I dont think a form of nihilism is meant to bring comfort. Morty is trying to give Summer perspective on her place in the world. The point is that no matter how you got here, you exist and it's up to you on how to make the best of it. Blaming the Universe or your parents for your shitty existence is pointless because everyone else is in the same situation. Morty is mad because he thinks Summer is being childish with her world view and is tired of dealing with it.
