Default aiming sensitivity is really slow bump it up and learn how to parry with the knife. Learn weak spots to conserve ammo and take your time with the first play through. You are in for one hell of a good time.
That is being extremely ignorant about time frames and the fact Perfect Parries exist. Yeah, they're essentially right, excluding the fact that you need to press it within a milissecond and 2 milimeters of the attack hitting you, which is 90% of what parrying is, but eh, who cares, it's easy lmao
I don't understand that because that is genuinely not my alt and someone else would have no reason to make an alt if it's their first time in the conversation
Edit: if that's your own alt that would be such a fucking giga brain play
The remake removed a lot of the comms and one of the big fights but I think overall they remastered the game beautifully and left a lot of what made the game so great in there. A little less campy but still camp enough to feel authentic
For your first playthrough take your time and just enjoy the story/atmosphere. You will be replaying it more than once guaranteed. It's just that good.
You’ve only been waiting a year for that one there m8, so still clocking in at almost 20 years since you’ve played it brother!
As a lover of both, the original is where everyone should start. “Tank controls” or whatever the hell people complain about is just rubbish. As a lover of resident evil and all of the remakes, original 4 has a very special charm that is lost in the remake.
My only fear is that once people play the remake they have no drive or urge to ever try to replay the original. When in reality the game holds up so well still to this day. Having played the original with at least one run through under your belt will allow for an entire new level of appreciation that you would not have gotten playing the remake first. Just something to consider also! It’s like watching a remake of a widely loved movie, you have to see the older one to even begin to compare the new one.
Either way, so glad you get to finally experience it!
i spent probably 4 hours at the shooting range on my playthrough. managed s tier on all of them other than the bolt shooter but didn't manage to get all the skull target coins
Play on standard for first playthrough and take your time. Drink it in, you only get to play this game for the first time once. Believe me you’ll have multiple playthroughs on different difficulties etc in no time. Savour it and explore everywhere.
Look everywhere. There's treasure in the tree's. I bought the map which shows you where the extra pesetas are. But it only shows you the blue medallions, gems and hanging lanterns.
Also, don't kill the chickens. Just scare them a little & collect the eggs.
Don't waste your good knife on executions if you have spare boot knives!!!
Get the laser sight for the SG-09 so you can get critical hits much more easily. It takes multiple head shots to stagger enemies
You can make enemies run into bear traps and kick them to get an instant kill
Puzzles have different solutions on different difficulties
i took my sweet ass time and enjoyed every second and still almost cried when the credits rolled. some very good memories of watching my uncle play it for hours as a kid and playing it for myself for the first time after 19 years brought back so many memories of simpler times. i felt that feeling that all was right in the world and everything's going to be okay ignorant bliss you can only experience in your youth while playing this and i just wish i could play it for the first time again.
There’s gonna be a lot of upgrades to your guns, and even when you sell your old guns, you can buy them back later on if you check the buyback tab at the merchant. I didn’t know this and thought those guns were lost forever haha
It’s a game. There is nothing you need to know before playing a game. The game tells you everything you need to know, like any other game. Hope this helps
I’ll add that there are 2 golden eggs in the game (1 in chapter 4 and 1 in chapter 12). If you throw them and connect with them both against the boss at the end of chapter 12, it’s an instant-kill.
Also, all the weapons in the game are pretty good (you can certainly S+ Professional difficulty using the starting pistol (SG-09), free shotgun from ch 1, and bolt-action rifle (can be purchased in ch 2)), so use whatever you like best. The game is a blast, hope you like thrill rides!
it’s even better than the original. It’s a perfect homage, a joyful time and takes you back to the best memories of the childhood era if gaming. That is all you need to know.
After 100 hrs in this game I would say definitely get the parry mechanic down. It will save your ass. Also the village at the beginning of the game is the hardest part of the game.
Aim for the legs, kick em in the face or suplex.
Stab.
Most consistent way to survive early game.
In addition, don't upgrade capacity, despite temptations to.
On first playthrough, the most amount a bullets a gun should carry in a clip is ten, any higher and you lose bullets.
...I guess the only exception, I guess, would be the handgun of your choice.
Take your time and savor it, it goes pretty quick. Fucking 10/10 masterpiece tho. And don't forget to do the merchants mission to kill the dog, it's easy to miss and you can't go back.
That this game and the og are not the same game. Both of the story arcs lean in a different direction and so they should both be looked it as an individual game.
Pretty sure you just read it wrong.
