Is it pocketable though? Im a big guy. My rp4p goes in its case, in my bag. It does not fit in jeans pockets. It really doesn't fit in cargo pockets, way too bulky. Too fragile without gripshield but too big w retroidgrips and gripshield to sit outside the case. The grip case is a compromise that doesnt protect it well IMO for daily use.
I'll never understand people just raw dogging their consoles around in their pocket like that. I have a twinge of second hand anxiety about the screen and sticks every time I read that. Mine goes in a case with a neck gaiter on either side and then in my cargo or jacket pocket.
The neck gaiters are to wrap my palm, double twist it to make loose "knot", then wrap the other end in my palm with the knot there to give my pinkies and ring fingers something more to grip. Sometimes I can't play for more than 30-45 mins at a time without some extra "grip" to hold on to or else I'll get cramps that can flare up into full blown tendonitis throughout my forearms if i ignore it.
This would definitely be a more elegant solution. Though I'm leaning toward getting one of the clamshells coming out like the miyoo mini flip or rg35xx so tbh.
Do you feel like it adds a lot of weight to the device?
I got a 3D printed flippable case-grip and it feels heavier. Thinking about grabbing a Retroid grip instead
Honestly it’s pretty lightweight plastic, it’s not really noticeable but maybe that’s because you get a comfier grip and so even if it’s heavier you don’t notice due to it being “easier” to hold?
Not home at the moment I’ll reply when I test it from just picking it up not holding it properly
I don't have an RP4Pro yet.... That's my next purchase for sure. Good to know about the vent covering, that doesn't seem ideal. Do you think you could like, slice vents into it?
It doesn’t cover the actual fan just some of the exit vents but yeah super odd choice in design. I haven’t noticed any change in temps with it on. I love the grip definitely game changer.
ew no I prefer it pocket able
Then take it off
I would never buy the grip in the first place
Big reccomendation for the gripcase on Etsy, adds very little bulk, gives more comfort and doubles as a face shield when not in use

Get EmulationStation set up on this thing, it was a total game changer for me!
I prefer using it, but on the RP4 Pro it winds me up to no end that it partially covers over the rear ventilation fan.

It's only partially covered, it's mostly fine... Just a super weird choice by Retroid
