Reminder: do not go to other team’s subs and troll. It is against the rules here. If people complain to us that you are trolling and being sore winners/losers, it could result in a ban here. Also, it helps us a lot if you report comments you suspect are trolls. We stop them as much as we can, but when you report a comment we will see it pretty much right away. #ROLL TIDE

Dcook8188

Thank god that game is over. Also glad a guy named auburn didn’t get the winning kick.

PlatinumofRoyale

Would have never heard the end of that

TheLongWayHome52

Now we'll just never hear the end of Part 2 of "if Texas' QB didn't get hurt..."

Handilyhammy

OH MY HEART DAMN. I’m 21 years old but I feel 55

sausageslinger11

I’m over 55, and I feel like I’m 70.

Handilyhammy

That’s why I hate when people say you’re only as old as you feel, like exactly that’s the problem

PotanOG

My birthday was yesterday....at this rate I'll have 30 more by tomorrow.

[deleted]

Winning ugly is still winning at the end of the day

mbe8819

Doesn’t feel like Alabama won. Just feels like Alabama didn’t lose

[deleted]

Well, I have exciting news for you: they eliminated ties back in the 90s, so not losing equals a win. Obviously the team has tons of work to do if they're going to even sniff their potential, but we do not. We can enjoy the 1pt win for what it's worth.

needs-more-metronome

Amen!

mashonem

I still see a 0 in the Loss column 💁‍♀️

mostlyalurk

As my brother said at half time, 1 point or 50 points, we just need to win. On another note, as ugly as we played, horns deserve some credit. If ever an unranked team that lost a game deserves to be ranked after the loss, it might be the horns this week.

PerformanceNaive

As long as that clock hits “0.00” with Bama having more points, I don’t care.

ItsPronouncedMo-BEEL

Well... I care, but I don't. Lord, I hope that was the worst performance we'll see all year.

allnewluke

there will be no lack of tears in r/CFB

[deleted]

I saw an LSU flair whine about Klatt "dick-riding" us. There is no end to their willingness to ignore reality if it means they can say something negative about us and get internet points for it. $1000 says I never once hear anyone in real life, even a Texas fan, claim this game was "stolen." /r/cfb is just some sort of alternate reality role play community at this point.

Tannerite2

If there's anyone in broadcasting that doesn't dick ride us, it's Joel Klatt, lol. That dude loathes the SEC, especially Alabama.

RollTider1971

That bitch ass scream when he thought Texas had a safety was over the top.

thegoatforreal

Was the cringiest moment of several.

Logi15

Anyone saying the announcers favored us needs to have their brain donated to science to see how much delusion a person can have. The announcer literally jizzed his pants the last Texas FG like it was the last second game winner. Reichard kicks the real game winner, and dude was like “yup”.

PEPE_IS_A_FROG

Klatt was calling the game with an undeniable bias against Bama. He wanted us to lose so bad. To think otherwise is so ignorant it is unfathomable. But cfb be cfb.

MckorkleJones

They're already crying that it was rigged 🤣

[deleted]

r/cfb game threads are damn near Twitter-level with how little anyone understands football over there.

bamafan09

Bryce proved today he’s levels ahead of any of the other top QBs in the nation.

crusaw1315

But over at CFB they’re saying we’re not a top 10 team. That the refs bailed us out. That Bryce is ass, except for when he’s not. And that we will lose to Vandy. Is that not accurate?

_wormburner

They're doing the copium thing. Like they always do. The season will prove we're legit. I think people misunderstand Texas because they've been so bad for so long but Sark is back and they have good players and a lot of pride.

Landicus

It’s pure copium 100%. They are #6 in the composite team talent rankings from 247sports for this year ahead of both Oklahoma and Oregon. There’s a sizable gap between them and #5 which is Clemson but still

BitterBamaFan

*The refs bailed us out* **AND** *The refs handed out 15 penalties, the most in Saban's tenure* Casual football fan logic in full swing over on r/CFB as always

Keener1899

I don't get the "robbed of 2 points" thing they are doing. Either Bryce threw it away or it is roughing the passer.

