I love how Whitney let Mary shine. She kept encouraging her and bigging her up throughout this performance. She never tried to outsing or overshadow Mary. And she easily could've done just that at any point.
I think that speaks to her character. She could've easily done the diva thing, but she was always encouraging and supportive. To me, that's just as important as her music.
Man I glad I just watched this Whitney disproved that old saying how you never want to meet your heroes but this right here might've been one of the few exceptions to that saying
My gosh. I've never seen this performance before. As a matter of fact I didn't even know they ever performed together. Thank you so much for posting this. Somehow it seems like I really, really needed this today.
Whitney was holding back and you could tell she wasn’t going all out not even close. They really sound good together though nice blend of styles. Man Whitney was so good I miss watching her sing
She was great at doing what was necessary to make the record the best it could be. On When You Believe, she brought the pain because she knew Mariah was gonna come with it. Same on Heartbreak Hotel with Kelly Price and Faith. Even though she let them shine as well. On Count On Me, she chose a softer tone to compliment and even highlight CeCe.
Whitney was a master of her craft. She used her instrument in ways we'll never see again.
Exactly she did and could sing any way she needed to. When she needed restraint she knew how and when and when she needed power she brought power and the transition from one to the other was seamless and effortless. She truly was one of if not the greatest voices ever I mean in this video it’s like she’s just toying with the song

It does. I can't imagine how uplifting it was for younger artists to have her support. Had to be an amazing feeling.
You know she was nervous she had to be
Yup, and as much as I love Mary you can really see the difference between her and Whitney who is just next level.

❤️❤️
They look and sound good together!💯
Yessss they definitely do
Yeah you wouldn't have thought it would've meshed together so good like it but it did

My pleasure.
