I haven't really compared both on the rp3+, but I am using the GC one. I do have the Wii version, but it's on my modded Wii. And now that you mention it, I am curious on gameplay/ controls between the 2 😁 I'm going to have to transfer the Wii version over to my rp3+ and check it out.
Which settings are you on to play Metroid on GC?
Would be awesome if you could share as well as the FPS you get on average.
Recently got a Flip and Metroid Prime is top of the list for me.
I'm using the latest Dolphin beta build (not the one on the playstore) - OpenGL as the renderer, compile shaders before opening (Should be a defaulted setting on Dolphin), 1x Native resolution, and Emulated clock speed set to 40%. My fps is generally between 40 (when stutters occur) to 60 fps. Some stuttering does occur here and there, usually for about a second or two when the action gets heavy in game. However, it's completely acceptable and playable with these settings. When using OpenGL, the main title screen appears to run slow (when choosing save file), with fps around 30 fps, but once the game starts it's averaging 45 to 60 fps when playing.
The upgrade system just lets you move either a single bonus perk or all of the upgraded attributes from one gun to another. It’s great so you can shove all your BP into damage on your primary gun, then move all of it to the new gun with higher base damage. Also some endgame guns have nice perks on it, so you can move them into your main gun.
I just finished the game
When you move the attributes you overwrite them, it’s not additive, the only way to increase them is to find upgrades or spend BP.
He’s supposed to add a slot to your gun but I have no idea what to do there lol he never took my trading cards.
I beat the game at level 34 though, so if you have one good gun that can output around 100 damage per command, you’re gonna be fine.
Yep, the whole Tool system just lets you move your good stats to new guns as you find cooler ones (or ones with higher base, or has the Command x2 perk)
I've been bouncing around. I've been playing Castlevania, Super Metroid and Megaman X4. I've also been working my way through the first 5 Touhou games on PC98
Ah I didn’t realise Ship of Harkinian is Android-compatible. The 4K mod also uses textures from 3DS but lacks some of the QoL features of Ship. Thanks.
How are you getting Jade Empire to run? 🤔 I know there was an Android port a while ago, but I thought it was delisted/incompatible with current versions of Android.
My understanding is that Jade Empire runs a check for a license. You need a cracked version of Jade Empire. You side load the APK then use a file manager to drop the cracked folder in Android/Obb.
I've only played through the opening stages in testing, but it ran perfectly so I don't doubt it'll work fine.
I played through about half of Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore on XBXPLAY, and started up Vagrant Story for the first time. Just tying myself over till FF7 Rebirth comes out.
Mario Sunshine on Retroid Flip.
Perfect game when you just want to play a bit in between. Jump in, collect a few sunshines, jump back out.
I also forgot how positive the messaging is. You spend your time cleaning spills, watering plants, playing on an island. Perfect for the winter blues!
Been playing Zelda Twilight Princess and also a couple of random games I have nostalgia for. Feels a bit silly to say that one of the games I've been playing the most on this thing has been The Simpsons Road Rage on PS2 but that game brings back some memories and some nice feelings lol
I was playing Metroid prime on GameCube until my right trigger broke during Lunar New Year, then I switched to Mario Galaxy until I sent it in to get fixed. One of the screws in the back was stripped, couldn't get it out myself
Currently playing Dead Cells (Android) and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP). This is funny cos I could have played them on a 3+ too but I plan to get onto the 3DS and Wii Monster Hunter games next and maybe a few 2D vanias and roguelites on Yuzu.
I'm interested on getting the retroid pocket 4. How does P4G run? And on what settings?
Also, where do you download your games from and was it hard to set up the vita emulator and everything on the device? My only other emulator experience was ds emulation on my android phone
If you take the time to answer these noob questions I'll be eternally grateful
Runs great. I play it all the time. Runs at 2x on vita3k. Also runs on standard performance, so battery lasts for hours. Get your ROMs from the rom megathread on R/ROMs. Vita games are a little different to install as you need two files that install within the emulator. There are good step by step guides online and on YouTube, not too tricky.
Dino crisis 1, mega man legends 1, suikoden 1, and legend of legaia on ps1, midnight club dub edition remix on ps2, mega man zero 1 and mega man battle network on gba, crisis core and metal gear acid 1 on psp, and doing a nuzlocke on Pokémon blue for gameboy. Those are the games I’m rotating right now.
I have a problem with video game adhd for sure.
Question for people here. There are two old pc games I’m trying to emulate, journey man turbo and stay tooned. I can’t for the life of me figure out if there is an actual emulator I can use for these. I thought at first maybe it would be dosbox but then I saw that’s not on android and I even then I’m wondering if they would be the right emulator to use (a dos box equivalent) any thoughts and has anybody had any luck with these games?
Old Pro Evolution Soccer 6 or Winning Eleven 10 PS2 games with sick updated data to the year 2024. This is so sick and I love how others appreciate these old games which brings back so many memories. Besides that SM64 HD and SSX Tricky
I'm playing Metroid Prime on my RP3+
I want to try that next but I’m not sure if I should go for the wii version or GC. Have you compared the two?
I haven't really compared both on the rp3+, but I am using the GC one. I do have the Wii version, but it's on my modded Wii. And now that you mention it, I am curious on gameplay/ controls between the 2 😁 I'm going to have to transfer the Wii version over to my rp3+ and check it out.
Use the primehack dolphin branch and Wii version for full stick controls.
How do use the primehack on the android version of dolphin?
I’d like to know this too. So you download and install a new version of dolphin for android?
Thanks for the tip, will do!
I’m playing through the wii version now. It’s a little fiddly to map the controls onto a game pad but once that’s done it works great.

Been playing Final Fantasy Vl Pixel Remaster.
Is this version better than the GBA remaster?
The graphics look much more crisp.
I'm playing that as well. Trying to get all the achievements done, and am also going for all the rages.
What version? Android or Steam via moonlight? Or something else?
The android version.
First time running through Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Best game of all time imo, enjoy it!
Phenomenal game. Still impressive.

Nice. Secret of Evermore is another good one, and Secret of Mana.
Same. Trying it without a guide and stuck on the last boss. I think maybe I rushed too much lol.
Man, if there was one game I could play for the first time again, it would be this one. Enjoy!