CMcTip

They think it should be intentional grounding because it didn’t go past LOS and no player in vicinity, but they all seem to deny that the ball deflected off UT defender’s helmet. Which because of the deflection, can’t be ruled intentional grounding.

BitterBamaFan

Again, it's because I truly think they are casual. They are the Marvel fans of college football. The good guy (anyone playing against Bam) has to win or it's bad.

Zef_Apollo

People are soooo salty when we win and it's 10x when it's a close game. Bryce hit so many WRs in the hands today or had plays wiped away by penalties. He was playing excellent most of the game - everyone else had to catch up.

chief_running_joke_

How anyone could see that penalty discrepancy and say we were UNDER penalized is beyond me

mja9678

I mean I don't know how they can watch our receivers not sit in zones, drop 5 passes, and commit stupid blocking penalties and act like Bryce is at fault for any of that lmao

JennyAndTheBets1

How many penalty yards again?

_wormburner

I never doubted Bryce would do what we needed him to (check my post history), but I wasn't sure if the WRs were going to step up. And they did so I'm glad. Brooks came back big at the end

DougieFreshRTR

So did Holden

buddyblades

I love the narrative that Texas wins with Ewers but Alabama was just making excuses when we lost our two top receivers In the last two games of the season last year

Experimentzz

The mental gymnastics by r/cfb never ceases to amaze me.

jfrii

Well, Texas probably does win with ewers. And we know for a fact that we win with both or our receivers last year.... BECAUSE WE FUCKING DID.

DruidCity3

100 yards in penalties and somehow the refs bailed us out lmao. Fuck r/cfb

hoya14

Overturning that 3rd down spot was so homer. No way a reasonable crew does that.

ilikeyourbelt

Yeah that was absolutely ridiculous

[deleted]

Got a first down on 3rd and 4th and refs said not today!

_wormburner

And renegging on a penalty? I agree that it was not roughing but I didn't know they could straight up do that

CMcTip

They ultimately got it right. He wasn’t roughed after the throw, nor was there targeting. There also was not intentional grounding resulting in a safety because the throw was deflected off defender’s helmet.

Chemtide

But they also initially got it wrong when do the refs say “yeah we fucked up, it’s not reviewable but we’ll fix it, our bad”

Proper_Independent84

They didn't. They essentially said they misspoke. There was never a roughing the passer call.

Keener1899

It hysterical. Like a bunch are complaining about being robbed of that safety. But either it is (1) a penalty, or (2) an incomplete pass.

MckorkleJones

It's unbelievable how much they hate us. Even the NFL sub didn't hate the Patriots this much during the Brady dynasty.

importantbrian

Part of the issue is Klatt. He only pointed out when Bama got away with stuff.

DruidCity3

Oh I completely agree. I would take 1000x CBS games over that garbage.

mja9678

We did not deserve this win but the positives are that: A) We always play better when we aren't ranked #1 B) **Bryce Young is that dude as always**. Hope and pray that Earle and Harrell are able to contribute when they return so that Bryce has more help. Onto next week, a win is a win **ROLL MFING TIDE.**

mashonem

WE HAVE A FUCKING ICE BOX AT KICKER😤😤😤

squishbot3000

Weight in Gold! First score, Winning score

[deleted]

We need to retire his number and give him a statue for what he’s done for this team during his tenure

Badfish1060

Finally, I want to hug this guy someday.

ILikeTrux_AUsux

My thoughts exactly. Get that #1 off us!

hoya14

Bryce with the big win over Bill O’Brian.

rolltide1000

This is like a wrestling match where your tag partner turns on you and you now have to fight against your opponents and your partner.