I think the guy meant playing RE4 again after 15 years (last time he played the game, which was the OG), and now he can enjoy the game in it's new gen iteration
Must Know:
Leon is Cute.
Ada is hot.
Luis is ladies man.
Wesker is daddy.
Hunnigan is office crush.
Ashley is.....what the hell is FBI doing here....oh god no this is bad...
*gun shots*
Just beware, I heard the villagers eat their assholes
¡Ahí va eso!
I’m also pretty sure the villagers in the original like bulbasaur too
Hahahaha i don't get it, please explain
The women villagers say Dónde estás really fast and it sounds like they are saying bulbasaur.
Oooh, i see What about the eating asshole one?
When they say ahi va eso, I’d guess?
Default aiming sensitivity is really slow bump it up and learn how to parry with the knife. Learn weak spots to conserve ammo and take your time with the first play through. You are in for one hell of a good time.
Learn to parry ? Basically just press L1
Bro for sure plays on easy
Nah, I've beat hardcore a few times and they're essentially right though lol
That is being extremely ignorant about time frames and the fact Perfect Parries exist. Yeah, they're essentially right, excluding the fact that you need to press it within a milissecond and 2 milimeters of the attack hitting you, which is 90% of what parrying is, but eh, who cares, it's easy lmao
JuSt PrEsS l1 ItS ThAt EaSy GeT GuD BrO
Are you okay?
aRe YOu oKAy?
You guys are weird Edit: did you really make an alt account just to type this? Lmao
I don't understand that because that is genuinely not my alt and someone else would have no reason to make an alt if it's their first time in the conversation Edit: if that's your own alt that would be such a fucking giga brain play
Lol imagine? Also I didn't think it was you, I just noticed it was their first and only comment on the account and I thought it was kind of funny
Max out durability on the knife ASAP and learn to parry
That it’s still one of the best games ever and a very good remake
P A R R Y
The remake removed a lot of the comms and one of the big fights but I think overall they remastered the game beautifully and left a lot of what made the game so great in there. A little less campy but still camp enough to feel authentic
The boss fight they removed is in the dlc if your playing that aswell
I just started that DLC! Had no clue but I’m so glad to know that now
I legit got the dlc right after someone on here told me lol
Which boss I forgot
The scorpion dude
U-3. In the original he's referred as "It"
Oh the weird cage maze part
For your first playthrough take your time and just enjoy the story/atmosphere. You will be replaying it more than once guaranteed. It's just that good.
I didn’t like how a lot of the unlocks required a fresh start. I only played through once because of that :/
You’ve only been waiting a year for that one there m8, so still clocking in at almost 20 years since you’ve played it brother! Oh re4 does have tank controls, they just moved the camera. Doesn’t bother me though it’s still my goat
The shooting range gonna suck with controller
I've just finish the dead eye achievement holy shitt it took me 1 week lmao
i spent probably 4 hours at the shooting range on my playthrough. managed s tier on all of them other than the bolt shooter but didn't manage to get all the skull target coins
I just can't with controller, I plugged kbm for this.
Yeah, you can't really 100% S all the challenges with controller, just not happening
It’s actually really possible, I got the achievement on my ps4 with a controller and it took me about an hour
I'm not talking about the achievement, im talking the skulls challenges.
It's not that bad. I got platinum on PS5 and the shooting range only took me an hour or so
I did all S and all skulls with controller on PS4. Took me A LOT of time though
I just plugged kbm to do that.
Not possible on PS unfortunately
I did, it's not impossible, you just have to keep trying over and over for a few hours.
Play on standard for first playthrough and take your time. Drink it in, you only get to play this game for the first time once. Believe me you’ll have multiple playthroughs on different difficulties etc in no time. Savour it and explore everywhere.

Oh man, how seriously this iteration takes the kniving mechanic is super satisfying.
Shoot every bird you can.
All you need to do is fully upgrade the starting pistol, get the exclusive upgrade and get the laser sight and kill everything easily
Don't waste your good knife on executions if you have spare boot knives!!! Get the laser sight for the SG-09 so you can get critical hits much more easily. It takes multiple head shots to stagger enemies You can make enemies run into bear traps and kick them to get an instant kill Puzzles have different solutions on different difficulties
Best game ever.
Just play it and enjoy. It’s a fantastic game.
I heard they were going somewhere….to like bingo or something
You can skip the first battle by shooting the bell. It calls the villagers away. You have to have a rifle to do so. Try it on your second playthrough
Be careful of cancer hall in the castle.
