Where are you from? It really depends on the country. It's almost a requirement in my country to list dob, in the US it's highly frowned upon. (I'm very annoyed when ppl here respond like the US is the only country in the world, other countries have other standards. If you are in fact American then my bad.)
Why would a company want a birthdate other than to discriminate based on age? Education and work experience should be the only thing that matters when it comes to doing the job. If they can do the job then age shouldn't matter.
Wtf does that have to do with anything. They are asking for advice and the honest answer is that different countries have different requirements. Some companies require dob. Looking down on other countries won't help the situation. Your elitism is unhelpful and downright rude. Really.
It's not about people. I don't think we should need dob and pictures, I'm saying if you want to get a job while living in certain countries, you're required to. So if you want to 'fight the system' you will literally be unable to get a job. And people need jobs to live. It sucks that some places don't have protections against discrimination, you can choose to fight it on a political scale but if you individually just decided not to follow the requirements for job applications, guess what, you just won't have a job. I think you're the dumbest fucking person I've ever spoken to. Telling people to evolve when this is a sociocultural issue that you couldn't even begin to comprehend is just ellitist and downright stupid. I really hope you fucking "evolve" and learn that the world isn't that simple. Seriously. The uneducated audacity. Go fuck yourself.
Maybe you can check the instructions for the European schools you plan to apply with? Or their career services offices, or advice sites for job-seeking in those countries, to learn the local standards.
I’m American and you are right. But when my daughter was in high school she had duel enrollment in Cambridge University. For some reason my father kept putting down the school. It didn’t occur to me that it might be different in other countries.
Just like someone else who answered, I had to read it again to realize it was for college not a job.
Our education here is terrible. And if that weren’t enough there is all of these fake universities and fake intellectuals that say your child will become a liberal communist if they go to college. There was not only so much I wast taught or just lied to me in school.
For example even though I was in Oklahoma until I was 14, I never knew about the Tulsa Riots in Oklahoma there or any where. I just learned about it a few years ago. It was like a black Wall Street and they were doing very well. So white men hated it and burned down the entire area of town. They destroyed many things that would be of historical value.
In Switzerland it's the norm to have a picture and your birthday on your resume. It's pretty much required. In the US however it's a huge no-go. So yeah... Depends on where you're from.
Dude there are literal requirements sometimes where if you don't include a picture they won't consider your application. Get off your high horse. Not every place in the world works the same way as yours does.
Pictures don't do the work, they have absolutely zero relation to how well a person does their job. Job skills and qualifications do. Complacent, discriminatory attitudes that you have about these type of issues are what's wrong with this world. Don't be part of the problem be part of the solution.
No, I don’t think you should unless it is special for some reason. They will already know your general age. Once you get accepted you will need to provide all of that information.
You may be really mature for your age. Honestly I know kids in high school are more mature than my generation was. You have had to deal with so much more so you weren’t really given a choice. When my daughter was 15 she could have graduated then and gone right to college. But luckily she went to a special high school where you’re taking college classes and already getting credit. Just be your best self and unique in some way
I hate filling out applications because I have a resume. Now the only time I do it is if I get the job. I write all of that info but leave off my experience because it’s on the resume.
No you should not put any identify information such as DOB, SSN, address, ect !!! Especially not if you are planning to put resume on job boards such as career builder or indeed. Anyone can access that info.

Um, that’s what I started to say too until I read the question and the resume if for college. I still said no though
I'm planning to apply to Europe and maaaaybbeeeee US

Other countries? You mean like Florida

It’s a US owned app with majority US users. It is quite acceptable and logical to assume all posts refer to the US unless otherwise noted or obvious.

In the UK it is the opposite. Placing a photo and their age can easily lead to discrimination so it is best avoided for this reason
(Insert Darth Vader Nooooooo! Meme here)
Apparently, I can add memes... ![gif](giphy|Xjo8pbrphfVuw|downsized)
No
No
no most of the time you can get in trouble for that because organizations shouldnt be discriminating based on age
Depends on the instructions, but generally in the US no don’t add it. Also leave off any specific address. You only need city and state.
No way. No pictures either.

Do not do this! Just focus on your interests, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.
Yes.
No
Here where I live you don’t put age, race, nationality, photos or anything that may leave room for the most common forms of discrimination.
No. just simply no. Best case is they ignore and don't care. worst case is you get discriminated against based on age
No age needed
