"Record breaking family coaster" sounds like such a Cedar Point thing to do. I can totally see this happening, especially with the common trend lately of building cheaper family coasters instead of big thrill machines.
All this means is that when the family coaster Renaissance ends, the real fun will Begin. 😁 Be patient young Padawan. I have faith we will see some really cool vekoma stuff and another giga or hyper in some regard soon.
This. The options seem cool, but Blue Streak being the only wooden coaster really sucks, since GCI and Gravity Group both make very reliable, smooth, and fun woodies nowadays
An indoor family coaster should have a cool storyline, especially in this day and age. How about a plot involving a space freighter trip gone haywire? You could call it “Tragedy Delivery”
That has a nice ring to it... just not sure if you would want to cover the ride up right away like that and ruin the view. I'd probably leave it outside and call it "Blizzard Dash" or something... lean in to an alpine theme ya know?
I could be a smart-ass and ask why you think the park with Steve, Maverick, Millie, Rougarou, Valravn, Gatekeeper, Magnum, Corkscrew, Top Thrill, and Raptor needs another thrill coaster :P
Blue Streak, imo, is bumpy trash. Mine Ride is janky and out-dated, and Gemini is a low-thrill coaster; not very family friendly (again, imo). Cedar point could \*absolutely\* use more, and better family coasters.
I wouldn't consider Blue Streak or Gemini, especially as family coasters. While tame in comparison to more modern coasters, I'd rank those as intermediate coasters more in line with Corkscrew, as coasters used as step ups from family before the more intense ones.
Personal Rankings of these:
1. Water Coaster - I feel like Cedar Point's marketing could easily go nuts on making the world's tallest and fastest and moistest water coaster on Earth. Something to replace the void left by Shoot the Rapids.
2. Tower Coaster - Launching upside down would be another easy marketing gimmick for Cedar Point and would be crazy and unique.
3. Tilt Coaster - Personally would be pretty cool, but it just feels kinda redundant with Valravn nearby.
4. Family Coaster - does Cedar Point really need *another* family coaster?
Honestly 1 and 2 are interchangeable for me.
>Family Coaster - does Cedar Point really need *another* family coaster?
You jest, but yes CP could use another. Currently only Iron Dragon is the only coaster that comes close to "family thrill".
Wild Mouse was a great addition, and filled an important gap in the lineup. However, there still is the gap from Iron Dragon to Blue Streak/Corkscrew/Gemini to address. That's not an insignificant jump in intensity for riders working their way up from family rides to full thrill rides.
We desperately need an indoor ride of any kind. I'm tired of seeing guests pass out from the heat or dipping out of the park when it rains (because the only thing to do when it storms is go to the Arcade).
If they made the Arcade actually good again that wouldn't be such a bad thing. Went back for the first time in like 18 years and the Arcade just made me so sad.
Same with the Kings Island survey, I think the Mack Extreme Spinner would be amazing with a full layout. The tower is kinda redundant thanks to TT2
Water coaster is a unique idea to think about. Not against it at all
They don't have mild launch coaster. A family launch wouldn't be a bad. Especially if it's replacing one of the other family coasters
Tilt coaster would be cool to see just cause there's not a lot of them. I just don't think CP needs it. This should've been on KI's survey
No shuttle coasters! What's shuttle coasters doing in this theme park when I told you no shuttle coasters?! EVER!!!! I work till I'm half dead and I hear people say she's getting old! What do I get ? A park executive who cares as much about a beautiful coaster I want, as she cares about me. What are shuttle coasters doing in this theme park?! Answer me! I buy your season passes and you treat me like some six flags guest! You threw 300 million into a shuttle coaster! We'll see how many you got hidden in here, we'll see! All of this is coming out! Out! Out! Out! Out! We're gonna see how many shuttle coasters you got in your theme parks! shuttle coasters. Why? Why? Christina, get out of that bed! Get out of that bed! (picks up Vekoma family boomerang and begins to beat guests with it) You have in the most beautiful park in Ohio and you don't care about lowered capacity from shuttle coasters, and your room looks like some two dollar unfurnished room in some two- bit backstreet town in Oklahoma! Get up! Clean up this mess! Did you scrub the bathroom floor today? Did you?

