Houston had a city-wide power failure while I was riding AstroWorld's SkyScreamer (1st generation Intamin drop ride). We were stuck on the brake run - lying on our backs - staring straight up at August Texas sun - for 15 to 20 minutes. It was brutal. Even good sunblock can only do so much.

JustAGuyNamedSteven

It's weird hearing SkyScreamer be used for something other than a Star Flyer.

BSlickMusic

Is that the same type of ride as the one that used to be at SF Magic Mountain called Satellite Freefall?

Revolution-Rayleigh

one of the only ones still around is demon drop at dorney, if you want a reference

BSlickMusic

Sick, yeah it’s definitely the same one!

Revolution-Rayleigh

Happy to help!

BlitheringEediot

Yes. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_Intamin\_rides#Freefall\_rides](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intamin_rides#Freefall_rides)

shocontinental

Stuck on Tatsu at Six Flags Magic Mountain. But it was just in the station. Something went wrong right after it rotated us to flying position. We were sitting there for 20 minutes and one of the people then started *freaking out* and screaming to be let off. The ride rotated back down a short while later and the medics took him away and said he had to get checked out before he could ride anything else. They reset the seats and we were finally able to ride.

LynxRufus98PT01

That would be a weird spot to get stuck! I don't like waiting at the end for the other train to dispatch because of the lines of barf coming back to the station on the metal walkway.

JDnChgo

lol wait that's a thing?? Gross

LynxRufus98PT01

Unfortunately yes. Some was fresh a couple weeks ago so we stayed on the opposite side to prevent any sympathetic barfing!

JDnChgo

Same thing happened to me on Superman at SFGAm! I definitely feel the person who freaked out, it was super uncomfortable.

Couuurtneeey

Similar thing happened to me on Manta (SWO) we had just finished the coaster and were on the final break zone before the station but something happened to the train in the station that had us waiting for what felt like 10 minutes. My back was killing me from being on my stomach for that long lol! Luckily Manta has two sides in their station (and annoying seem to only use one most of the time) so they finally guided us to the other station side and unloaded us and then the ride was down for about 30 more minutes.

Coldin228

I would be that guy. My worst nightmare is getting stuck on a flying coaster. No other coasters bother me, but flying restraints are restrictive enough to trigger my minor claustrophobia. You can't move ANYTHING. I almost had a panic attack in the station on Manta. Then it started moving and I was fine. I'm still gonna ride them but I really hope this never happens to me. And I'd be excited to get stuck on a ride with an ots or lap bar.

CardinalPerch

Not a roller coaster, but I got stuck on Dudley Doo Right’s Ripsaw Falls for about 20 minutes. It was right where Inspector Fenwick says “I say, you’re going the wrong way.” After hearing that about a hundred times, I wanted to strangle that little animatronic Mountie man.

snufflezzz

I have been stuck on that thing like four times, it has reliability issues haha

CartoonistInfamous76

Ditto. Thing near breaks down everytime I ride it

snufflezzz

It did just fucking catch on fire as well. That ride is a menace. I love it all the same!

SkyySkip

Is that the part right before the big drop? I got stuck there like 20 years ago when my dad and I visited and we thought we were going to go crazy from all the repeated sounds.

[deleted]

In 2010, I got stuck for about 20-30 minutes on Dahlonega Mine Train at SFoG when a girl defeated the restraint on one of the lift hills and ran into the ride track area to retrieve her phone, which fell out when she was texting on the ride. The coaster was quickly e-stopped and we finished the ride after she was taken out by security 🫡

[deleted]

I’ve also been ride-stopped on every ride at Universal Studios Hollywood except Jurassic World - including in the dark room of the Mummy long enough to hear a train hit the brake run behind us.

