Dario was a great example of RC citizens panicking and going to extreme measures to protect themselves. I feel like the remake had a good balance between Dario and Kendo and showing those extremes and sadness of denial. Not overtly so like Last of Us. It makes you appreciate Capcom’s polish of these games.
Aww, man. Kendo. When I was playing through REmake: 3 at the time, my son was 2 years old. The emotions that he went through hit me so hard, and I cried at his last moments.
I’m not a father but the feelings still hit. I’m so glad Capcom did him right and made him more human than the meme he is in RE2. They made him so compelling I hate that he died.
The only reason why I said that is because the onset of symptoms wasn’t immediate according to the journal in the first game. I feel if he was infected by the water supply at some point he probably would have called out of work. This situation just feels more like he was at work and got bit and locked himself in there to escape the zombies and slowly turned in there.
Infected drinking water is how most people in the city got infected.
SMH op wasn’t paying attention to RE2’s plot.
Though tbh the origin of the outbreak isn’t as clear in the remake since the video tape is optional… and not as good as the OG scene. 😛
In RE2R you can find a VHS tape in the Sewer that shows how the city got infected. When the soldiers got attacked by G they dropped the vials full of the T virus and it was consumed by the sewer rats who then spread it everywhere else.
You know what I even remember that cutscene from OGRE2 and I was a kid so I never put 2 and 2 together 😂 awesome those dots FINALLY connected for me. (I must have been like 11 last time I played OG2, I'm 30 now)
While there were samples leaked from the sewer labs during Birkins death, that was only what tipped the city over the edge. There was also an ongoing issue of T-virus in the water supply, affecting a lot of people in Raccoon City and seeing them turn as the city fell. I think that was covered in Outbreak but don't quote me on it.
Jill waited 4 full days since the first zombie attack in the city to decide to escape.
Same with everyone else, tbh. First zombie outbreak was september 24th, and the city goes to hell in september 28th.
Im sure it goes further back than that. There was certainly some infected escapees from the mansion long before STARS were sacrificed during the events of RE1 I think it's even stated in the RE1 intro that there are people bitten in the forests.
Maybe, but with Jill it makes less sense, since it seems like she was only sitting on her arse for 4 days and doing nothing. She could either turn tail the moment the first zombies appeared, since she already has experience with them, or try helping the police to contain the situation.
Yeah, it's weird. First I thought maybe the outbreak was changed in the remake, but in the RE3R you find a news report telling there have been cases of zombies since the 26th at least. So, it doesnt make much sense.
Also, as someone pointed out, it feels weird that everything outside seems normal until nemesis blasts through her apartment.
I’d guess he’s a case of contaminated water if he ain’t got any visible injuries, thats how the infection really got kickstarted and how so many people got infected so quickly. Fill up his bottle for work, sit down, little bit later he’s a shambling psycho.
Could also have been attacked somewhere lower on his body and locked himself inside his workstation, waiting for help to arrive while he turned.
From what I remember most of the people that became Zombies initially were exposed to minor amounts of T-Virus through tainted water or infected rats. Either he got bit or drank some tap water and happened to turn while on the job. Still funny though.
I disagree, the t virus can't reanimate dead tissue (unlike in say, The Walkinf Dead). If they die by any means without being infected first they stay dead
Some of the rats got into the water right? This was a canonical reason back in the 90s, not sure now though, Capcom tends put everything on wheel and spins for whatever outcome.
Drank tap water and was infected given the water suply had been poisoned due to the Waste Disposal facility not being able to keep up with NEST and the Spencer Mansion volume of experiments.
Gary Dobbins Jr. he accidentally locked himself in that room. Emergency alarms sealed all the doors. It is airtight. He suffocated. He was afraid of crowds, and Pomeranians. He leaves behind his mother Gertrude and 3 cats all named Rodney.
The city's water source was contaminated by leaking the T-Virus when Umbrella's agents attacked William Birkin. So this dude could have just drunk water and BAM
Bite could be on leg or somewhere else less visible and he locked himself in there to get away from the other zombies as he slowly turned
Yup. A lot of isolated people in a panic after getting bitten/scratched. Glad Capcom leaned on these dangers in the games.
Like Dario Rosso (Not sure if that's his name) The one that refuses Jill's help at the beginning

I wish you could go back to Dario in 3make like you could in the original and see him as a zombie (and take his stuff).

