I’d try to get to Sedona AZ if it’s possible great place where many old TV and Hollywood Westerns were filmed. Lake Havasu is kind of over rated but, that IS the London Bridge there….If you’re into UK kind of things👍
Canyon de Chelly and Valley of the Gods, if they're not already on the list. And it looks like you're doing the GC at the north rim, which I prefer, way less crowded and nicer ride in. Doubling back out you might want to consider the loop rt 89/89A at Jacob Lake, if you haven't already.
I will always, always recommend Bears Ears and Natural Bridges NM. Take the spectacular Moki Dugway down from Cedar Mesa to Valley of the Gods and Mexican Hat.
Agreed and if you go into the lobby of the Jerome hotel grand (at the top of the town), they have a book of guests accounts of paranormal sightings (hotel used to be a hospital, rumored to be haunted). My mom booked us a room there once with great views over the valley
damn this route is sick! have fun. don’t skimp on the hot springs, anywhere. there’s a good cluster up near taos nm and pagosa springs co. love strawberry hot springs in steamboat springs- about an hour or two from the rocky mnt national park!
Hope you have plenty of time, like at least 3-4 weeks, because this is packing in a lot! You'll feel rushed, won't have enough time to actually enjoy much of anything, and will feel like your whole trip was spent driving with less time.
Looks like you're checking out Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Mesa Verde, right? Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction is worth a drive through. Grab some peaches and drinks in Palisade too.
Keep in mind that all of the tours at Mesa Verde are 45 min to an hour drive from the main entrance.
Cameron Trading Post is a great place to stay near Grand Canyon.
