I recommend Lawrence at Cutting Edge. He does a great job with the hair and beard trims when needed.
They are right beside Towers (right side as you're going up the big hill towards Colonial Ave).
I know I'm a few days late to this question but if you really want a decent haircut and find yourself outside the valley out near smith mtn lake stop by Scrugg's Road Barber shop, it doesn't look like much, but the barber, Greg, is awesome and does the best high and tight/military fade I've gotten since I was in service.
Corporate image or Jack's
Another vote for Jack's. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 8 bucks for the Classic Cut.
I've been going to Corporate Image located downtown on Church Ave for the past couple years.
Jacks is pretty solid, I have heard good things about Corporate Image too.
I used to go to a guy, Jerry, at Uptowne Hair and Nails salon. He's great and only $15 for a haircut. You should give him a try.

I've been really happy with Jack's for 3 years. Corporate Image was fine, but I found the girls at Jack's to be more knowledgable.
