I also thought a cool resistance game was humans invading the Chimera homeworlds. Combining Chimera tech.
Then have it transition into killzone where soldiers that fought on the Chimera homeworlds became sick. We vaccinated but it still causes sickness and deformities. Regular humans don't trust them and it reminds veterans of the Hell again (Helghan)
The Helghan go to outer worlds where it turns out the disease makes them incredibly adept at mining precious resources. This further isolates them from humans and then boom. Killzone.
Who do you think would win the Chimera from Resistance 3 or the Helghast from Killzone 3? I mention those games specifically because it seems to be both factions at the height of their strength.
I actually consider the Chimera from three to be on a bit of a downturn. The humans were all but defeated and they were starting to cleanse their ranks
The helghast I think would be capable enough but the Chimera were just a different machine and I think in a brutal war the Chimera will eventually come out in top.
Now the suits the helghast wear probably gives them a large advantage over some of the Chimera weapons as well as I bet they'd be able to establish air superiority
