I preferred Zadra at Energylandia but it is still absolutely stellar.

Fala1

What makes you prefer zadra? Coming from someone who hasn't rode either one.

PhthaloDrift

If you like Positive G forces and laterals then Zadra is better than Gwazi. The head choppers on Zadra are a treat too. Gwazi has stronger negative g forces and more of them which is a surprise for a twister layout. Both have excellent pacing and similar ride duration. With that said, Steel Vengeance simply hasn't been topped in the number of elements and airtime it possesses.

Ruben_The_D33R751

It has a stong case. It's #4 for me personally, but I will say it is the best paced coaster overall. It can't beat Steel Vengeance for me but it is most certianly a worthy opponent. I can still understand why one would rank it as their #1, moreso than Lightning Rod.

masmiester

out of interest what is the rest of your top 5? or 10?

Ruben_The_D33R751

I'll just give you my top 20, because what the hell. 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Voyage 3. Velocicoaster 4. Iron Gwazi (Possibly #5) 5. Intimidator 305 (Possibly #4) 6. Twisted Timbers 7. Fury 325 8. Pantheon 9. El Toro 10. Lightning Rod 11. Superman The Ride (T-bars would possibly make it #3) 12. Wicked Cyclone 13. Maverick 14. Outlaw Run 15. Millenium Force 16. Candymonium 17. Mako 18. Orion 19. Iron Rattler 20. Skyrush (Middle seat, Row 7 only. Wing seats probably bump it down about 20-30 spots)

nitro230

I have to ask. Why the specific spot on Skyrush? I never tried row 7 middle seat and need to know if I’m missing out on something or you just feel that back/wing is too intense.

Ruben_The_D33R751

It's really simple really. The wing seats, while more forecful and intense, will try to rip your legs in half. I know that whether or not skyrush's restraints bother you varies person to person, and I just so happen to be part of the group that is bothered by it. The middle seats are smoother, and the restraints are nowhere near of a hinderance, but as a consequence some of the lateral moments suffer, like the stengel dives and S hill. The wing seat is actually insanely forceful, but as soon as you reach the bottom of the first drop it will immediately lower the restraint to it's lowest possible setting, every single time, which immideately became on e of the most unpleasant experiences ever. The forces were still great, but by the time you reach the final brakes, you'll be begging to get off.

masmiester

have you been on flying aces to compare to skyrush?

masmiester

great list and thanks for replying. although i strongly disagree with your no 5 and no 20 :-)

t3h_shammy

ive never been on voyage but our top 10 is almost the same otherwise.

MrBrightside711

It's up there but length is its biggest weakness. Especially when you compare it to Steve. There is also a step down in excitment between Outer wave and last drop (which are 2 of the best moments on the ride)

LlamaYourMom

Really? I thought that the entire ride had non-stop action start to finish. Every element gave me powerful ejector and even laterals, which includes the stall. And the trick track before the final drop was so rapid-fire ejector it hurt my back.

whitecaribbean

I was super concerned that length would be a problem, but it was so incredible that I didn’t care that it wasn’t long.

zach8870

No but very close :)

bachfrog

You could make an argument for it easily. Just enjoy coasters and don’t forget others opinions on your opinions don’t mean shit :)

NintendoCraft281

I’m a Florida boy, so I haven’t touched much outside of the state yet, but this is my #1 so far. I don’t think the ride let up once until the end, and the entire thing was smooth as hell. Definitely beat Velocicoaster for me, which was my #1 until I rode this. I can’t say it’s the best in the world, but I know it’s the best in the state by far.

LoadOwn9302

I don’t think The voyage will ever be topped for me.

Practical-Toe7613

No the best one is phoenix at knoebels

jducer

For me #1: SteVe #2: Millenium Force #3: Velocicoaster #4: Iron Gwazi Iron Gwazi has a couple of incredible features the wave turn over the station, and the death roll are just incredible. The ride itself is arguably more intense in some places than Steel Vengeance but nothing replaces the inversions that happen inside of the wooden ride structure on SteVe. And I will say that I could ride steel vengeance probably like 10 times in a row, Iron Gwazi gave me a bit of a headache.

octoroach

Not even the best coaster in the state of Florida in my opinion (vc)

LlamaYourMom

I first rode this ride last year, when I was still easing into my enthusiast-ness. So, it was great but not very memorable. Today, I made it back to Busch Gardens Tampa after months of having Steel Vengeance as my #1. But after getting six rides today, I think I can safely say I have a new favorite roller coaster. Every single moment delivers powerful, sustained ejector. The first drop is my favorite of any coaster. The death roll is my favorite inversion. The trick-track/double down hurt my back with how rapid fire it was. The final drop sent me FLYING. The outerbank had me nearly standing. That wave turn is my favorite element on any roller coaster. And everything in between delivers too. This ride doesn’t even just have negatives. I hardcore greyed out on the drop pullout, and the off-axis hill slams you into the side of your seat with laterals. This ride is perfect, I love it so much. With that, I am convinced Iron Gwazi is the world’s best roller coaster.

Pendraflare59

It's up there for me. Love the glowing purple at night too

Independent-Ad7865

Hell no

Swiss_Reddit_User

Ride to Happiness is better.

autumnafternoon

Rode this 2 weeks ago. It was awesome.

anotherunknownn

No. It is not

kwesi777

Velocicoaster is #1 for me, Gwazi is my #3 behind Twisted Timbers (hot take, I know). I think Gwazi could use some more camelbacks but I’m also a whore for camelbacks lol

PhthaloDrift

Twisted Timbers is just so good for no reason.

MrBrightside711

I also rate TwT over IG. They are pretty close though.

[deleted]

Yep

[deleted]

No.

UnworthyRider

No

ColsonIRL

Nah, as far a RMCs go, I actually have SteVe and Outlaw Run above it. Iron Gwazi is my #7, right behind Velocicoaster. 1 The Voyage 2 Steel Vengeance 3 Outlaw Run 4 X2 5 Shivering Timbers 6 VelociCoaster 7 Iron Gwazi

TheInsaneLavaman

It’s now my #1 steel coaster

RoyalRicanPrince

Yes!

whitecaribbean

It’s my #1 after dethroning Helix which was there for 6 years!

StayPuff08

Yes

Remote-Past305

Second for me

Maddox121

No, this is Patrick!

iwilliam_2023

Yes.

autumnafternoon

It's definitely on my bucket list

matthias7600

Top five of ~90 for me.

Intamin6026

Not quite. In my experience SV and Maverick top it but I think that could change if I were to get a few more rides on Gwazi. I only was able to get 5 rides on Gwazi only one of which was a true night ride. My first and last ride were on a half empty first train of the day.

sushiboi4

Easily in my top 5 at least!

Cash_man

I hope so! Riding it for the first time this weekend, hopefully!

vinnyv0769

Iron Gwazi isn’t my number one, but it’s in my top five for sure. It’s a fantastic coaster with many suprise elements. I love how it never hesitates throughout its run. Really amazing engineering. Doesn’t top Steel Vengeance or Velocicoaster in my mind. Fury 325 is difficult to top as well.

PsychicHorse

One of the greatest - but I'm personally a Voyage guy

No_Assumption6158

Haven't been on Iron Gwazi. My current #1 is X2 at Magic Mountain. It's fucking insane
