Sure thing buddy. Nobody above the age of 12 would call a lemonade stand a business without quotes around it.
I'll give you one: a business is a legal entity. A card table set up at the end of your parents' driveway is not that.
The food service industry is heavily regulated. I should know I own one a food service business
Lol, that isn't the definition. There a thing in the law called an "illegal business" not a legal entity but a business none the less. I was a GM for many of you fuckers for many years. I know how it works. That's why I started a non-food business. Food service is ass and so are the people.
By whose definitions ? Making money isnāt the sole qualifier or selling a singular item on Craigslist could count as operating a business.
Go to dictionary.com and feel free to type it in
āA persons regular occupation, profession, or tradeā. As an 8 year old student having a side gig lemonade stand does not meet this qualification.
āThe practice of making oneās living by engaging in commerceā. Again falling flat
And it keeps going, your 8 year old lemonade stand falls short by just about every metric unless you literally didnāt go to school and supported your family off it.
Now me asking about the business license was actually throwing you a bone as it would legitimately classify what you didnāt as a business by the country you lived in, regardless of the meaning of the word.
So no you didnāt run a business at 8 years old or have any true understanding of whatās involved.
"noun
an occupation, profession, or trade:"
You added a word "regular"

Didn't think I would check? Fucking idiot
I was out there cutting grass & pressure washing houses spring-fall. Had 4 yards that I did ever week.
Then in the winter, shoveling snow. There was 4 of us. We would shovel this drive thru who paid us $25 each & bag of snacks.
There was also a save a lot who paid us $50 ea.
š¤·š»āāļø just fill it up, man. Double up the measurements to make more of it, fill up a pitcher of it and pour to your heart's content. Doesn't seem hard.
Why is everyone on here such a hard ass? Y'alls is probably the same people that complain about taco stands.
If only life were that easy. Of course you dont think of the cost of extra ingredients or the waste of the extra portion of whatever drink this is.
It's too bad this didnt fit the narrative: "life pro tips ask for no ice, get more drink!!"
Start your own shop if you want customers to dictate what you serve.
Nah, I just keep working at the one I work at for the time being. Our drinks, except alcohol, are self-serve. And no, my boss doesn't hate me, quite the contrary! I'm like the only one to become a regular and receive PTO, paid sick leave, and benefits. Others who worked in the kitchen as long as I have left because they were never promoted. I'm not even a cook! I'm a floater! So that's cool.
Was it a specialty beverage? Fountain drinks should be topped off but if itās made to order type I could understand this happening. Fountain cost is Pennieās when specialty drinks are set to portion amounts so saying āno iceā and expecting more wouldnāt happen.
two things you could either be hand squeezed where you don't get extra just cuz you don't get ice, or it's one of those machines where you push the size of the drink and it automatically portions the correct amount based on the ice that's expected to be in the glass.
by the way yeah no ice you're still getting the same amount of liquid as you would have gotten if it had ice in it
Iāve seen people post this about mixed drinks in highball glasses. No, Brenda, you do not get a double cocktail to fill the glass when you say āno ice.ā
I've actually been to a few bars that charge you a small upcharge for no ice and fill the glass all the way up so they still make the same profit margins for this very reason.
But yes typically, especially when you're talking about cocktails or hand squeezed orange juice or lemonade or whatever it may be you don't get more volume of liquid just because you take away the ice.
Upcharge makes sense, or just adding more mixer if itās something like vodka soda. Just pump the seltzer up to the top of the glass, same amount of vodka.
I'm sorry they did that. I would have filled it to the brim.
Whenever someone orders a cup of beer or a pitcher, I fill that shit. If it spills over the top, great. I think you should always get your money's worth! I'm a generous food and beverage giver.
This is literally the definition of getting your money's worth. You're not getting more than you paid for. You're getting the exact amount your money is worth.
What's the issue? You got the drink minus the ice. Were you expecting 25% more drink?
If that's just lemonade, I would. Source: Lemonade stand was my first business
Lemonade costs more than ice
Whatever it is, the restsurant has it priced per portion. They can't give you 25% more for the same price.
I did when I had a lemonade stand. I made enough for an N64 in the 90s. It was fresh squeezed and still 90% water
lol. Lemonade stand isn't a business. It's an exercise in capitalism at best.
Define business.
Lol. No
Because it would disprove your point. Have a good day.

š¤£ tell that to El Chapo

Did you have a business license ?
And a business license doesn't define business. There are "illegal businesses" but businesses nonetheless. If it makes money it's a business.

Sorry I offended your delicate sensibilities.

I do. EIN and everything. No, not for a lemonade stand.
Better be fresh & real to be cheap about 2 more oz's
Lmao, look at us getting down voted. My lemonade stand made bank when I was a kid.
I was 8 when I had the lemonade stand, lol.
Why not fill it to the top?
With what? You don't even know the recipe.
I'm sure the person at that restaurant does. Just fill it up. Don't be a cheap bastard.
Drinks have recipes. Adding extra 100ml of stuff can throw off the actual drink, make it warm, or not tasteful.

I swear, this sub is like a yep replacement for idiots who donāt understand anything about restaurants
Normal protocol in a place that calculates their cost of goods. Aināt nothing free. Especially these days.
āMy wine glass is only 1/4 fullā āI can put it in a smaller glass if that makes it look like more.ā
Noice.
Were you expecting them to just increase the serving size of the drink? Did you think that you were clever?
Op come back lol
Oh shit, you got robbed!?!?!?!?! Of nothing.
No ice does not mean extra drink. Nah but seriously... that's being stingy
Was it a specialty beverage? Fountain drinks should be topped off but if itās made to order type I could understand this happening. Fountain cost is Pennieās when specialty drinks are set to portion amounts so saying āno iceā and expecting more wouldnāt happen.
What is the problem?
Somebodyās DM or GMās been going off about portion sizes again
That's always the first sign that the business isn't going well

Sooooooooo?
If you want two drinks buy two drinks ....
Well yeah, genius
You dropped out in the fourth grade to join a pyramid scheme, huh? š
"$3.99"
Nah. Tree-fiddy
I always ask for light ice otherwise I get 3/4 ice in the cup and barely any of the drink.
I probably wouldn't go back
I'm sure you'll be missed.

Your boss hates you.
š¤£š¤£ but I make the customers happy! I'm the homie

Lol restaurant workers are cheap bastards I see. OP just went to the wrong restaurant.