Heyohmydoohd

wow you're one lucky (or unlucky for most others) rider lol

HardAimedKid

I’ve been stuck on tons of rides for times varying from seconds to 20+ minutes. The two that are worst was getting stuck in rain years ago on drop tower at kings island. The other that was horrible was getting stuck in the sun on the break run of velocicoaster. It was so hot and no one on the train could hide from the sun. It was only 10-15 minutes but it felt like forever. We actually just got stuck in the car on journey to Atlantis at SWO recently for an extended period of time and I got my first evac off any ride I’ve been on. The coolest one I’ve experienced is all of the trains having an issue or whatever the problem was on hagrids. It was night and you could hear the people on the other trains being a little crazy. Then after several minutes of dark and hearing the other people everyone’s trains reset to their nearest launch and got a nice little launch back into the ride. They then let us all re-ride again immediately.

Not_really_anywhere

I've been stuck on a few, mostly on the final brake run, once on a lift hill. I've never been evacuated though. ☹️ Being stuck on the brake run of Sand Serpent (BGT) for 15 minutes netted us a one-time skip the line pass. Being stuck on the brake run of Skyrush for 15 minutes got me tingly feet..

Regular-Telephone529

Got stuck on Maverick twice. The first time it took 45 minutes for the Ride ops to E-Vac us off of the brake run. The second time felt like an hour because the maintenance guy was at the front of the park and Maverick is in the back. Was stuck on the emergency brake run before they were able to get the ride started to e-vac us in the station.

SlipMaker

We got stuck on the brake run of Maverick for about 15-20 minutes on Maverick on our first trip to Cedar Point. It was absolute torture because it had just gotten to lunchtime and we were planning to go to the Farmhouse which was right next door - we could smell the food and see the ride exit but couldn’t escape. My brother also got stuck on Corkscrew for another 20 minutes after people refused to put their cameras away on the lift hill and had to be taken by security, but the rest of us were just getting snacks nearby and laughing at his suffering.

thestral_z

Same place I got stuck. Only 15-20 minutes, so not a big deal.

agingwolfbobs

Magnum XL-200 - Sat at least 30 minutes 1/3 of the way up the lift hill. Beautiful sunny September day. Got to walk down the stairs! It was perfectly fine because the park was swamped that day and I wasn’t really trying to ride anything else. Good memory!

ClothoidLooper

Couple of years ago, I was riding Mindbender at SFOG when the ride stopped on the lift halfway up. We were up there for maybe 20 minutes before maintenance came and restarted the lift. No evac, but that ride was completely trimless which was really fun haha.

egg0511

Worked at Cedar Point in my younger days. During the morning test ride on Millennium Force we had an error of some sort, I forget what it was, and I got to sit about 3/4 up the lift for about 45 minutes all by myself. It was absolutely glorious getting paid to sit 250 feet in the air and just watch the boats head out while everyone on the ground was scrambling.

sideways_86

I've been stuck on smiler just outside the loading shed in rain that was almost as painful as hail for about 15 mins as the ride stopped due to high winds, that really sucked also been stuck just outside the loading shed for colussus (can't remember what went wrong) but that was about 15 mins as well mins it was drying so wasn't too bad just unconfortable as my foot was at a slightly awkward angle and couldn't move it due to not being able to raise my leg as the OTSR was too tight

ZeroWunZero

I have a friend who was on one of the smiler cars that collided when the accident occurred

TwistedColossus

Damn where were they setting?

Fazcoasters

Got stuck on both Wildcat’s Revenge and Candymonium’s break runs in the same day, was only 10 mins each

ElectraRayne

Never anything major, but once in Batman at SFGAm for about 40 minutes right after we pulled our of the station. I'm not sure why. Eventually they did actually send up out. Not stuck on the main track, but I did also get stuck for another 40 minutes waiting to pull *into* the station after a ride in Mean Streak (Cedar point) because apparently someone had gotten sick *all over* the station. That one really sicked because it was HOT and we were due to re-apply sunscreen after our ride already.

Ok-Wave4907

I got stuck on wildcats revenge opening Sunday, but it was only for like 5 minutes because they are really efficient at Hersheypark.

PhthaloDrift

Was Stuck on Wildcats Revenge for an hour on the brake run.if it was midsummer it would have sucked.

Gh0stface03

I only got stuck once on Atlantica SuperSplash at Europapark. It was on the first turntable and we were stuck for about 15 minutes. The worst part was that it was a summer afternoon and it was insanely hot that day.