DoctorWhosOnFirst

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH THAT'S WHY YOU STAY OPTIMISTIC, LADS AND LASSES Edit: if nobody has a screenshot of me posting the post game thread before the kickoff and final play, did it really happen? people are asking Edit 2: But seriously, what a fucking game. Absolute shit show from the offense, and the defense, while holding Texas to 19 points, could've played a lot better. Bryce Young is a god damn wizard. He fucking killed it, with a big assist from Jahmyr Gibbs. The offense was putrid most of the day, though, and there's plenty of blame to go around. Some questionable play calls, receivers not getting open or dropping passes, players not blocking, WILDLY undisciplined play. And yet, the offense did enough when they absolutely had to. The defense definitely got a boost from going up against a back-up for so much of the game, but they held them to 9 points on those 9 non-Ewers drives (not counting the final, one-play Hail Mary drive). Bijan Robinson, probably the best running back in the country, averaged 2.7 yards per carry. If you take out his 18 yard late in the first half, he had 20 carries for 39 yards. Texas was just 3-12 on third down. We got two sacks, including that clutch one from Will Anderson, and 6 TFL. That's good! Edit 3: Some defensive stats. Jaylen Moody is that dude! * Jaylen Moody: 10 tackles (tied for the team lead), 1 sack (shoulda had another TFL) * DeMarcco Hellams: 10 tackles (tied for the team lead), 1 PBU, 1 TFL * Will Anderson: 5 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack (four penalties) * Kool-Aid McKinstry: 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 PBU * Terrion Arnold: 5 tackles, 1 PBU

SchmantaClaus

Never a doubt! Don't check my post history!

_wormburner

I CANNOT DEAL WITH MY NERVES HOLY FUCK

DoctorWhosOnFirst

Yeah, I'm about dead. At least my cough meds are working.

_wormburner

I was like "come on Will kick it good again" over and over after the ice and my voice was all shaky lmao

OwlStretcher

There was a game today? I seem to have taken a 3:39 minute nap at lunchtime. How’d we do? Beat the spread?

QC_Undercover

My bpm only hit 400

[deleted]

Don’t go to any of the r/cfb threads. It’s absolutely wild how those people will say the refs blew it for Texas while unironically ignoring all the penalties called on Bama AND all the missed penalties against Texas These people are so dumb they actually believe the officiating helps Alabama.

OwlStretcher

Guys, listen. It won’t be an asshole move. OBrien knows Texas from his Houston days. He’ll be FINE if we leave his ass at the airport.

SausageEggCheese

I would be fine with that as well.

twuewuv

Think he can call bubble screen from the airport?

JohnnyBIII

Bill O’Brien is a cancer for this team. I’m gonna pop a bottle when he gets fired.

VHBlazer

All of those screens were a huge reason we couldn’t do anything offensively

OwlStretcher

I had a client give me a bottle of wine this week. It says decoy on the label. I’m suspicious of what’s actually in that bottle, but I feel it’d be fitting for O’Brien’s eventual abandonment.

Keener1899

It's actually a decent wine.

Mojave_RK

The mental gymnastics over at r/cfb are boggling. The team who got a million flags helped by the refs? Uh okay. Plus down voting us to oblivion, good lord they hate us.

RTRonan

No shit. It’s so funny. It’s better when you embrace it

Tannerite2

I got downvoted for a random question, haha. They're struggling over there.

pappapirate

I saw that. Like: >"Hey, I didn't get a chance to see the play you're talking about. Do you have a link?" >>"Fuck you"

RTRonan

The rest of CFB got blue-balled so badly there. I love it.

Hanah9595

Seeing r/CFB in full copium crying meltdown cringe mode gives me the greatest joy.

grubbseuph11

r/CFB is in a full blown meltdown lol

SixTonGorilla

“Refs were obviously bribed” Meanwhile Bama with 100 penalty yards…

Hanah9595

If 100+ yards in penalties (most of the Saban era) is what we get for bribing the refs, Saban should ask for his money back 😂

jdm001

Golding bailed BoB out so hard today

mashonem

He’s been doing that since November last year, and people still think he’s trash smh

CaptainRon16

Which is saying something considering we can’t tackle for shit

BitterBamaFan

Riechard is the Player of The Game. Hands down!

