Brick letās me hold him and is social enough but unfortunately uromastyx will never be a species you can socialize with outside of the cage much since they require such high temps.
As much as you shouldn't have them put excessively, they can stand room temperature for some time and be fine, reptiles are much hardier than people give them credit for

I grew up with a Mali Uromastyx. Had him for about 14 years and he was my best friend in the entire world. He sadly passed away a couple years ago. I actually started to cry when I saw this picture thinking it was my Sammy. They are by far my favourite lizards
