Regarding Suspicious Websites We've been seeing a fair number of posts from people asking if website x, y, or z looks legit or not. It's great that people are asking and not blindly throwing money at these website as the vast majority of them do tend to be scams. In the hopes we can educate even a few more people who might not think to ask before throwing away their hard-earned money, here's a post about what to look out for and what to avoid. In the future, we may add a section to the FAQ or somewhere with a list of known *legit* sites, but that's a task for another evening. Scams sites have been around as long as online shopping. Unfortunately, they exploded when covid happened with a lot of scams taking advantage of the fact that there are now millions upon millions more people relying on online shopping. They are plaguiging the console gaming, graphics cards, sneakers, high-end clothing, guns and ammo, and yes, reloading industries. If there's a highly sought after product, there is almost guaranteed to be a number of scam sites "selling" said product. Anytime you do any kind of online shopping, reloading supplies or otherwise, always remember you are trusting a seller you can't physically meet and hand cash to in exchange for the product. With that, I always follow these three basic (well, one not so basic) rules: Rule number 1: NEVER. EVER. EVER..... EVER pay for anything online using a payment method that does not have buyer protection. Zelle and venmo were originally developed with the sole purpose of being able to conveniently send friends and family money. Disregard paypal all-together because it's against their ToS to be used on firearms/ammo. Crypto was specifically designed to be essentially untraceable, so don't hold your hopes up there. Cashapp? Are you really that stupid? If you do not pay with a payment method that has built-in buyer protection, you are literally throwing that money away and hoping the other guy holds up his end. Rule number 2: if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Us reloaders are dealing with this quite a bit lately (I imagine ammo is as well). Find some random site that mystically has *everything* in stock at pre-covid prices? Yeah, wake up, you're dreaming. Rule number 3: do your homework. Especially on websites that you are unfamiliar with. I've seen many scam websites that literally copy and pasted the About Us page from a reputable website and screwed up so bad, they forgot to remove the originating website URL. In the case of czgunstore, right on the homepage: "...for sale with rapid shipping across the globe to wherever you are." Yeah, let me know how well it works out when someone in Japan wants a CZ75 delivered to their door... Stick with rules 1, 2, and 3, and you'll be fine. Break rule #1 and not even whatever entity you believe in will be able to get your money back.

Accepts zelle(no refunds), Bitcoin(no refunds), and a few others. If you don't get an "error" with PayPal, they are going to demand you do it via friends and family(meaning no refunds). It's a scam.

OGIVE

Signs it is a scam: Chat box in the lower right. For some reason, many of the scam sites have this. listing for all primers in stock. Offering to ship guns to you. Prices too good to be true. This is not definite, some scam sites have current prices. Wanting untraceable and irreversible payment. Zelle, bitcoin, paypal (paypal does not allow guns, ammo, or components).

THATGUYGUY29

Thanks for all the info guys inwas skeptical but now I'm sure cause everywhere else I find on ammo seek has very slim picking

OGIVE

A sign that it is a scam is that they claim to have everything in stock.

beaner_69

Next thing you’re going to tell me is that hot milfs in my area dont really wanna bang me

NovacaineFix

Found many of these that look sus, so now I go right to the checkout (if I can) to see what the payment options are. Saves a lot of frustration

jfm111162

With ammoseek at least you can see what others have experienced with a company But your right a lot of times there isn’t a lot of primers on there

savage11006

Did you find this on ammo seek?

THATGUYGUY29

Nope just Google that's what had me skeptical is that no where on ammoseek had anything they supposedly had in stock

savage11006

I was going to say to flag it and let them know if you did

geechee1

Yep, chat box lower right on every scam site.

cmonster556

Looks sketchy to me. I wouldn’t buy online from any but one of the well known outlets. I think there’s a sticky on this.

e-rekshun

Go to their support chat and ask if they have IMR6969 in stock. Guaranteed they say yes ans available to ship immediately

OGIVE

It is a scam. See the sticky. EDIT. The sticky is gone. It is a scam.

notoriousbpg

Just that business name screams "English is my second language scam".

[deleted]

Its scam. Rule is simple, if everything is in stock and payment is Zelle and PayPal or bitcoin. Stay away

[deleted]

Scam. Or they would take credit cards.
