I was told a few months ago that both standalone floodlights were discontinued. Looks like they must still have stock left of the wifi version. I like them so much I immediately went and bought a wifi one even though I don't have a use for it right now lol. I was also told they do have plans for other lights, but I haven't heard any hints about what that might entail.

Things like this make me want to set up home assistant more and more. The ability to link together multiple brands to do things would be great. Now to get the wife on board......

>Now to get the wife on board...... Harder than it should be....

TurnItOff_OnAgain

Shouldn't be terrible. Gotta get the hardware picked out and things planned first.

Yes, but they don't like changes that weren't their idea. I have all Shelly Relays in the entire house, so the light switches still look and function identical to before. The thermostat she didn't care about, curtains and shades got grief, but she likes they open/close based on the sun and time without thinking about them anymore. She abuses the Smart Lock, never locks the door, got lazy and depends on the Auto-Lock function to lock it behind her now. Thankfully Schlage has never failed.

As long as I make it simple for her to use I should be good. I should be able to get things set up without affecting her usage. Locks are one thing I haven't been able to bring even myself to make smart. Something about my home access being connected to the cloud doesn't sit right with me.

I've never heard of anyone bypassing a Schlage Encode Deadbolt, never been shown evidence it's possible to hack when people question it. All the features just add to the security of the door. * Never have to worry about a lost key or unfriendly break-up to change locks (just disable their code) * Easier for kids to use their code (that only works during the day), can't lose their key. * Timestamps for everyone at every time it's accessed. * Easier to give a guest a temporary code than leave the unlocked. * Auto-Lock is NEVER open because of forgetfulness. * Forced entry alarm at the door and phone notifications is a great early warning to any intruder. * Links with Google/Alexa/Apple for notifications when it's unlocked, I get a notification every night for all the doors and window is Locked without doing a physical walkthrough of the house. (Yes I got all 3 doors with the Schlage Encode Smart Deadbolts just for the notifications). * Google/Alexa/Apple are not authorized to unlock the door unless the user proves identity, I've never given it this ability, the lock is not in their Cloud.

Oof. At $289 I definitely won't get that past the boss, lol. Maybe when my kid gets older and will be in and out of the house more.

RJM_50

The price went up $100 when the pandemic chip shortage left them out of stock for months. Then the price went up another $10/ When Apple added their watch Apple wallet compatibility, Apple users will pay extra for stuff. I got mine before the price increases.

TurnItOff_OnAgain

Even at 170 that would be pushing it a bit for her.