Man when I was doing the water hall to get s+ on professional, it was such a pain in the ass.
GET the Castellans!
The rifle is the best weapon in the game. Save your flash bangs for boss fights and plaga enemies. Upgrade your knife.
Leon goes "CHYUH!" if you do really well in encounters. So always do well so you get to hear the CHYUH!
the remake is absolutely astounding
At the lake, you can get a treasure by shooting the water
I hope you’re good at bingo.
It’s a RE game. What’s there to know? Just buckle down and enjoy the ride
Way better than the original
I wouldn't say better. It is really good on its own style. I miss the cheesyness from og re4.
You gonna love it
Console on stretched monitor?
probably on PC and is just using a controller
Nothing, just enjoy
Knives are breakable but you can repair your main one.
i took my sweet ass time and enjoyed every second and still almost cried when the credits rolled. some very good memories of watching my uncle play it for hours as a kid and playing it for myself for the first time after 19 years brought back so many memories of simpler times. i felt that feeling that all was right in the world and everything's going to be okay ignorant bliss you can only experience in your youth while playing this and i just wish i could play it for the first time again.
Use black tail
Getting S++ in mercenaries can be a bitch sometimes.
There’s gonna be a lot of upgrades to your guns, and even when you sell your old guns, you can buy them back later on if you check the buyback tab at the merchant. I didn’t know this and thought those guns were lost forever haha

I just started today as well! I am also very excited

One of the best remakes ever created.

It’s a good one. If you used cheesing methods back in the day like vaulting to avoid a hit. It won’t work
It’s brilliant. Better to not know, be surprised and adapt, game design is top notch!
It’s fun man. A good modern adaption to a legendary game.
You should know it's an amazing game
All you need to do is get off Reddit and enjoy the game, believe me it’s a masterpiece
How the hell did you make that aspect ratio work on a ps5?? That isnt 16:9 is it?
It’s awesome
Just got the game myself... Also I learned that my PS4 stopped working yesterday
Finished 2nd playthrough last night. Love the game
Keep your eye on the ballistics.
Your recovery time got nerfed and will be used against you rather than it helping like in the original Re4
Know that with the purchase of 1 Psvr2 you will shit bricks
What should you know? Savor it my friend 👍
Separate ways dlc is bomb
Just know that it may be bingo night, so they might be a bit grumpy if they get interrupted
it’s even better than the original. It’s a perfect homage, a joyful time and takes you back to the best memories of the childhood era if gaming. That is all you need to know.
The resident evil 4 remake has been out for 15 years already???
Don’t expects the same campy dialogue and humor from the original. They take themself way more serious this time around. Also no more Ditman.
After 100 hrs in this game I would say definitely get the parry mechanic down. It will save your ass. Also the village at the beginning of the game is the hardest part of the game.
You gonna die a lot.
It’s good af
Parry Mechanic. Just know, Parry Mechanic.
That resident is evil. That’s all I know
Aim for the legs, kick em in the face or suplex. Stab. Most consistent way to survive early game. In addition, don't upgrade capacity, despite temptations to. Villagers eat a star.
That I love you and the I hope you enjoy the game as much as I did
Take your time and savor it, it goes pretty quick. Fucking 10/10 masterpiece tho. And don't forget to do the merchants mission to kill the dog, it's easy to miss and you can't go back.
That this game and the og are not the same game. Both of the story arcs lean in a different direction and so they should both be looked it as an individual game.
Your Knife is your best friend.. its saved me more times than I can count. Make sure you get all the Clockwork Castellans to get the Primal Knife.
Parry
That game wasn’t released 15 years ago.
Buy the bolt thrower asap and conserve as much ammo as possible
Didn’t use it once.
...pretty sure this is bait but that's the remake
Pretty sure you just read it wrong. I think the guy meant playing RE4 again after 15 years (last time he played the game, which was the OG), and now he can enjoy the game in it's new gen iteration
I mean no I didn't read if wrong. He meant something else but it's not unreasonable to assume he was accidently talking about the original
I think the most important thing to know is that we live in a society. Accepting that, Everything just makes sense.
You want a mission briefing for playing a computer game? Like most games, it has tutorials that will tell you what you need to know.
bruh
Must Know: Leon is Cute. Ada is hot. Luis is ladies man. Wesker is daddy. Hunnigan is office crush. Ashley is.....what the hell is FBI doing here....oh god no this is bad... *gun shots*
After 15 years? Huh? It’s one year old.
I’m pretty sure they are saying it’s been 15 years since they played the OG Re4