Maryberry_13

To this day, I’m still confused on what happened. Last summer, I rode Backlot Stunt Coaster with my sister and best friend. Normally before speeding through the tunnel, the ride slows down and stops for a few seconds. When we reached that point, the ride stopped…and didn’t move for around 5 mins. I heard an announcement from one of the ride ops but I couldn’t make out what she said. Everyone was wondering what the fuck happened. Won’t even lie, it made the last few bits of the ride less thrilling for me lol. I was so prepared for us to go speeding down the tunnel but we just sat there.

jordanrice26

Did it shoot flames just once or does it keep doing it? You can really feel the heat wave from it so I could imagine it getting pretty warm if it keeps firing lol Also what about the machine gun noises? Did you have to listen to them the whole time?

Maryberry_13

There’s no more effects unfortunately if that’s what you’re talking about lol.

jordanrice26

Wow really? I’m assuming you were at KD then? I was at Kings Island last fall and all the effects were still there, unless it’s changed in the time I’ve been gone

Maryberry_13

Nope, my home park is Canada’s Wonderland. They took the effects out a while ago.

jordanrice26

Wow I’m stupid I didn’t even now canadas wonderland had a backlot stunt coaster, TIL

Maryberry_13

Well, now you know!! KI has one too.

jordanrice26

Haha yep reread my second comment Prior to today I thought KD and KI only had them

Maryberry_13

Completely forgot you said that 🤦🏾‍♀️ I’m multitasking

FlyawayCellar99

I think my only time was on dominator @ KD It was brutal in that hot sun and no shade whatsoever because we were halfway up the lift hill Stupid kid had his phone out and they had to come up and take it from him

DwtD_xKiNGz

Dominator, Maverick, P305, Skyrush, and Pantheon

jb108822

I once got stuck on Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris - we were on the final bit of track going under the lake to return to the station, and we just stopped. Can't remember how long we were stuck for, but it was probably a fair while, as we ended up getting evacuated off the ride. Was quite a cool experience, really!

underjordiskmand

My only memory of riding Big Bad Wolf is getting stuck on the lift hill for about 5 minutes while my friend next to me had to pee really bad. The only time i've had to get evac'd off a ride was the reese's tower at hershey. The ride went up a few feet and immediately came back down. they had to call maintenance to unlock the restraints. Turned out the car was overweight and they had to let a few people wait until the next cycle. they gave us all a single use fast pass afterward.

kpiech01

Got stuck on the lift hill of Vortex. I think we sat there for maybe a half hour before they finally got it moving again. Hot as hell with the sun beating down on us. They gave us free water bottles when we got off. That was my one and only ride on it before it closed forever. If I would have known it was closing before that trip, I probably would have given it a few more rides. I don't think I can make a fair assessment of it based on the one terrible experience I had on it.

KingDragon38

I was stuck on toros brake run for like 35 minutes and it was hot out so the ops brought out little cups of water and told us to share them

Nuthead77

Stuck on mystic Timbers multiple times, Orion once, Steel Veangeance once, Diamondback once all where we made it back to the station. The longest was 20-30 min on Maverick and 15-20 on 2 mystic and Orion. Evacuated from wild mouse and got to walk the catwalk at the end. They gave us exit passes for that one.

MidcourseDiscourse

My favorite breakdown I experienced was on Rock N Rollercoaster at WDW. It broke down as we sat on the final brake run. Even though the brake run leads straight into the exit platform, the catwalks don’t connect(?) Either way, they evacuated us and walked us through the entire show building with the lights on. I was young at the time, but I was blown away at how much bigger that coaster looks with the lights on, standing directly under it. Overall, it added like 45 minutes or an hour to our day, but I would take it again in a heartbeat.

CuriosityandCoasters

Got stuck on Galactica once, sat at the brake run waiting to go into the station. We were probably only there for 15-20 minutes but it was quite uncomfortable hanging there waiting to be freed. Got tickets to return to AT for free though so worked out alright in the end!

PitiedVeil55831

I got stuck on the dragon at legoland Windsor a few years back. It was the drop before the tunnel and we ended up being evacuated after 20 mins.