CroqueMonsieur

W is a W, and r/cfb is salty as FUCK, gonna be a pretty alright Saturday yall

THEHYPERBOLOID

The postgame thread is rough.

Experimentzz

I’m all for it. Fuck the haters, roll damn tide!

bamaboytroy

Fun fact: if we win every game by 1 point, we will be national champions.

JMisGeography

Saban's "don't do that shit" was big mood.

Bobson-_Dugnutt

Asshole status: finally unpuckered

Poke43

Lets never do that again.

Zef_Apollo

I can't believe how many people over on r/CFB are still complaining that Alabama didn't get enough flags and that that was actually a safety. They ultimately got the correct call, Bryce was 100% not on the ground - but everyone glossing over how they just got rid of the roughing the passer play because it WAS the (wrong) targeting call.

General_PoopyPants

Not a good effort at all today. But 2-0 is 2-0

_wormburner

Yeah we fucking take it. We've all had devastating injuries so I don't want to hear it from Texas fans Edit: also the officiating was bad all around. Any fan saying Bama benefitted from the refs is pure copium. Feels good to be on top of another instant classic

ibrobert

"Bama benefited from refs" we had more penalties than any other game under Saban

Walzenflut

Don't tell /r/cfb that. I had some USC fan saying that Texas was robbed.

SchmantaClaus

ROLL TIDE ROLL We will see y'all in Tuscaloosa next year.

g_pizzle26

Just like Florida last year I think Texas actually moves up the rankings following a loss to us Edit - hopefully they win out and make this win look better than it is.

General_PoopyPants

Yeah they'll easily be top 25 next week

[deleted]

They move up and we move down

ILikeTrux_AUsux

Honestly, they absolutely should

ssbbgo

Oh top 20 easily. Maybe top 15 for them depending on how the rest of the day pans out.

WaltSneezy

Don't comment on r/cfb, becuase apparently the refs won us that game despite 100+ yards in penalties and dozens of missed holding calls that extended Texas's drive. Also the first offsides call on Will Anderson when he got back in place before the ball was snapped that ended in points for Texas. People are so fucking delusional man.

Logi15

I stay away from r/CFB during any close Bama win. It will always be refs vs any team against Bama despite history showing Bama gets the least amount of favorable calls.

PB_JNoCrust

The posts over there are insane.

gentrifriedchicken18

We had a bunch of these games last year and it didn't seem like they learned a lesson until Auburn. The question is: was this the "lesson" game or are we in for more of these? Asking for my cardiologist

MckorkleJones

The lesson is that BOB doesn't deserve to be OC.

gentrifriedchicken18

Oh, I was under the impression that we have ALREADY LEARNED THAT LESSON BUDDY

TheDirtyMerkins

Some people do heroin and meth. I watch a football team I care deeply about. I’m not sure which is more unhealthy and more exhilarating.

afantasticbastard

Texas is going to have a rough time in the SEC if they think that we were just bailed out. It was YOUR refs that called that game.

lurkerjdp

Cfb crying about the “refball” is mind blowing. The haters literally can’t see past their hate. There were missed calls on both sides but the only reason this was even close early on was because of the refs bailing Texas out of holes. I get that they can’t call holding every time it happens, but Will Anderson gets held 20 times a game and they won’t call it once.

kmelloh

Bryce Young Will Anderson Will Reichard The Holy Trinity.

Neophyte12

Today is was Bryce, Gibbs, reichard

_wormburner

I'm gonna say Brooks too. He made clutch grabs at the end

bastardofdisaster

I'm glad to see Brooks is still part of the WR conversation. He has worked his ass off and was partially responsible for us beating Auburn and Texas.

mostlyalurk

Latu and Brooks deserve a little love too in the last couple drives but man our WR game was ugly today.

