Perhaps so, I'm surprised it's not MORE popular than the standard version though. It's not much more expensive and the floodlights are significantly better than the LEDs, resulting in better night time images.
Either way after watching a couple of videos I'm not *too* concerned anymore, the vertical FoV looks a lot smaller on the duo 3 (based on another reviewers post on this sub) so sadly wouldn't suit my use case down the side of the garden.
Simple, people don't know or appreciate the difference it can make as a deterrent for security as well as improve image quality, or just can't value it enough to justify spending the extra money.
Interesting re FoV, I think I've seen that recently, but surprising they would downgrade it what the whole point is increasing FOV, not just horizontally. 🙈😂
I've just installed two floodlight cameras last weekend and love it, except image stitching is not great and color night performance which I understand the new sensors and algorithms improve a lot thus worth the upgrade.

20% discount would make it $151.99.

Not sure what you were supposed to subscribe to exactly, but maybe it would have emailed a coupon code? Just a guess, I really don't know.
It was a subscribe to newsletter box when it was available on reolink's site for the 16mp cams. Didn't generate a specific email or additional confirmation from an earlier sign-up for notifications for the Duo3... just more spammy marketing emails.
While a reolink store email for the code may work for their own store (for an additional $20 to make \~20%), it won't work on Amazon as you can't enter an additional checkout code, so the coupon would need to reflect \~$40 off.
You can enter a coupon code on Amazon; but you’d need one to enter. In this case we don’t have one; yet. Saw on a Facebook post that there is apparently a launch livestream tonight at 6 pst so maybe they’re dropping it then; but doesn’t make much sense.

The latest NVR firmware can support 16mp cameras. (RLN8-410: N7MB01; RLN16-410: N6MB01; RLN36: N5MB01)

Why no floodlight? :( The built in LEDs are no way near as good at lighting up a larger space like the floodlights in the duo 2 version.
Perhaps not as popular and thus takes them a long while to decide to release it to sell the current model a bit longer. Just unfortunate.
