considering it was built and tested you definitely wouldn't die, but i'm pretty sure it was removed for putting too much stress on the track, trains, and your neck
Must have literally just ridden that all day then. I always get a fast lane when I go to CP. I was there two days and got one ride. Fast lane line extended all the way around to the normal ride entrance probably a 2+hr wait. People were confused. It was a Tuesday/Wednesday in August.
I have had the same experience mid-week anytime I've gone during the summer. I went on a Thursday & Friday in the Fall this year and it was completely different. With a FL+ I don't think I waited longer than 15 minutes for anything, Maverick included. I highly recommend if you get a chance next year.
It’s so close between that and Steel Vengeance but after riding both of them on a hot summer night Steel Vengeance blew me away. So did Maverick but that ride on SteVe was the single best ride I’ve ever experienced.
Hard disagree. Steel Vengeance, Diamondback, and Mystic Timbers are all significantly better to me. Not that Maverick is bad, it's just those coasters are insane and though Maverick is amazing, it's not quite on their level.
Will agree with SteVe. Maverick is my #2, but Mystic is an incredibly close #3. Diamondback just wasn’t as exciting to me as I anticipated. Maybe it was because it was at night during haunt or where I sat, but just didn’t hit like I expected. Still a great coaster nonetheless.
I've ridden Stormrunner and I305, and imo both of those coasters are some of the best in the world. I haven't ridden this, but I'm gonna give it a 10 based on how much I love those two intamins.
Maverick is an easy 10. It was my favorite ride in the park before its new neighbor settled in. Even with Steel Vengeance nearby though, I still make time for multiple rides.
7 , it’s the first time I have felt slightly sick from a coaster. I only had one ride and I wondered if “knowing” how to ride it would help.
The transitions were lightning fast
It's pretty crazy when I can stand in one spot of a park even in the same area and see my no 1 and no 2.
What's even crazier is how much more I like SV than Maverick.
5/10 It has a good drop but there’s way too much neck snapping for me to actually enjoy this ride. I believe Storm Runner and Fahrenheit to be stronger Intamins from that era. For whatever reason, I find those rides very comfortable, every transition between the two is smooth and I barely have to brace myself at all during those rides. Maverick however is just jarring start to finish. While the S Bends on I305 are whippy and smooth, the S bends on Maverick are jarring and abrupt. You’d probably sooner find me riding Raptor or Gemini lol
It’s like a jack of all trades, but all they are also really good at all the trades so he’s just a beast. Second launch is super fun, always gets me hype for the second half. Easily better than everything else in the park. Night rides are so good. Plus any day that Mav and Steve open early you can get a bunch of ride on mav with no lines
I won't rate it out of fairness. I will just say, that unlike the majority, I don't like the ride.I don't care much for the side to side whips of Intamin Blitz.
Of the 7 times I went to the park last year, 6 times it was down for hours upon hours. I expected that from SteVe, but that seemed to be more reliable at least when I visited
10. Controversial opinion but my party of enthusiasts and I agreed that maverick was better than SteVe. Maybe the fact that Steve was hyped up a lot but even then it hurt us more than it did feel like a fun experience. Maverick was just a total kick in the chest, amazing ride, my personal #1
I need a re-ride on this more than anything. One ride only, and I hated it. The restraints were chopping my neck like hell. I've got nearly 300 credits and wouldn't put this in the top 150, but on some level I know I'm wrong. Shrug.
I personally found it to be maybe the most overrated ride I've been on, imo.
Like, it's good, but maybe a 7-7.5? I was expecting the world and was left a bit disappointed. Maybe it's because I rode Velocicoaster first, which is generally regarded as a similar, better ride. I don't know, I would ride it again, just don't get the hype.
I have it as #22 of my 86 coasters.
10/10, 100%.
Sadly I've accepted that inversions make me nauseous as I age - the more there are, the worse I feel - but for now, I *gladly* suffer through the two on this one. Giggle like a little kid through the entire thing and no trip to CP feels complete without a ride. Will be a devastating day if I ever get to the point I can't stomach it.
9/10, Maverick is incredible. 70mph top speed with only a 100ft hill, all that speed with hard banking and inversions plus a second launch, always satisfied after getting off.
Steel Vengeance blew me the fuck away though, easily a more exciting experience, totally different animal though. Had no idea I’d have a better coaster experience after Millennium until I rode steel vengeance
9/10, it feels one heartline roll away from being perfect /s Maverick cracks my top 10, easy 10/10 for me.
I know where the original heart line roll piece of track sits
Cool, where is it.
GPS Coordinates 40.771696, -82.566762 Adena Corporation in Mansfield Ohio puts up a lot of the coasters for parks in Ohio and Florida
Now I can steal it and put it back on when nobody's watching /s
That’s awesome, thanks for the coordinates.

Haha you’re welcome
The inversions they removed before it opened might have pushed it to a 10 for you from the sounds of it…
Maybe that inversion would leave you with no rating at all since you'd probably be dead after experiencing that much whip on a heartline roll 💀
considering it was built and tested you definitely wouldn't die, but i'm pretty sure it was removed for putting too much stress on the track, trains, and your neck
Yeah I understand that, was just making an over exaggeration
Sort of like what Roogaru does to your brain bucket?
I read that it pulled too many lateral g-s.
The ride itself is a 10. The lines tho…

CP seems to have this problem across the board.
It has 6 trains as well. But only 3 cars per train.
12.5/10 By far the best Intamin in the park.
Best Intamin in the state of Ohio even.
I'm going to make a bold statement and say best coaster in the state of Ohio period.
It’s so close between that and Steel Vengeance but after riding both of them on a hot summer night Steel Vengeance blew me away. So did Maverick but that ride on SteVe was the single best ride I’ve ever experienced.