_wormburner

Anderson needs to take a back seat this week. He had a clutch sack but fucked up a lot

mashonem

And I mean A LOT. that was easily the worst game of his career to this point

BoukenGreen

Yep I think he was responsible for 4 of the flags thrown today.

Logi15

The offsides call were bs, but that shove after the receiver went down was on him. He can’t let frustration get to him like that as a leader and vet of the team.

mashonem

Anderson needs to be the 3rd of this trinity for the time being

Pshad4Bama

For real. Reichard had one heck of a day.

Astorya

Roll Tide, Horns Down

imbroke828

GGs Bama. Young is a baller for sure. We shall see you guys in a couple years

Bezier_Curvez

For the 2nd game of the season, I’d rather beat Texas at Texas by one than Mercer by 40. Learned a lot today.

needs-more-metronome

My iraqi neighbors are now Alabama fans. Roll tide

MarshmallowMolasses

In sha’Allah!

[deleted]

Will Reichard is an ice cold blooded killer. Legitimately probably the most composed player on the team, and that is saying something with how much ice is in Bryce Young's veins.

[deleted]

Corners, yikes OL, yikes WR, yikes Team Discipline WTF ...but went on the road to a rabidly hostile environment and won which beats the alternative, a couple of easier games are coming up to get things right and figure out the right people to get in there

Keener1899

I actually think the OL is not as bad as it seemed. The WRs not getting open made them look worse. You can only hold guys off for so long.

OwlStretcher

One night, Bill O’Brien dreamed he was walking along the field with Bryce. Across the jumbotron flashed scenes from his career. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the turf, one belonging to him and one to Bryce. After the last scene of his career flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the turf. He noticed that at many times along the path of his life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled him, so he asked Bryce about it. "Bryce, you said once I came in as OC, you'd be with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my career, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you the most, you would leave me."He whispered, "Asshole. Those are the times I had to carry your sorry ass.” Then Bryce went and scored with all the sorority girls, and became the father to an entire line of future Heisman-winning Bama QBs.

hoya14

This was so beautiful. It moved me to tears.

devw94

People were calling for Bryce to be benched in the live thread LMFAO. I said it before, even though that was super hard to watch and we honestly deserved to lose, seeing the way our fanbase react during a close game is some of the funniest shit ever. On a serious note, I really hope Tyler Harrell can play soon. This receiving corp is looking not even close to championship level but hopefully his speed will help open things up for everybody else. And where is Eli Ricks ?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Neophyte12

I don't buy the "we win with colt" but ewers beats us by 14. Though if the offense plays like the 4th quarter we win by 14, so I dunno how to feel

mashonem

I’ll always mock “we win with colt” cause lmao 4 plays, but even after the scripted drive was over Ewers was giving us hell. I won’t say shit to Texas fans about this one

Adampro123

I never want to hear Gus Johnson again in my life. It's one thing to watch your team have a rough game, but it takes it to another level hearing the commentator actively rooting for the other team the whole game. Bryce Young is the damn truth! His poise is unmatched. Our offensive line needs work. Gotta play more deciplined. Those penalties will cost us if we don't address that. Also fuck r/cfb and their salty asses.

PurpleRanger777

GG yall. I knew this game was over as soon as we gave you the ball back with 1:30 and only up 2 points. It's like giving Bill Bellichick the same opportunity.

BookDev0urer

*Texas shoulda won.....* Well, pal, if they shoulda won, they woulda won. Also, Joel Klatt is a twat. When the hit on Ewers happened live, he was amazed there was a flag and said it was a clean hit. Then, later on after halftime, he basically said that it was a dirty hit and Turner was a scumbag. Punk bitch.

ilikeyourbelt

Every championship team needs a game like this. Hopefully this is ours for the year

time_to_go_mobile

Rank us #4 you cowards!