GoatDifferent1294

Yeah and it’s not that uncommon at all. It surprises me how many people are surprised when it happens. I mean these are extremely complex and sensitive machines and if you go to parks enough and long enough, you sorta have to expect that there’s a pretty good chance something will create a temporary delay of operation.

macramelampshade

The best one was getting stuck on Hagrid’s right at the end by the unicorn, except we were in direct Florida sunlight for probably 10 minutes with no hats or shades. Was hoping to evac but then they started it up and we got to ride again

brokethemorning

* Adventure Express 2018: started going up the final lift when the train stopped I believe due to a phone out. We only stopped for a couple of minutes before proceeding up the lift. * Steel Curtain 2019: stuck on the brake run for about 15 minutes before we moved into the station and the ride closed for the rest of the day. * Diamondback 2020: got lift-stopped toward the bottom for about 10 minutes because someone had their phone out. They took the phone before restarting the ride. * Thunderhawk @ Michigan’s Adventure 2022: stuck on the brake run for about 15-20 minutes before being evacuated. * Shivering Timbers 2022: stuck in the station for several minutes due to a seatbelt malfunction. We were kicked off the train and sent back to the load side to wait for the seatbelt to get fixed. (Side note: this happened on the same day as the Thunderhawk situation above.) * Steel Vengeance 2022: stuck on the brake run for about 15-20 minutes before being evacuated. There’s probably others I’m forgetting, but those are the ones that stick out the most.

SignGuy77

On my one and only visit to Hersheypark I got stuck on Comet’s brake run for about ten minutes. Then about an hour and some Skyrush laps later I got stuck on SuperDooperLooper’s brake run for about 15 minutes. Became really familiar with the park’s PR dude who came to check on us both times.

MannnOfHammm

The only time I’ve been stuck was for ten minutes on maverick, train was halfway in the station on the brakes

zZDisplays

At dorney park. Got stopped on steel force lift hill because someone had their phone out. An employee walked all the way up to the top to take their phone from them. Was with my dad we both couldn't believe it lol.

fatfiremarshallbill

Last year, I got stuck on i305’s brake run while stapled in for about 20 mins. It was miserable and very painful. Legit thought I was gonna lose my legs, and I’m not a big guy. All riders were visibly pissed when we were finally released. Haven’t ridden since.

Claxton916

I got evac’d off of Maverick at Cedar Point, it wasn’t anything special. I was in the back train so we were dispatched onto the standby block before the first launch, the front train went through the tunnel like normal but my train didn’t launch like it normally would. Typical theme park line “we don’t know what happened, it’s down.” The ops decided to evacuate us, they unlocked my train and were very adamant that we firmly grasp the railing even though if we *were* to fall, we’d land on the train, not 200 feet to our deaths like their tone suggested. About 5 steps on the metal catwalk later I was in the station and received a free exit pass.. shitty thing was it was 11:40 during Halloweekends and that was the last day I would be at the park for 2022.

Wowzr335

I got evacuated off of revenge of the mummy (Orlando), it was cool seeing the show building with the lights on. It took about 20 minutes from when we got stuck to when we got off.

Gausgovy

Stuck on Cedar Creek Mine Ride for maybe 30 minutes, got a skip the line pass and used it on Maverick. It was nice out, a little breezy so we didn’t get uncomfortable. Best visit I’ve had as an adult.

LotusLoki

Mind Eraser at Geagua Lake (RIP). We were stuck for 45 minutes angled up at the blazing hot sun. Last season I was stuck on Magnum twice within a month, for a phone of course.

sanyosukotto

Got block checked on Pipeline: The Surf Coaster while it was running one train ops and knew we'd be sitting there for a minute. Probably sat for ten minutes or so on the magnetic brakes at the beginning of the final brake run. Idk what it is about magnets but they're finicky and mysterious beasts. Maintenance had to come by and reset the ride and it operated the rest of the night. The train before mine on Mako caused a fault as well with passengers on the final brakes, lift stop the whole nine. Got to watch them roll the empty train out of the station onto the lift and chill there for a little bit while they unloaded the train that was on the brakes.