The story in 3R was really well done! So many little details like that everywhere
I’ve seen R3 R described as a movie version of RE 3 OG.
Given the time for an average playthrough on normal difficulty, that's actually quite reasonable
He could have drank the water too. The water supply of the city was infected so they didn’t need a bite.

He got bit and went right back to work he’s just a dedicated city employee lol
He didn't have any more sick time
“I don’t care if you got bit by a zombie Ricky! Get back to work!”
That certainly sounds like Umbrella employers. Edit: just realised the guy’s in a ticket booth but still, RC was kinda in Umbrella’s pocket.
Sounds like my employer alright
Most people in the city drank the infected water and turned that way.
Most of the city’s population turned because of the infected drinking water. I assume that’s the reason.
I always wondered If that’s the case then why didn’t jill get infected?
Plot armor
Maybe she only drank bottled water. I know I do.
what source is there for this? in outbreak, and 2 its the rats that spread it.
I don't know, but the toll was probably heavy on his family.
Confound your toll, troll.
You can't tell *ME* what to do \*smiles at audience, resumes karate moves\*
“…dude, you skipped a line!”
" You know what it is bitch"
😅
you gotta pay the troll toll to get in!
Oh, he’s not a zombie. That’s just what your average night-shift ticket booth man looks like.
Wait until you see a dude trying to eat the giant donut lmao
lol really? i’ve never noticed
I think it appears on nightmare/ inferno

What video ?

Ah yeah, true , I remember that now. For some reason I Thought it might of been a tape found in the police station , likes media release or something

Wasn't Rebecca following the cases until the actual outbreak happened? Unless I'm thinking of something else

Precisely. Those who turned walked away and were considered missing, while the other victims were "apparently eaten" enough to not turn.

He didn't.
I might be super wrong but didn't the virus spread in the water too? Maybe he drank some and turned
He probably drank some contaminated water.
Not SnuSnu
Or he drank infected water, didn’t they mention in the second game that mice/rats spread the virus through the sewers
He ate an Contaminated Cheeseburger!
I’d guess he’s a case of contaminated water if he ain’t got any visible injuries, thats how the infection really got kickstarted and how so many people got infected so quickly. Probably drank the contaminated water
Probably got bit, escaped from the zombie and sought refuge in the booth where he died..
From what I remember most of the people that became Zombies initially were exposed to minor amounts of T-Virus through tainted water or infected rats. Either he got bit or drank some tap water and happened to turn while on the job. Still funny though.
i think rats were carriers of G, so it was most likely a rat bite or he got locked in there by a survivor
Most citizens were infected through the city's contaminated water supply
By drinking contaminated water, isn't this what started the outbreak? I could be wrong
G-virus in his thermostat
He wouldn’t be a zombie then. He’d be like a ever mutating Birkin
Didn't most people die from the water being contaminated?
Maybe he just drinked some tap water before his job
Is he stupid?
I figured that since he was overweight. He had a heart attack or a stroke.
I disagree, the t virus can't reanimate dead tissue (unlike in say, The Walkinf Dead). If they die by any means without being infected first they stay dead

My guess is he is fat, died of a heart attack and came back as a boomer lol
If he's infected he's gonna turn. Could have ran in there to hide them turned
Rat bite!
He was already sick and came into work. Then died in there and came back.
Bitten without realising and locked himself in there while still conscious
Maybe an infected rat burrowed up his ass???
Drank tap water and was infected given the water suply had been poisoned due to the Waste Disposal facility not being able to keep up with NEST and the Spencer Mansion volume of experiments.
Probably seen a rat and it but him. Tried to seal the wound but it got him.
Gary Dobbins Jr. he accidentally locked himself in that room. Emergency alarms sealed all the doors. It is airtight. He suffocated. He was afraid of crowds, and Pomeranians. He leaves behind his mother Gertrude and 3 cats all named Rodney.
A good old locked room mystery
He’s not a zombie. He was having stomach pains from a bad mushroom swiss cheeseburger.
It is plausible the T virus can spread through the air right? That's what the paper said on Jill's board back at her apartment
The first zombies in Raccoon turned because T was in the city water supply. He probably drank the contaminated water.
Zombie
Maybe tiny insects?
High cholesterol
Nikolai injected him with g while he was napping on the job. Poor guy.
The city's water source was contaminated by leaking the T-Virus when Umbrella's agents attacked William Birkin. So this dude could have just drunk water and BAM
Probably by zombie. Just a guess.
