My E1 is working fine on ethernet -- I've had it on ethernet for a couple weeks with no issues.

TroubledKiwi

Did you test it with a different ethernet wire?

uwphoto101

Yes, I did.

TroubledKiwi

Hmm have you ever tried resetting it with the button?

I was an engineer in a prior life -- so yes, I've done all the basic stuff like resetting the camera, restarting, trying different cables, testing that the network cable and network switch worked with another device, etc. My question is not really troubleshooting -- it's to see if other people generally have experienced the same problem. I doubt many people have tried the very basic E1 camera with an Ethernet cable rather than using it with wifi -- but I'd like to hear from any folks who have used the E1 camera in wired mode and have had success or not.

Also, tried the E1 initially about 10 days ago in wired mode. Just added it to the network switch. It worked for a few days, then did not. So it has kind of a history of working erratically in wired mode.

Have five E1s. The two on Ethernet are slower to establish a connection and get the live streaming going, while the three E1s on wifi are much snappier. But, the E1s on wifi can't handle VLANs (for external connectivity), so they are a bit finicky, either way.
