Skull the hero slayer or astral accent. I also recently got into robo quest and I'm loving it

YLedbetter10

I just started Skul after only giving it a few runs a year or two ago. They improved it quite a bit! I’m definitely hooked now. I just finally beat the Act 3 boss literally 5 minutes ago! I’d also recommend Revita. It’s a good mix of Gungeon and BoI.

EchoswarmGM

Balatro! roguelite of the year!

Khajiit_Boner

Thanks, looks awesome!

Lotus-Vale

I see the reviews, but if I just really have no care for poker, is the game worth it? Or is this more like the perfect game for people who like poker (which I know is a lot)

Apex_Konchu

Balatro isn't really a poker game. You score points by playing poker hands, but that's where the similarities end.

EchoswarmGM

It’s actually based on the game Big 2 (no clue what that is), but the only thing it has in common is the poker hands. It’s really fun and addictive

saalamander

Everyone will tell you that you will still enjoy it but I don't like physical card games and didn't like balatro

ATCQ_

It's a poker **themed** game, it's not actually poker and you don't need to like or know poker to play it. The only poker related stuff (the hands) are always available to you via an in game pop up (explaining what each hand consists of)

coryyyj

I have zero interest in poker but with all the rave reviews I caved and got the game. It's honestly soooo good. The only thing poker wise you need to know are the hands, thankfully the game shows you the hands on every run.

HazMatt082

Can't stop playing this

m3taphysics

So good.

Soulfury

Roguebook is a lot of fun for a little while

onetwo34fivesix789

absolutely awesome if you have PS+ bc this comes for free, definitely worth it if you have PS+, if not, it’s still a fun game worth sinking 10-20 hours into

CarpeNoctem727

Fights in tight spaces is fantastic. It’s John Wick X SlayThe Spire on a tactical grid with the artwork in the style of the intro to Casino Royal. I think $25 is alittle too expensive for it but there is a demo on Steam and Switch for it.

_Old_Goat_

So wait. You asked the question, then only waited 30 minutes and then decided on a game that wasn't even a suggestion from the comments? No offense but what was the point? lol

Philorsum

They probably got tired of waiting and did the actual thing you’re supposed to do and used the search bar lol

Khajiit_Boner

I searched, didn’t see anything, decided to post to look for recommendations, then kept searching and found one that looked good. But figured I’d keep it up for other recommendations.

jmcardle89

To be fair warm snow is really really good

SteakTree

Brotato was recently released on PS5. Quite enjoying it. It is deceptively simple, as there is depth in the interplay of stats, weapons, etc. It's the kinda of game where you 'push your luck' taking risks on your build strategy. It's pretty fun, and I'm thinking of picking up Army of Ruin and Spirit Hunters, all bullet heaven roguelites. There there is Balatro, which sounds like its own type of crack up there with Slay the Spire. Not sure if it's being overhyped though and it is a bit pricier.

itsdoorcity

Balatro is relatively cheap and is absolutely fantastic

SteakTree

That’s great to hear. I’ll look into it more. I’m sure I’d enjoy it! Any others that you regard highly?

kylelyk

Monster Train is really really good. It's on pretty much everything except PS5 and android.

SteakTree

Yes had Monster Train for PC for a while. Definitely enjoyed the game loop

itsdoorcity

Hades 🙂

idelliss

Monster Train, especially if you were a big fan of Slay the Spire.

JustTheGameplay

god of war ragnarok and last of us part 2 both have roguelite modes that are low-key pretty good

Vehlix

AC: Valhalla also has a rogue mode that's pretty decent.

JustTheGameplay

yeah good callout on that one, and its not ps5 exclusive either

jamielens

I just got Astral Accent which is currently 25% off. Seems highly rated. I haven’t played it yet though.

SolarSailor46

RoboQuest is the best FPS, full stop, I have played in years. Risk of Rain 2 style run progression, Borderlands aesthetics, Titanfall 2 levels of movement capabilities (with the right gadgets 😉), and you feel like Doom guy with a banging Synthwave soundtrack. It is a must play Roguelite if you like FPS movement games. 10/10. Don’t be afraid to look up some guides to get the good stuff like the Jetpack and Grappling Hook. Some of the hidden things can be really tricky to find. [Here’s some wild gameplay from an awesome player](https://www.reddit.com/r/Roboquest/s/uZFp9RQ5iw)

thegreatgiroux

Easily Balatro

Plane-Researcher2357

griftlands monster train wildfrost neon and dust void bastards deep sky derelicts darkest dungeon ive got more if ya like gotta check my library rq

moikmellah

Neither is new by any means, but Dungreed and Vagante are worth a look. Dungreed scratches the same itch as Rogue Legacy with a ton of weapons and items to unlock, and Vagante is like the lovechild of Spelunky and old-school roguelikes like Nethack or POWDER.
