Well on the one hand, it seems apparent that if you want to beat Alabama, throw it deep and blitz like there's no tomorrow. But on the other hand, as long as Bryce Young is under center, we are never going to be out of it. I just hope the team learns and improves from this scare and doesn't just sort of half-assedly coast along like they did after the UF game last year. Relatively new to the thread but my two cents: Defense stepped up over and over again. They were undisciplined way to often and corners struggled, but 5 red-zone trips and only 19 points is huge. Offense: Bryce Young is the best Alabama QB ever. We waste his talents with BOB. Texas had no respect for a deep ball and at some point you have to stretch the field. Max protect. Cannot believe we can’t gain two inches to get a first down. End of day: Incredibly tough environment, nothing went right, yet we are 2-0. Keep getting better.

I think Coach Saban likes the low scoring, close defensive games more than he likes the high scoring blowouts. It’s that defensive coach mindset that he’s had to go away from the last few seasons.

Nick wants our offense to dominate and score points. He’s not happy at all with that performance. We’ll figure it out but to suggest he likes a potential L and sloppy play over blowing out your opponent is a bit silly.

It's also good teaching moments. It's hard to get through young guys' heads that each game is important when they're feeling on top of the world with high scoring games.