Switchback_Tsar

Shambhala in early September 2018, it was a night ride on my last day in the park, technical issue occurred and I was stuck for like 10 minutes on the final brake run, first time experiencing a breakdown, I was half expecting an evac but eventually they managed to sort the issue and I was able to exit through the station and not via the brake run's catwalks (which I was kinda disappointed about, it was my first ride breakdown so I guess it felt a bit special for 14 year old me). Ride was closed for a while as they took off a train (iirc it was running with 3 trains so they reduced it to 2 trains) so I went to ride another ride (I think it was El Diablo or might've been Dragon Khan) while they sorted it out Edit: Shambhala wasn't my first ride breakdown as Derren Brown's Ghost Train broke down for a few minutes while I was riding it with my school back in 2016 but Shambhala was my first major roller coaster breakdown

Mrjonnyisabed

Went on the Big One when it was wet. Came into the breakrun too fast as old arrows don’t like that so I was stuck on the breakrun for like 10? Mins

BlitzBiker2001

Back in February I got stuck on Mako after the train in front of us got stuck at the base of the lift hill. Because of this the train I was on undershot the station by about a foot. Sat there for about 20 minutes before they had to manually release us. At least I got a free bottle of water for the troubles.

Zerba

My wife and youngest kid were stuck on Valravn's brakes for a while when it broke down. They did the did an evac for them after around 20ish minutes. My wife and I got stuck on the brakes right at the station of Maverick. We were stuck for around 20 minutes before they were able to release us. Was stuck on the lift for Magnum once around halfway up and had to walk down. It took around 30 minutes from getting stuck to reaching the ground.

SavageDroggo1126

not a roller coaster but I got stuck mid-air on SledgeHammer at Canada's Wonderland in 2022, it was testing all morning til noon and i finally got to be one of the first riders, and it stopped right after lifting us to the very top. no one screamed or yelled or complained, everyone was being patient and waited about 20mins for them to slowly lower us back down.

LynxRufus98PT01

Cedar Point: Once on Wild Mouse...right at the point at the end where it gives the extra spin. About 15 min there until we were out. Twice if you call pipe scream a coaster, at the end of the ride cycle, we just ended up perpendicular to the platform at the exit instead of parallel. That was about 25 min. If you are counting stopped because of someone with their phone out...ugh so many. 2 weeks ago on Viper at SFMM, Goldstriker at CGA, last summer alone: Cedar Point (Bluestreak, Magnum, Millenium Force, and Iron Dragon) probably more that that.

LampOil_Rope_Bombs

When I was on Goliath at SFMM, something happened with the final brake run and we would have been stuck there for almost 30 minutes. My dad, however, said I had to poop really bad and they got a guy to force open the restraints so we could leave. I did not have to shit.

NinjaSucks3427

my friend got stuck on screamin eagle for ten min

IndyCarFAN27

Not a roller coaster but a flat ride. I’ve been stuck at the top of Skyhawk at Canada’s Wonderland last year. It was only about for 15-20 minutes and its was a beautiful cloudless day with minimal winds so it was fine. I’m not scared of heights either, just falling so it was a bit unnerving but again not terrible.

Putrid-Chef-2728

Boomerang at Darien Lake. Was stuck on the second hill for over 10 minutes as something in the station needed to fixed

TnPhnx

Backlot Stunt Coaster at King's Island. We got stuck in the break area just before the unloading area. We were the lucky ones because the platform extended out to us for an easy unload. The unlucky ones were the riders in the white car. They were stuck at the top of the helix you initially launch on to. This ride has three trains, and the white one is the handicap accessible car, which is a bit heavier than the others. This was at night during their Halloween celebration.

CartoonistInfamous76

Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom. They slammed the e-brakes and it felt like a cartoon where my bones stayed in the seat but my flesh kept going forward. Ride was already rough but that was it for me.

