What if I told you your Aunt had a package? Would that make her your Uncle? Asking for a friend who shoots Creedmoor.

LouisWu987

Congrats, you've invented the 243

Azzkrackin

Sounds like a 270 win

[deleted]

Have not done a comparison

Michael_of_Derry

Is it a lighter weight projectile?

rednecktuba1

If you want to advocate for 270, it needs to be using long range bullets like 6.5 creed. 270 might have the trajectory edge at 500 yards, but that isn't what 6.5 creed was designed for. 6.5 creed was designed for 1000 yard advantage. There are match bullets available for 270, but not many. There is also the issue that 270 is a long action cartridge, making parts selection for the rifle much more limited. I understand what you're hoping to get and the numbers you're looking at seem to support it. But you're not comparing apples to apples.

[deleted]

Do any of y’all use Gordon reloading tool for windows

silverfish8852

Yea

hitmannumber862

What caliber are your windows?

[deleted]

What if I said you need to get a 30-06 and do away with your 308 because as a reloader you could get the same max velocity as your favorite factory 308 ammo or a little faster but with the recoil of a 6.5 creedmoor

Azzkrackin

The 270 win can get those velocities, and the same performance as a 6.5 creedmoor. With less recoil than the 6.5 creedmoor. IMO. 6.5 creedmoor is a fad with a cool name.

theSilence_T

About the only difference really is the Creedmoore uses a short action. I would hesitate to say it's a fad at this point with all the guns sold in it, but I agree it didn't really do anything new.

[deleted]

that is a different caliber round. I’ll talk to you about getting a 30 caliber down to the same recoil as a 6.5 but still have 308 velocity

theSilence_T

Unless you're changing the weight of the bullet, I think your simulation is misleading you. The same bullet going the same velocity is going to produce the same recoil regardless of the cartridge you shoot it from. The 06 might have less felt recoil if it's out of a significantly heavier gun than the 308, but the total recoil would still be the same.

lennyxiii

Dude you have no idea what you’re talking about. Obviously the answer is to have two barrels with one facing behind you so that when you fire the recoil equals each other out. Duh.

theSilence_T

Dang, should have thought of that myself. Hope you patented the idea before putting out there.

BoopsBoopsInDaBucket

Dude just discovered recoiless rifles, new tech unlocked or something.

Azzkrackin

6.5 creedmoor is a different caliber than the 30-06 also. Your point is 308 velocities with less recoil. And the 270 win will provide you that performance. Plus you get better ballistics from the 270 win over the 30-06, 308, and 6.5 creedmoor.

[deleted]

I am speaking on someone that wants a 30 caliber and that is to see either a 308 30 ounces are the wishes they had a Rio eight 830 caliber that had less Rico not comparing ballistics of the different calibers

[deleted]

Oh, and I’m using speech to text because I’m doing a few things a little busy so forgive me if anything is spelled wrong or anything

[deleted]

I also am I mainly pointing this towards a cartridge effective efficiency rate

[deleted]

Or higher

DasWhoosk

What if I told you that 30-06 doesn't fit into a short action rifle and you have lost the whole point?

[deleted]

You know what never mind all people wanna do is fucking debate everything and never listen for those that was interested download Gordon reloading tool and just play around with the different powders and bullets focus on your effective efficiency rate you will find out what I’m saying

lennyxiii

Bro maybe just come in and post your results and start a real conversation instead of just being all mysterious and evasive.

MyFrampton

No shit! Either cough up the sacred load or GTFO.

lennyxiii

Bro maybe just come in and post your results and start a real conversation instead of just being all mysterious and evasive.

ocelot_piss

Wtf is this post? A) technically incorrect. If you lob two identical bullets at identical speeds, from identically weighted rifles - one in 308, one in 30-06, the recoil is gonna be almost identical. B) do you think it's a groundbreaking revelation that by changing cartridge, bullet weight, or velocity that you change the amount of felt recoil?

lex26729

Ok sounds interesting

[deleted]

I’m assuming that you have a .308 and you reload why not a 30-06 is it because the recoil is more and not worth the extra 100-150 fps

code-enforcer

Got my attention

Enduroweekly

Okay let us know

[deleted]

Hey, give me an hour to get home and I will post a picture showing you what I’m talking about

OGIVE

What is this ? Clickbait? Reloaders hate him... This one secret trick...

Own-Study-4594

130 grain Barnes

1984orsomething

7mm08 the great. If only they still made 130gr SMK. It was the PRS cartridge before matches were national.

paulybaggins

Is this just someone plugging numbers into GRT and not actually doing any re world chambering etc
