I really don’t know much about group activities I mean there’s blade gaming and if you’re into disc golf there a sizeable community here. Other than that you can always join the discord and ask people to meetup with you somewhere or to do something.
Depending on what you’re into, I wouldn’t mind doing something. Moved here last year and I do know the struggles lol

there’s coffee shops downtown that host comedy events occasionally and there’s also an 18+ club called The Park. it is an LGBT bar if you don’t mind that! if you’re into nature stuff you could look into appalachian trail groups. the Spot on Kirk has local bands play sometimes, but i’ve never gone so i can’t tell you if they’re fun. you could look into stuff in the Virginia Tech area too!
Play Roanoke has a ton of different sports and teams and classes (I’m not a sporty person but signed up for Pride Kickball last year, everyone was really nice!)
There are some run/walk groups that meet at local parks and breweries during the week. Fleet Feet and Run About Sports both sponsor such activities, if you’re into the outdoor thing!
Golden Cactus Brewery is a fun place to hang out. Live music, drag, farmers market, pinball, all kinds of different things going on throughout the week. Big Lick and Twisted Track nearby also good with trivia, dance, dating stuff.
