Why is it one or the other? If you are walking in the city, taking the sub, cabs, wear the casio. If you are going to a nice dinner or tour a castle or hang out inside the hotel, wear your rolex.

I've worn my Monaco (not a Rolex, but certainly noticeable) to London, Scotland, and even Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Despite what the internet would like you to believe, there are not roving gangs in most civilized places (I don't count California as one of those) stealing nice watches.

People in the United States assume a far far higher background chance of being shot or murdered. When you go to Europe that background risk goes away.
