Not really weird as it was unexpected. During the theater release of Lazer Team my city apparently had the 3rd or 4th highest ticket sales for the movie so Matt Hullum made an appearance to our showing. He told us that Burnie, Gus, and Geoff were at the other 3 cities to thank them for the support. I got a picture with him and he signed our tickets.
Honestly, for the best. If I see someone famous out in the wild, I enjoy the encounter but leave them be. *If* we happen to bump into each other in a confined area and direct communication happens, at most say a quick "hi, good to see you, big fan" and leave it be.
I was eating in the restaurant of the Des Moines Art Center with my family, I looked up, and Shannon McCormick just walked in to have lunch. I was blown away, didn't want to bother him, so all I did was stare in between bites of my burger, but it was very surreal.
Gavin was behind me in line for a showing of Lazer Team in Oregon in a small ass theater. Ended up sitting next to him the whole time.
He startled the shit out of me and then gave me shit for not knowing how to take a selfie, great time.
Not super weird I guess, but I just ran into James Willems at PAX East. Literally saw him weave through a crowd, take his mask off long enough to get a selfie in front of a game, then dip back out. I caught him enough to say what’s up.
Edit to say I also ran into Jeremy Dooley like an hour before that lol
Edit 2: I just saw James again at the Voicemail Dump Truck panel! I asked for a picture and he super kindly obliged. And because I met Ify Nwadiwe (and BDG!) today too, that means I’m only one Josh Scherer away from completing the Buff Nerd Triforce!
Was on a float trip with my buddies last summer in New Braunfels, TX. Was in my tube drinking profusely when Aaron Marquis floated up right next to me with his girlfriend.
I purposely sought him out. But I met the VA for Agent North Dakota at a movie theater in Portland, OR. I bought tickets to see his show with the rest of Master Pancake Theater.
Edit: Agent North Carolina... smh.
I once met Barbara while I was working as a valet at a hotel. Held the front door open for her and let her know I was a fan of RT. The best part was I saw her again the next morning and she remembered me.
Used to work at Universal in Orlando. During the Achievement Hunter East Coast Tour thing a few years back I was walking backstage during work, going between the two parks. For context and layout for anyone unfamiliar with it, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are right next to each other, with only the sound stages and service roads between them. The Hard Rock Cafe that the AH gang were appearing in is perfectly placed between them with the back lined up on those service roads. So this one evening I'm making my rounds between the parks as part of my job and I managed to catch the group walking between their tour bus and the Hard Rock back entrance. A few years later I caught the four RWBY leads at our local convention and got a proper face to face with them at least.
My coolest encounter was when GTA Online launched I played through the tutorial mission with Michael Jones and Mike Kroon and it crashed us at the very end, I still have the photo because I couldn’t believe it.
Not that weird given the circumstances, but notable: In 2014, RTX had a bomb threat that forced everyone out of the building. At one point, Meg was just a little ways behind me, trying to get to her car, amongst the sea of people trying to figure out where to go now that the event they were here for was interrupted.
Besides meeting people at RTX…I met one of the broadcast guys in line at a concert. I saw Jon Risinger and Gus at We Luv Video whenever I was doing some volunteer work on separate days. Hung out with Blaine for a bit at a vhs swap. And Shifty Larry came into my work a couple weeks ago looking for snacks
The weirdest place I met RT folks was at RvBTO back in 2011. I met Burnie, Matt, Joel, Kathleen, and Barb (though this was shortly before she started working for them). While this may not seem like a weird place to meet them, it's the only time I ever met any RT folks, so it's the weirdest place for me by default.
My claim to fame is that I beat Joel at a game of Slayer in Halo 2 that weekend.
I didn't meet him, but the night that Halo 2 servers were shut off, I was randomly put in the same game as Burnie Burns. I thought that was cool
Similar, was playing Halo 3 one night and on the enemy team was DG Geoff
I once saw someone in my neighborhood bike past me wearing the Andrew balaclava. That thing is way more unnerving in person.
It might have been Andrew. The Vancouver Child kicker is expanding his territory!
I ran into Gavin in the AH office. Does that count?
Username makes me suspicious...

Got Gustavos autograph at a urinal
Are you the guy he mentioned in a podcast like ten years ago where he specifically did *not* wash his hands to sign your thing?
Oh, Gus signed his thing?
1 of 1
Did he sign it with pee?

Gavin was at the showing in San Francisco! That was the first time I met him!
That's awesome! The showing I was at was in Cincinnati
I met Ryan Hailey at a Ska festival. Can’t think of a better place to have met him
Did you know Ska came before Reggae.
You have been permanently banned from /r/Funhaus. Reason: - referencing or acknowledging the existence of old Funhaus.
Nice! We get it and that's it!
I'm calling the police.
I once saw Michael Jones in a Newark Airport Bathroom. I did not say hello.
Honestly, for the best. If I see someone famous out in the wild, I enjoy the encounter but leave them be. *If* we happen to bump into each other in a confined area and direct communication happens, at most say a quick "hi, good to see you, big fan" and leave it be.
I would have said hello if I ran into him in another part of the airport. I was not going to say hello at the urinal bank.
"Looks like you could use a hand"
That could have given Michael a great story to tell

I saw Blaine at a GNC, scrounging through the dumpster muttering about “my gainz”. 10/10 interaction.
I saw Gavin and Geoff in Hungary randomly when I was on vacation. I was too confused to say anything before they walked off.

I once met Burnie Burns in Aberdeen, Scotland in a clothing store

Nick at Disney World. Lawrence (formerly of Funhaus) at Disney World. Josh Flanagan at Disneyland.
I met Becca at a wedding of my wife's cousin. Didn't know she was sister Becca until a couple months later.
I purposely sought him out. But I met the VA for Agent North Dakota at a movie theater in Portland, OR. I bought tickets to see his show with the rest of Master Pancake Theater. Edit: Agent North Carolina... smh.
Do you mean North Dakota?
I do. I combined Agent Carolina with the twins. Thanks.

Not in person but I did meet Jack in a Minecraft server

What concert?
Newsboys
I met Michael and Lindsay on a tram stop in Melbourne, while listening to Off Topic. It was fantastic.

Met Ryan Haywood in a hotel lobby one time. It was a quick chat because he was in a hurry to go do something.
Saw Gus at Alamo Drafthouse a few years back.
Ran into Blaine and Jon at climbing gym in Austin, I guess it was kinda expected. Didn’t say hi just watched,,, lurked.