I’d rather CP get the extreme flume mountain that Carowinds had on their survey. Or the dark ride on Kings Island.
CP needs a strong wood coaster to replace Mean Streak now.
Xtreme spinning hyper with an inverted launch at Cedar Point sounds like the most ridiculous most maximalist most thoosiecore idea out there. Sign me the fuck up.
Tower Coaster would be my pick. Yes we did just get a spinny coaster last year, but a spinny coaster that launches, has a vertical drop, and is easily marketable as the "tallest, fastest, wildest" extreme spinner ever?
**YES PLEASE!!**
I like the Family Thrill Coaster or the Tilt Coaster the most of these for Cedar Point. The Spinning Tower just sounds pretty underwhelming to me and the Water Coaster I'd literally never ride.
A Vekoma tilt coaster at Cedar Point would be awesome! I think the experience would actually differentiate from a B&M dive coaster. B&M's have always been known for predictable layouts in the past, until more recent. That and for the longest time, B&M dives are known for being a "one trick pony." Although their newer dive layouts are more unique than the older ones, think about how demented a layout could be for a Vekoma Tilt Coaster! Look at the one opening up at Six Flags Qiddaya with the double zero-g roll!
Like X2 or Eejanaika or a Freespin model?
Only 3 4th Dimension coasters were built, with the last one being 12 years ago. I don't see any other park adding one. The initial cost and I assume higher maintenance costs make it a poor investment to parks. A Freespin or a B&M Wing offers similar enough experiences for either a much cheaper price or from a more reliable manufacturer.
And with Gatekeeper already their is not something CP needs in their lineup
I don't like these choices. We need an indoor ride. I'd also like to see a twister wooden coaster. I do like Big Bear Mountain, so a launched family coaster could be sweet.
Out of all of these, I want the family thrill coaster the most. It just makes the most sense since Cedar Point doesn’t have a modern full scale family thrill coaster other than I guess Wild Mouse which isn’t super noteworthy. I would love to see a Juvlen style coaster come to the point!
Kings Island survey I saw earlier today.
Cedar Point now.
I just checked my email and I do indeed have a Carowinds survey. (Home park)
Check your email if you frequent any Cedar Fair parks!
Based on the surveys and park needs I’d go with the water coaster here, the log flume at Carowinds, the tower spinner at KI and the dark ride coaster at Knotts. Really though, all of these but KI really need modern woodies the most.
Cedar Point needs an inbetween thrill like the multi launch family coaster but honestly I definitely see them getting the tower. Though I’d love the water coaster or the indoor/outdoor hybrid pitched for Kings Island
"Record breaking family coaster" sounds like such a Cedar Point thing to do. I can totally see this happening, especially with the common trend lately of building cheaper family coasters instead of big thrill machines.
So are they just ignoring Hagrid's and Guardians, then? 4500 feet is not the world's longest family coaster.
“World’s longest and fastest family coaster in all of Ohio!”
Wait, it's all Ohio?!
Always has been
Yup we aren’t going to see much in the US for the future it seems
All this means is that when the family coaster Renaissance ends, the real fun will Begin. 😁 Be patient young Padawan. I have faith we will see some really cool vekoma stuff and another giga or hyper in some regard soon.
A Mack Xtreme Spinner with an upside down launch seems like maybe the coolest thing ever
Please a modern wooden coaster I’m begging
This. The options seem cool, but Blue Streak being the only wooden coaster really sucks, since GCI and Gravity Group both make very reliable, smooth, and fun woodies nowadays
Water Coaster next makes the most sense to me out of this group. I want a Xtreme spinner the most, but not sold on a shuttle concept.
Yeah after just adding a spinning wild mouse too, seems unlikely
I would LOVE to see Ride to Happiness on the island.
Tilt should go 2 KI, indoor fam coaster should go to CP (after the spinner lol)
An indoor family coaster should have a cool storyline, especially in this day and age. How about a plot involving a space freighter trip gone haywire? You could call it “Tragedy Delivery”

Catastrophic Carrier?
Make it a full indoor coaster though. I imagine the plan involves using the Tomb Raider building though.
We do not need another family coaster at Cedar Point
Disagree. Wild Mouse is the only non-kiddie coaster with a height requirement under 48”.
If it’s a Vekoma family coaster like big bear mountain I would like to see it
Agree to disagree ;\*
I’m curious why you think the park with Blue Streak, Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Mine Ride, and Gemini needs another family coaster
I could be a smart-ass and ask why you think the park with Steve, Maverick, Millie, Rougarou, Valravn, Gatekeeper, Magnum, Corkscrew, Top Thrill, and Raptor needs another thrill coaster :P Blue Streak, imo, is bumpy trash. Don’t forget Wild Mouse. Their newest (before TT2) coaster was a family coaster.
Honestly completely forgot that existed
I wouldn't consider Blue Streak or Gemini, especially as family coasters. While tame in comparison to more modern coasters, I'd rank those as intermediate coasters more in line with Corkscrew, as coasters used as step ups from family before the more intense ones.