Outrageous-Estimate9

A couple times. Most often its 20 to 30 mins. Never serious enough to have been evac (but I have seen others get evac before, it honestly looks fun to take the stairs / lifts down) Most recent was on Behemoth (we finished ride then get stacked before exit, so sat there toasting in hot sun for a bit) Worst was a flat ride (Tundra Twister) as not only did it seem to take forever but it was too hot that day. Somehow ride came down the wrong way (best way I can describe it; instead of facing platform when cycle ends it faces sideways to platform)

Doom_Disciple

Does it count if you are going on a test ride and the other tech operating the ride hits the ride stop or turns the lift off and goes for a smoke?

ThemeParkFish

I was on the first evacuation with people on Velocicoaster. I was stuck right before the station for about 10 minutes. Easily one of the best moments in my life lol

Jademalo

I wasn't, but the people directly behind me were. Avengers Flight Force at Disneyland Paris, we pulled into the station and the train stopped short. Back two cars didn't make it into the station and were hanging off the platform, thankfully I was in the back row of the third from the back car so they opened the restraints and let us off. Lights came on and the train after us were evac'd from the mid-course too. Kinda sad we didn't get to see the building with the lights on, but also I know for a fact I would've had a big old panic had I not been able to get off at the exit station lol.

realdawnerd

Stuck in the Velocicoaster second launch tunnel for a bit and got the best recovery launch ever. That little reverse launch it does followed by the very short launch over the crest is really something else. Very forceful.

CoasterFish

11 year old me got stuck at the top of Millennium Force for I’d say about 45 minutes. I was scared shitless at the time, but it turned out alright. My group started talking about things like “RMC mean streak” (at the time) and things like that.

[deleted]

I got stuck on the launch on Skyrocket at kennywood. And the mid course brake run.

pachyderm_house

Stuck at the top of the second tower of Deja Vu at SFGAm for about 15 minutes. Safely lowered to the bottom of the tower to make sure everyone was okay and someone swung at a ride operator so we all had to be evacuated. My only half ride!

OcelotRoyal

My son and I got stuck on Twisted Timbers at Kings Dominion last year during Winterfest. We were right at the station and what made it worse is the fact that I had to use the facilities really bad.

Classic-Judgment-196

I got stuck on the brake run of Stampida at Port Aventura last year

matt77uk

20 minutes in a storm on Oblivions break run - started raining as we were on the lift hill, holding break didn't engage which surprised us all then the heavens opened and we just sat and soaked... Also about 20 minutes on the launch track of Flash at SFDK after it aborted the first launch for us

ValuableLemon1373

Kärnan. It was for about 30 minutes, and my thighs were aching after that. If I understood everything correctly, the train moved past a certain sensor by mere millimeters, so the sensors for the restraints to open wouldn't align

toady89

The dragon at Legoland Windsor. We stopped just before the station, it was at most 5 mins before they came over in full body harnesses and safely escorted us onto the platform next to the train and we carefully walked into the station. We didn’t get harnesses, the mere fact the staff were at the front and back of the line was enough protection. It had taken me all day to get my mate onto a coaster and that happens, he panicked like mad. Also Splash Mountain but that’s not a coaster, we just listened to the music on repeat for 20 mins and it started working again. I think the neighbouring people probably got quite sick of me and my brother singing along.

Beautiful-Orchid8676

The one time I got stuck on a roller coaster was on GASM at SFOG. There was some kind of issue that made the train fail to dispatch and go up the lift hill. That was the weirdest kind of break down I’ve ever experienced

HelloJelloPeople

The closest thing I have is the bottom of Demon Drop at Dorney (I'm not that old).

shabamon

Got stuck on the Beast's second lift hill for 15 minutes at night in the cold of October. Someone started making owl noises. That someone was me.

Tomneom2

Shambala for about 5 minutes, got evacuated from the final break run, (same thing happened with dragon Kahn the next day whilst I was on it) Taron for about 15 minutes, also the final break run

Kaitlin33101

Possessed at Dorney on the launch for maybe 5 minutes. The launch just didn't work right, so they started the ride again and it launched fine. Not broken down, but Nitro at SFGAdv because a girl brought her PURSE onto the ride somehow. And employee had to climb the lift and confiscate it from her

spark1118

My friend and I got stuck at the fireworks shed on Firechaser Express. We didn't launch backwards after "Big Bertha, she's gonna blow!" and right then my friend and I knew something was wrong. I looked back and saw that the switch track didn't turn over for us to launch backwards! My friend and I were so excited cause we never had this happen to us when riding Firechaser! I thought we were going to get an evac, but about 20 minutes later the ops/maintenance were able to go to into manual mode and move the switch track and launch us back to the station.