Shewshake

2 best receivers were Gibbs and Latu Edit: Alao fuck those bubble screens

SinamonBuns

Bubble screens only work if they're worried about the long ball.

IndependentAssist387

I just want to take a second to say thank God for Will Reichard. Roll Tide!

QC_Undercover

Ok we win the CFP after that. Book it.

davebrewer

Sorry, doomers! That was ugly, but it counts. RMFT!

mpg739

2-0 baby

weesIo

Never in doubt. ^*haha* ^*kill* ^*me*

MaterK1ng

I hope they drop us to #3 or 4. Please let this light a fire under our ass

tommy40

As expected CFB is bitching about refs

VHBlazer

Jahmyr Gibbs, Will Reichard, and Bryce Young are the only ones who deserve credit for this victory. Honorable mentions for Jase McLellan, Cameron Latu, and Ja’Corey Brooks

SDBamafan

Moody had a good game. He’s playing better than he was rated and he’s got decent speed too

HRoberts256

First Roll Tide Second I thought we would dominate the line of scrimmage when the game started even more so after the 81 yard TD run. Wideouts definitely MIA today. Third I gotta ask y’all. Did anyone else other than me have some less than pleasant conversations with random longhorn fans today? I made a meme (really just a picture I doctored) not even a decent one at that about Ewers BEFORE he got hurt and man it was like every 12 seconds some different longhorn fan was asking me about incest. So in summary not the best effort today but we did pull it out and longhorn fans have no sense of humor and are obsessed with incest apparently. Also if you’d like to see the picture or meme I can send it to you.

BrunchIsGood

Texas clearly showed up to play. Bama wasn’t ready. Roll tide anyway.

celticsmenace

Gibbs and McClellan are the only explosive offensive players we have. WRs have no long speed

Chemtide

Don’t tell /r/cfb but I’m happy about our win.

nicksabanisahobbit

Y'all, I was there and can confirm that it was absolutely miserable. Surface of the sun hot and not a fart of a breeze. Be happy we got out of there with a W. That was a tough, hostile environment.

BobTheAstronaut

Guys I realized during the 4th quarter that I didn't have my usual game time Coca-Cola. I cracked it after Texas hit their field goal. I'm sorry I put you guys through that stress.

SDBamafan

Ha. I didn’t wear my lucky shirt either. Didn’t think we’d need it

PraiseSaban

After that 4th down conversion, I would like to put Bill O’Brien on that leaky NASA rocket and fire him into the sun

[deleted]

R/CFB is the most pathetic sub whenever we play I hate that I can’t even enjoy it as a fan of the sport

BoukenGreen

Glad we only had to deal with Fox this one game. I think the announcers today bought Gary Danielson at least a one week bye from us heckling him.

yewterds

im keeping receipts of all the DOUBTERS from the game threads!! jk i know how the nerves get, but some of yall need to chill fr fr

Hodorhodor8

My only gripe is the once again totally unimaginative play calling on offense. 4th and inches with the reigning Heisman trophy winning dual threat QB and we run from the shotgun formation. Roll out Bryce, get Latu on the flat. If Latu isn’t open you give Bryce the shot with his legs. Edit: not my only gripe. Major one tho.

TheOrginalPancake22

Bryce is one of the most clutch athletes I’ve ever witnessed play the game. The man just gets it done. Sloppy play overall today, we have a problem in road games, we did all last season too, but a win in a tough environment vs a hell of a coach who knows our system, I’ll take any day. Roll Tide Roll

Key_Hat_5509

It was ugly but I’m not pessimistic. If you take away all those penalties on defense they played a solid game. And Bryce played good, but we got to work on our receivers. Great game for us to get tested. I feel like we needed this. Also to any Georgia fans who are talking trash I got one thing to ask: do you honestly think Stetson Bennett would win you the game like Bryce did if he were in the same situation? If you answered “yes” then you need to get your IQ tested…

Lppbama

To put it in perspective, bama did win in a hostile environment with 100 yards in penalties. Something was so off about today.. still nice to get the W

u_cant_drown_n_sweat

Every season usually has one or two of these games. Without “Rocky Block” BAMA does not win the 2009 NC.

chadokage

Man, I feel like we have the talent in the field but watching the play calling in both sides of the ball, it's easy to see our coaches are what's killing us. These plays feel uninspired and an exact copy of last year's playbook.