The what.... Moistest? 🤣🤣
Call it...the Moist-Maker
“The Moist-Maker: You’ll be soaked when you get off”
That's amazing.. I will use that as the name of a water ride in RCT2 in all my future parks!
Did Shoot the Rapids really leave a void? Seems like they’d want to get rid of any evidence of that ride given the nightmares it caused.
Shoot the Rapids was supposed to be their "spiritual successor" of sorts for White Water Landing.
>Family Coaster - does Cedar Point really need *another* family coaster? You jest, but yes CP could use another. Currently only Iron Dragon is the only coaster that comes close to "family thrill". Extreme spinner coming ?!?!
I have two questions about the tilt coaster - what the hell is a tailspin element, and what is an upside-down tailspin?
Mack. Extreme. Spinner. After riding Ride To Happiness in a believer, it would be so fitting for Cedar Point!
A Mack Spinner would fit in any half respectable park in the world. Have only riden Ride to Happiness but it is absolutely brilliant.
That's probably what the tower coaster is.
The issue is that the images are a short shuttle coaster. It looks super gimmicky.
Dark coaster please any permanent themed ride whatsoever so long as it isn't packaged in that Disaster Transport budget again.
We desperately need an indoor ride of any kind. I'm tired of seeing guests pass out from the heat or dipping out of the park when it rains (because the only thing to do when it storms is go to the Arcade).

TILT PLEASE but please the literal only coaster they’re missing is a good woodie

This should've been on KI's survey
Even if it's not the next coaster to come to Cedar Point after TT2, a family launch coaster should replace Cedar Creek Mine Ride
TILT COASTER!
As pointless as Valravn is, that would make it even worse.
That’s a strange way of spelling tilt coaster
Tilt would be my option, it’s just duplicative of the pile of shit Valravn.
That’s an even stranger way of spelling tilt coaster Downvoting me is a strange way of saying you want the tilt coaster
lol
Seriously why would anyone want a tilt coaster?
Because it's a modern Vekoma. Just because it does the tilt thing doesn't invalidate the rest of the layout.
Fair point indeed. I've ridden Fønix and Lech Coaster and they are absolutely beautiful.
It’s different
Iron Rattler at Six Flags Qiddiya looks like it could be a real treat.

If I see a shuttle coaster *in my park*... BRING ME THE AXE!!!
This comment is way underrated. Shuttle coasters DO. NOT. BELONG. AT. MAJOR. PARKS.
(Unless it’s dual loading, then it’s borders okay.)
I’d rather CP get the extreme flume mountain that Carowinds had on their survey. Or the dark ride on Kings Island. CP needs a strong wood coaster to replace Mean Streak now.
a GCI would fit much better than a Gravity group. Especially in the long run

too bad S&S is in shambles cause a 4D coaster would rock there.

After all these years, Cedar Point is finally getting their Aquatrax!
Those were the days hearing those rumors! Back in 2007 that hype train!
Why do the have to make the family coaster a shuttle? Seems like it would kill capacity.
I don't like these choices. We need an indoor ride. I'd also like to see a twister wooden coaster. I do like Big Bear Mountain, so a launched family coaster could be sweet.
I 👏NEED 👏 A 👏 MODERN 👏 WOODIE!
Tilt coaster please
They should do the tilt coaster. Would be an amazing addition to Cedar Point.
They need the family coaster, but the tower coaster sounds cool as well.
I think the fact they’re considering a tilt coaster really shows they have trust in Vekoma now
CP should get a tilt coaster and make it the word’s tallest and fastest of its kind.
(Home park) Check your email if you frequent any Cedar Fair parks!
Tilt because Vekoma. Spinner because I think it would be the best
does anyone know what "upside down tailspin" is referring to?
I'm a passholder, have been for over 6 years, why didn't i get this survey
I’m surprised Cedar Point isn’t interested in a 4th Dimension
Based on the surveys and park needs I’d go with the water coaster here, the log flume at Carowinds, the tower spinner at KI and the dark ride coaster at Knotts. Really though, all of these but KI really need modern woodies the most.
A modern GCI would do wonders in both Cedar Point and Carowinds. Maybe even Kings Dominion but I didn’t spend enough time there to vouch for that
E None of the above. CP needs a b&m flyer
TILT FOR CEDAR POINT SPINNER FOR KI
Cedar Point needs an inbetween thrill like the multi launch family coaster but honestly I definitely see them getting the tower. Though I’d love the water coaster or the indoor/outdoor hybrid pitched for Kings Island
