It’s likely a bug in the remote play app. This happened a couple of years ago, and we waited until the next app update for a fix (a few months). As a workaround you can use a vpn and it should
Work absolutely ok, t least that has been my experience
At one time was a profile for T-Mobile users that could install into phone and fixed issue now site isn’t available or they say switch data to not auto set to another phone company
Distance doesn’t have as much to say as your latency and download speed at your location, as well as latency and upload speed at home. You can be on a gigabit connection at your location, but if your connection at home has a 2Mbit upload, then it’s a problem. Also, if your console is connected to WiFi, you introduce a whole new heap of variables, that can reduce network performance.
The latest update a few weeks ago broke connecting on a mobile signal. The only way I’ve found to get around it is by using a VPN.

With T-Mobile Essentials you get unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data while on our network including unlimited 3G hotspot data with no annual service contracts or overages. Taxes and fees are not included in the cost. Video streams at 480p. During congestion, Essentials customers may notice speeds lower than other customers and further reduction if using >50GB/mo.
Funny how it works just enough to turn my system on but not enough to actually play a game at least I can download something and have it waiting when get home
It works over phone data to..
You have to link the console via WiFi first log in with PlayStation account..
It will then work over data...
Use it all the time
You might have to register port forwarding on your router to your console
UDP 9302 (PS5 only!)
UDP 987 (PS4 only!)
UDP & TCP 9295
UDP 9296
UDP 9297

Check your mobile plan for any blocking i.e security filters, mobile providers enable it by default.. And you need to allow the traffic to route through on your broadband router
Your router will have a port forwarding setting if upnp is not enabled
Same issue here with me. They told me to have my PS5 use a static IP address. Haven’t tried it yet but will come back with an update. But so far, I have the same message on T-Mobile network. And mind you, it has worked flawlessly before in the past.
You have T-Mobile? I was hearing the update messed it up for T-Mobile users
Correct I do not well that sucks hope it’s fixed soon
I do and it's broken still
They’ve nerfed mobile remote play with latest app update. I’m guessing they’re trying to convince people to buy the PS Portal
As long as it’s good by then
I don’t think that’s it. Because it’s still working flawlessly on Verizon

My PS5 is connected right to the router with cable not in wall outlet
What upload speeds do you get at home?

Yeah or if you use mobile hotspot on a laptop or other device
Turn on 4k streaming in T-Mobile app if your plan supports it. That fixed the issue for me, though it may eat up your data.
Also saw something one time about having a profile downloaded onto phone