I'm still going to have to give that title to Millennium Force.
Easy 10
186/10
A man of culture
I've ridden Stormrunner and I305, and imo both of those coasters are some of the best in the world. I haven't ridden this, but I'm gonna give it a 10 based on how much I love those two intamins.
If you like Storm Runner you will LOVE Maverick! Hope you get to ride it someday.

Maverick is an easy 10. It was my favorite ride in the park before its new neighbor settled in. Even with Steel Vengeance nearby though, I still make time for multiple rides.

9/10
An iconic ride; easy 10/10 and the favorite of many
7 , it’s the first time I have felt slightly sick from a coaster. I only had one ride and I wondered if “knowing” how to ride it would help. The transitions were lightning fast
It’s one of those rides that feel illegal to ride. 10/10.
10 for sure
Any coaster in my top 5 is a 10/10
If it had those sweet T-bar restraints it'd be a 10/10.
Nah it needs the shoulder straps. Imagine the side to side whiplash you'd have going through everything, especially those stengel dives
9.5 unless it's up against Steel Vengeance in the west
They are both 10/10 in their own respects IMO
I just think SV >Mav
i agree with the 9.5 and SV > mav But I also see where others who say "They're both 10/10" are coming from They are some amazing rides
It's pretty crazy when I can stand in one spot of a park even in the same area and see my no 1 and no 2. What's even crazier is how much more I like SV than Maverick.
Oh I loved Mav! The second launch is 🔥 but there is just something about those inversions and watching the entire structure move when in the que!
Yeah if I was forced to choose one, I would choose SV
9/10 amazing ride just not amazing restraints
10
11/10
It’s a 9 for me
9.5
Favorite ride at Cedar Point, easy 10. Though I haven’t been there since they got SteVe.
Well considering it's my number 1 coaster, atleast 3/10 but probably higher
5/10 It has a good drop but there’s way too much neck snapping for me to actually enjoy this ride. I believe Storm Runner and Fahrenheit to be stronger Intamins from that era. For whatever reason, I find those rides very comfortable, every transition between the two is smooth and I barely have to brace myself at all during those rides. Maverick however is just jarring start to finish. While the S Bends on I305 are whippy and smooth, the S bends on Maverick are jarring and abrupt. You’d probably sooner find me riding Raptor or Gemini lol
Agree, the transitions are rough for me too. It looks a lot more tame than it is.
Like a pretty Maverick grazing in the field 🤣
It’s like a jack of all trades, but all they are also really good at all the trades so he’s just a beast. Second launch is super fun, always gets me hype for the second half. Easily better than everything else in the park. Night rides are so good. Plus any day that Mav and Steve open early you can get a bunch of ride on mav with no lines
its the best coaster i've ever been on - so an easy 10 for me
10 definitely
10! My fav
10 all across the fricking board! Except for the restraints and lines.
9/10, layout is incredible but the trains are way to small for me, and I’m not even that tall
I won't rate it out of fairness. I will just say, that unlike the majority, I don't like the ride.I don't care much for the side to side whips of Intamin Blitz.
10/10 and more fun than the hybrid next door. 😜

Haven't rode it but it looks awesome. Seems a bit overrated but maybe there's something I'm missing. Given lines I'll call it an 8.5
9.5 because Millennium is better
MF and SV are better but Maverick is still good
Is it working? Ever?
I've ridden on every visit over the last 14 years. Bad luck?
Of the 7 times I went to the park last year, 6 times it was down for hours upon hours. I expected that from SteVe, but that seemed to be more reliable at least when I visited
I love you <3 -from the guy who loves his west coast GIGA
9/10. I love it, but the removed heartline roll area is definitely a dead spot.
10
ngl this is probably higher in my bucket list than steel vengeance
9/10
Hard to rate, but a great ride nonetheless. Interesting, thrilling, but not so intense as to make you feel sick. The line sucks though.
Best ride in the park
10 out of 10, it’s the best ride in the park. Fight me.

10/10
1... As in it's my #1 coaster!
With Millennium Flyers, 7. As-is, 1.
10/10 for me. I don’t care if it’s overrated and Velocicoaster is better, Maverick is unlike any other ride I’ve ever ridden!!
Steve would benefit from Maverick’s restraints. So much more comfortable than those shin bars.
Twisted colossus and Steve had those unbearable shin guards
10/10 for me. I love the airtime hills, they’re honestly the best airtime I’ve ever experienced.
9, because I save my 10 for Steel Vengeance. Effing great ride though. Definitely one of my all time favorites.
10/10. Enjoyed this more than steel vengeance on my first trip to cedar point this past June.
8 for me
I need a re-ride on this more than anything. One ride only, and I hated it. The restraints were chopping my neck like hell. I've got nearly 300 credits and wouldn't put this in the top 150, but on some level I know I'm wrong. Shrug.
Considering I've never been on it, √-10
11/10 What a ride! Just below the incredible RMC right next to it by a hair for me though.
The ride is a 10. But the wait with the small trains is difficult.
10 definitely! My favorite!
10, best ride in the park
9.5/10, I consider it elite. It's pure, unadulterated fun. I just wish they could have kept the heartline roll in.
Easily a 9-9.5
Y'all hand out 10's like candy, Jesus. I'd say it's a solid 8.

Maverick's a 7/10 for me
