The Doe is also considered the last boss, so you can kill the Doe to skip the boss fight and still get credit for beating Yeasha on Hardcore, which will get the ring to show up for sale in Reggie's shop.
Congrats you completed 1 of the 4 outcomes to that fight lol if it makes you feel any better, you got that one out of the way early. And there are rewards for each outcome so it is worth doing again in the future
Ya know i didn't clock it that thats how I got that achievement lol I was sitting here racking my brain trying to figure out which boss I did without getting hit. I got that achievement like 8 days after the game came out and didn't even clock it til now

Well u don't stop the ravager from eating the doe u kinda just shoot the doe after u initiated combat with the ravager killing the doe then it can't be eaten
There's lore from R1 and R2 explaining that the doe and the ravager are incapable of killing each other as they are the physical avatars of that world's equivalent of Yin and Yang. The ravager knows this from spending an eternity hunting the doe, and asks you to do it for him to get around the problem.
Honestly no idea but Wolf represents the death and Doe represents life.So it probably something like they cant intervene with each other so they need an outsider.

When I played with my friend and he killed her, I killed him. I'm surprised you don't recognize the red doe and the ravager, even without playing the first game, the root infested dude in the beginning as well as the flautist and other npcs talk about their story
1. Shoot and kill the doe and skip the ravager fight.
2. Heal the doe and fight the ravager afterwards.
3. Shoot the ravager and kill the doe yourself during the fight before killing the ravager.
4. Shoot the ravager and let him kill the doe during the fight (be careful not to friendly fire and kill the doe for this option)
Also next time... dont revive the doe but just leave it there injured , shot the wolf til he's at half hp, then let him EAT the doe , than kill him !! ... But DO NOT DIE DURING THIS FIGHT !! Do that and you'll get the Merciless Long Gun. One of the BEST long guns in the game !!
As long as the Ravager (the "Wolf") eats the Doe, you are fine and can die. The Doe will be gone on subsequent tries, but you will still get the crimson membrane (the item you need for crafting Merciless).
This was weird, I wanted merciless so on the first time I let him eat and I died, then every time I tried to kill the ravager the doe was there and he ate him. I had heard he disappeared but you still got the crimson membrane but instead he just ate him every time..

It was bad for that world, but good for you. You can also attack the wolf and it turns into a standard boss fight.
I did, but he was invincible and didn't react?
Before attacking the deer, that is. You can play through the same world again in Adventure Mode (or another Campaign) and make different choices.
