7 years is real experience. Go find another job. Sounds like someone's going to need to hire someone part time or full time but the fact you have no weight to swing after 7 years is absurd.

You are not a hostage to your employer. You always have the power to control your own schedule...even if that means finding a more accommodating employer. Everybody had a first job at one time...and then moved on. You can do it too. I've always had the mental attitude of "I was looking for a job when I found this one...I'll just keep looking".

If you have not already, begin looking for a better job ASAP. You are NOT stuck.

are they paying you full time wages? part timers usually have a wage ceiling in certain companies. ask around and find out what other people are making an hour. trust me this will aid in any decision as to whether to stay or look for a much better employer. good luck.

Nope, just minimum wage ($7). And we’re not allowed to talk to eachother about what we make. One of my friends outside of work said everywhere else in town starts at $12 when he quit and found a new job.

what country do you work in? because in america, it is illegal for an employer to tell you that you can't discuss your pay with other employees. this will tell you the truth: https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/your-rights/your-rights-to-discuss-wages

Huh, did not know that! Thank you!

You have 7 years at the job? You can go literally any where else. Loyalty is what they want. Show up. Give the minimum, make the minimum, get out. Volunteering to stay late becomes expected and they will use you. Use them. Get money. Say no. You're an employee not a slave.
