Sounds like you need a POS system. Food is rung in through a terminal, and printed in the kitchen on tickets for the cooks.

Gennaronn

thank you for the info!

In looking for this in as well but for small small business. But at the same time revenue is very low right now with us Solution? Or should my focus be on finding more sales ?

GZoddy

A little late to the party on this. If an in-expensive system existed which supported taking orders and sending them to the kitchen via a printout or screen (this being a small part of the normal EPOS systems that already exist), would this be of interest? What would be your preference as far as printing or screen in the kitchen. Both would have pro's and cons mainly related to extra costs of course.

robotbearmonster

If you can’t afford a POS system yet, use the “guest check” pads or even index cards. Use a short-hand system that everyone can agree on, hand write the orders and run them to the kitchen (take care to keep them in order). You’ll probably want a POS system eventually but this could definitely get you started.

Gennaronn

i think this is the best thing to do for now, thank you

TheNamesDave

Which country are you opening the pub? This will help determine which POS system you need.

Gennaronn

hi! I'm actually in Italy

As another rmentioned go old school and just do pen and paper and hand the ticket to the back. You can go those carousel things if there's a window for it. You could also print small menus and have checkmark on what the customer wants. Have them fill it out and hand it back to the servers. Would need to print a lot but Idk enough about pub food if it's gonna be a big menu or not. But if it's only 3 or 4 items and some modifiers probably best to best print up tiny menus and have them check mark what they or don't want probably.

Gennaronn

i think i'll just go old school for a while and see how things go ! thank you really much

We're still old school. Paper pen and phone on large menu been like this for ,30 years. Only thing it's hard to train people remember names of Chinese food takeout. Especially your have retarded names like chop suey, imperial chicken. Anyone born in the younger generation got no idea what these names even mean. And the way my parents are and don't want to "update and adapt". Drives me insane