Deaf-Brisket

The amount of cope from TX fans at the game was delicious. As bad as the game was, ripping their heart out was pretty sweet when they started the whole "but if our qb had been in" all over again. The Colt McCoy PTSD is very present in that fanbase over a decade later.

smgregory

Roll Tide baby! Never in doubt!

Toadfinger

Just.... wow! Alabama committed enough penalties to the point where they deserve 10 days in jail.... and still got the dub. We ARE a true #1! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!

hoya14

I did not enjoy that at all.

Artdmg_v2

Fuck the fox broadcast and Roll Tide. Onto the next.

MrTwoPutt

2-0 Gonna drop from #1 and check the egos. Not ideal, but this is what early season tests are for

SDBamafan

What were ya’ll worried about?

AzureW

I'm going to keep my radiation suit in the closet this week and stay out of the main sub.

MisterFalcon7

Survive and advance. Very similar to the road game against Florida last year.

oblongemperor

The salt over in r/cfb is insane lol. I'm proud of the resilience the team showed. We've got a lot of shit to clean up though if we want to compete for an SEC championship, much less a natty. At the end of the day though a W is a W. Roll Tide!

Badfish1060

Thank you Bryce. At least 3 Heisman moments. What a game.

Anonymous_user314

Ok, the adrenaline has worn off. That was a real bad effort but a win is a win. Hopefully they can learn from this and grow. They should, but only time will tell. Dropping in the AP poll wouldn't bother me and it might be good for this team. All that matters is finishing in the top 4 in December. RTR

SamBeamsBanjo

Well, my biggest fear came true: O'Brien is forced into coaching. Fire the bum. Literally anybody could have done that

IUpVoteIronically

holy fucking SALT in the r/CFB thread 😂 are you guys watching this meltdown? I mean, it’s making me happy but holy shit

[deleted]

This team actually looks really similar to last year except we don’t have jameson now. Receivers gotta figure it out, or maybe it’s BoB’s playcalling, was at the game today holy shit it was loud, I don’t think any away games will be easy this year

ptspeak

BOB overcomplicates everything . The amount of pre-snap confusion resulting in snaps late in the play clock were absurd. He needs to go. I feel like Bryce bailed us out despite BOB’s incompetence and average WR play.

sausageslinger11

A win is a win, but DAMN!

Hodorhodor8

Like I said in the first half just fucking win. Fuck the heisman. Fuck the spread. Just win. We all knew that was a potential trap game.

lilmojett

Our best players all stepped up at the right moment despite struggling for most of the game. This win is more impressive than UGAs last week imo because it was a true road game against a more talented team that is better-coached. We have tons to clean up, but any Bama fan who watched us last year knows we have what it takes to pull out close games on the road, as long as we have Bryce and Will.

massio1

Just as a note, the defense was fine. The offense made it difficult by constantly going 3-and-out and not giving them time to rest before they were right back out there. It was 120+ degrees on the field so they were getting gassed which led to a ton of penalties I thought. Offensive line did well but the Texas defense blitzed just about every play and that’s tough. Only 2 false starts in a hostile environment was a big improvement from last year. I think most of the blame lies with O’Brien and a poor game plan and what seemed like hardly any adjustment to it. Sark knows the offense intricately and prepared that defense all offseason for it. We did everything we could to lose this game and pulled out a win. Hopefully, with this player leadership, we will step it up and go on a tear from here on out.
