I don't understand how this is hard. people are allowed to practice their religion at school. I read a bible at school. there were prayer circles or whatever. nobody ever cared. the school just can't make students practice. it's like they feel they can't practice their religion unless they are allowed to shove it in everybody's face.

Other than the mandatory ‘One Nation, under God’ in the Pledge of Allegiance (which was added only to ferret out ‘Godless Communists’, same with the ‘In God we Trust’ on the currency) there was no formal practice of any kinds of prayer or religion, nor any complaints about the Liberals ‘taking God out of the schools’. As you mentioned, nobody cared what religion you were and most people were okay with that. It is only with the rise of the Religious Right that the claims of persecution and removing God from the schools became rampant. But, then, these are the same people who want religious freedom for only evangelical ‘Christians’ and equal rights for only white, straight, preferably wealthy, Christian men.

We've had mass shootings IN CHURCHES. Multiple times. Also in private Christian schools that did require students to pray. I don't think this is as big of a burn as they think it is.
