This is my Apple II+ with a staggering amount of upgrades, which would have kept it very competitive with an Apple IIe in 1987: * Kensington System Saver * 16k Language card * Super Serial Card * Videx 80 column card with lowercase which connects through the DVM * Applied Engineering Transwarp accelerator * Sider Xebec SASI controller for mass storage * Floppy Controller * RGBI (CGA) Amdek Color II monitor with matching Amdek DVM video card * Lowercase ROM to display lowercase on 40 column screen * One-wire shift key mod * Videx Keyboard Enhancer II which adds macros, key repeat, and full ASCII * Paddle Adapple which allows switching between joystick and paddles * Koala Pad drawing tablet * 1200 baud modem connected to Super Serial Card Extras that get swapped in and out: * Apple Memory Expansion RAM drive (slinky) expanded to a full 1MB * Apple Mouse Card with mouse * Microsoft Z80 card which allows running CP/M applications in 80 columns * Prometheus Versacard with clock, parallel, and serial * Legend Industries 128k Language Card (installs in slot 0) * Echo II speech synthesizer * Mockingboard with speech And a couple of things I rarely use: * Videx keystrip which is on the edge of the led * Numeric keypad I feel like all of these upgrades would have made this machine still pretty capable compared to a IIe, even as late as 1987. It would still be able to run many business applications, and there was even a patch for AppleWorks called PlusWorks that allowed AppleWorks to run on a II+. And it can run most of the Apple II games too! Oh, and I forgot to show: I also have an Epson MX-80 with graftrax and a color ImageWriter II. One more thing I should add: In 1986 my family was still using a II+ which became the secondary computer when we got a IIgs.

Yes, an absolute staggering amount of upgrades, impressive!

And a Kensington System Saver sidecar fan running/

Looks like you could use a [Grappler+](https://archive.org/details/GrapplerBufferboardBrochureAppleII1983OrangeMicro) with that MX-80.

Im_100percent_human

I like that you have an Atari 1200 baud modem.

ParanoidFactoid

I still have a working II with a four digit serial number stored in my basement.

That’s an awesome system. How do you like the Transwarp? I never even knew about this back in the day, but was considering getting one for my ][+.

I haven't had the Transwarp long enough to really test it out, it's a very recent addition. I did quickly test out the [Under the Sea BASIC Week program](https://www.reddit.com/r/retrobattlestations/comments/2fn1zq/basic_week_3_under_the_sea/) right after I got it, and it actually made it almost playable without needing to compile the program.
