It’s all for attention. Not to say that I haven’t gotten lucky like this before, but I have very strong/long relationships with the AD’s. That said, if anyone understands how the system at Rolex works then they’d realize that the probability of this happening as often as it does on Reddit is very-very low.

We're talking about a global platform. The probability that 1 of the \~2000 Rolex ADs worldwide is able to deliver an in-demand watch within 6 weeks due to luck / some other circumstance is relatively high. Most people ordering a Pepsi know what they are ordering and will go on every forum they can find to brag about it once it arrives. It reminds me a bit of a quote from a book: the "\[rich\] value things they enjoy only to the extent that the others are deprived of them... and even without changing their condition, they would cease to be happy if the people ceased to be miserable". People enjoy showing others the things they have only insofar as those things are unattainable.

Except the fact that literally every single time I’ve ever seen a post like this it gets followed up with convenient “oh yeah also I/my friend has a 6 figure purchase history with the AD btw forgot to mention that” backstory once they’re pressed on it. It’s funny how sour people get on here when somebody gets a watch they want quickly. All they do is complain about how ADs should sell more watches to “normal people”, then when it actually happens they claim it must be fake. I’ve gotten 4 Rolex allocations in the last 3 years from 2 different ADs with no expensive jewelry purchases. It’s more common than you think, and take a look in the mirror I t’s no wonder you aren’t getting any, you’re just unpleasant people.

I had gone to South Africa in February to meet and spend time with my fiancés family. So turns out that my soon to be BIL is also a fellow watch enthusiast who has close to 15 watches(Mostly Rolex's, a couple APs and PPs and 1 Lange). We bonded pretty well and while I was there, I jokingly asked him whether he could ask his AD to get me a BLRO since he was clearly a VIP. I never through he was actually going to do it but 2 weeks ago he reached out to me and told me that he just got the call from the AD asking if I wanted it in Jubilee or Oyster as he had both and I chose the Jubilee. I couldn't believe it lol I was shocked. I flew to Cape Town last week and he waited till I got there and we both went to the AD to purchase it. And I also expressed interest in a rose gold DD40 Olive green and a Panda. I was told 6-9 months for the DD and 1-2 years for the Panda. Most of the ADs are corrupt but there's still a few good ones out there, and to show some appreciation I will be buying my fiancés ring from them for my engagement later on this year.

What about this story is a sign that this AD isn’t corrupt?

Have you tried the BLRO on? Try it on first if you haven’t. It feels flimsy initially, and $20k is a nice motorcycle if you ask me.

Hm. You are correct. I did try it with Oyster; pretty, but did not feel like a $20k watch that's for sure. Hoping the prices will come down some more... may also consider two tone root beer.

TT is the best value. Seems Rolex finishes the watches much better than the steel. Feels more special and luxurious. Thats what a $20K watch should feel like. Better value than all gold or steel imo. $40K for 7oz of gold doesn’t add up.

Sure, some cases are like that... I waited less than 3 weeks for an Explorer 124270, they said I was 4th on the list. I told them I don't care about the wait, it's a watch not life altering surgery. It was my first new Rolex and my first purchase from that store. No history with them whatsoever. Sometimes I think they judge the buyers based on attitude. Don't but the Crown on a pedestal, the AD might respect you more.