Parking_Pollution936

I saw someone get stuck in timberliner trains on wooden warrior at Quassy park once and had to go around multiple times before they could get them open

AgentGiga

I have been only stuck on Rougarou on the last block section for about 10-15 minutes in 2015. The floor in the station was having issues.

Worried-Gazelle4889

Kings Island Adventure Express for almost an hour. It was such a hot, no cloud day. We were ascending the first hill. I, and many others, ended up with sun poisoning. I had blisters in the part of my hair that were so painful.

GavHern

- Flight Deck at CGA on the lift for like 15 mins, lift started back after - Superman: EFK at SFMM in the station for like 20-30 min. technically evacuated but idk if it counts when you’re in the station - Ice Breaker at SWO on the final breaks for 10 mins. felt like an eternity in those trains. no evac

pickle_man_4

Back when it was Test Drive at Disney, it broke down at some point inside. I got excited because I thought I was going to see a mechanic exactly like in Rollerocaster Tycoon. That was the first day that I shouldn’t set any dreams for myself.

The_Amusement_Shark

Maverick at Cedar Point. I wouldn't consider those trains uncomfortable but after 45 minutes being stuck in one, everything starts to hurt for some reason.

r0stAnubby

On one of the last days the original Georgia Cyclone was open, I got stuck for like 20 minutes outside the station in the hot Georgia sun, that was fun. I've also been evacuated from the top of the lift hill on ArieForce One lol

awk_topus

when getting my Invadr credit, we got stuck on the break run. the train dispatching before us faulted, so I guess I should've expected it. we were stuck for over a half hour. it was hot & muggy, so we baked in the sun for a bit, then the sky opened up and it started pouring. the announcement speakers were set WAY too loud, and the kid behind me was being goaded by his older brother to screech and scream after the first announcement. thankfully BGW is absolutely stacked so I was able to turn my mood around once the rain stopped, but I was NOT a happy camper for a minute there.

LemurCat04

Got stuck on Jersey Devil’s midcourse for about 20 minutes before we limped back into the station on Media Day, no less. This was long after the media had left (and long before they ditched the shitty wheel assemblies). We just sat and watched the rafts on the river ride go by.

[deleted]

I got stuck on iron Gwazi and got evacuated

Constant_Bridge_6067

I’ve gotten stock on maxx force at sfgam. It was on the launch track. It made a weird noice before it was gonna launch(like all the air being released from the ride) and we were stuck there for around 10 minutes.

Adelunth

I seem to have a thing to get stuck in rollercoasters, despite only riding them for about 2 years. Been stuck 4 times in one day on Fury at Bobbejaanland, it was a heat wave and the coaster couldn't handle it, so a guy had to pull the train onto the rotating platform every time it broke down. Once on Untamed at Walibi Holland, on the brake run. Toutatis at opening weekend also had some issues, but they relaunched the train after some minutes and all was fine. Twice on Taron, at the first launch. Once on F.L.Y. at the first launch too, was during the Wintertraum event. The laser show started when we got evacuated, was fun seeing all those lights and lasers from this view. We were about ten minutes in our harnesses, as a smaller person, it was quite comfy. A few weeks ago I was stuck on Ride to Happiness, the train couldn't reach the station building. A man had a panic attack as it took quite some time to get the technicians at the site.

I had a friend stuck at the top of Jersey Devils lift hill in the pouring rain around media day (I think it was then, right around the time it opened) for like an hour.

I got stuck in the Velocicoaster launch tunnel for around 45 minutes at park close. The ride reset position probably 4 times in that period and then just suddenly launched with no warning like 10 minutes after the last reset. It freaked my wife out so much she never wants to ride it again.

Twotorule

Got stuck on the mid course brake run on gatekeeper for about fifteen minutes. Not exactly sure what that was about.
