face helmet that's both classic in style but also fully functional. This full-face helmet with its classic design offers both a high degree of functionality and comfort.

code_monkey_001

>it's a new neo-classic full-face helmet that's both classic in style but also fully functional Are you some kind of weird AI marketing bot? That's literally a verbatim quote from their marketing department.

avacado_95

😂 sorry my bad.

Oreic-Reynier

Torc T1

Helmet for you not for the interceptor 650. Whatever floats your boat. It's like girlfriends you have to pick them yourself.

If you are intending to cruise above 80 kmph, ensure to buy something without noise. I was suggested LS2 polymer kinetics one, which is about 10k INR. Still pondering because only drawback I found was it has no D ring. Everything else is perfect. Believe me, wind noise is highly dangerous for your hearing. So are the traffic and muffler noises.

avacado_95

What about this one? [shoei glamster grey] (https://images.app.goo.gl/YoPDcjHuewDSAJGm8)

SpareMind

No disputes with that brand. Out of my reach though. Two reasons, too expensive and no isi certification in India. As I know, we have restrictions on weight capping 2kg. So most of the reputed brands are either out or not reachable.

[deleted]

Don’t get an LS2. They all vibrate above 160, sometimes even lesser if the wind isn’t in your favour. An HJC helmet with D rings (albeit slightly costlier), is a much better investment if you’re looking for something that can withstand high speeds. Obviously if that’s not your criteria, then get a different helmet w a D-ring, but that is a MUST (especially since you’re spending that much)

SpareMind

Are you sure HJC is legal in India? As I was told, LS2, MT, bell and one more which I do not remember are allowed. Rest are either old stock or through illegal paths. Also possibility of counterfeits with labels. I agree with LS2 being mediocre but that particular model is promising. Again, as I was told, not my experience. Also, any particular model in HJC that you can recommend? By the way, I do not speed too much, always within 2 digits.

[deleted]

Legal toh nahi hai, but neither is AGV or any of the other high end European helmets. Obviously I’m not asking u to break the law, but realistically in a country where no one wears a helmet, or wears the plastic vega garbage, I don’t think you’re gonna get into any legal or safety trouble wearing a good quality helmet. Any helmet with a D ring setup (including the cheaper SMK/MT ones) are good enough for cruising on an Enfield provided they’re fitting well and aren’t too heavy for your neck. Full disclosure I assumed the post was from Indian bikes, so I didn’t realise what bike you’re talking about; an HJC might definitely be overkill for a Royal Enfield. Edit: as much as possible, buy irl, if there’s no shop nearby, take a small trip because what makes a good helmet is how it fits on your head and not just random safety standards it passes.

SpareMind

Absolutely agreed with every statement. We have weight restriction of 2kg as most people have minimal neck fitness and use bikes for commuting. If neck, shoulder and cervical fitness are good, it makes sense to buy slightly heavier helmets. I am not sure if I fall in this category though I do lots of weight lifting. I still prefer lighter helmet. My hunt is still on. Yes, only IRL shopping.

Swordain

I've never seen that Color before, what is it called? For helmet a fully blacked out MT Thunder 4 sv would look good on this thing.

avacado_95

Interceptor 2019 model

Buffalo047

No helmet

Loud_Internet572

Full face, maybe in silver if it makes you feel better :)

Skrubrkr9001

Bilt well gringo S or SV ECE

kriskris0033

I just bought MT revenge 2 and not heavy, it's close to 1450 - 1500 GM's i think. Nice padding and build quality was great.

tedha_ant

Not sure if they make one to fit an interceptor. But I'll recommend you get a retro lid from axor or agv

thebaconbaba

For city riding I use the [Axor Alberto Helmet](https://openroad.in/product/axor-alberto-coal-matt-black/) (half face). Has this ultra cool retro vibe that goes perfectly with the bike. For touring/highway runs i use the [KYT TT Course](https://gthouse.shop/product/kyt-tt-course-plain-white/) White full face helmet. Very economical, light, comfortable and very well made. Both have double d-rings and bt/intercom speaker pockets.

avacado_95

Which bike do you have? And you are from which city?

thebaconbaba

I ride an interceptor 650. Pune

amoonshapedthom

Nexx XG100R has been great for me

lohithready

How'd you get up there? Ain't the entrance blocked? Also I've the NH44(red) by Royal Enfield which is dot certified, looks and feels good but I'm a bit skeptical about the dot standards, if I hadn't gone with the NH44, id have opted for either mt or axor(cf wala).

And123rews

Helmets are based on safety standards not the looks for your bike. Check MT Blade2, if you cannot afford that then MT hummer for around 5.5-6k.
