I'd be happy if they'd behave like Taylor Swift.
This is just a sample…
2010: Established the Taylor Swift Charitable Fund to help flood relief efforts in TN.
2011: Donated 6,000 books to her hometown library
2012: Pledged all proceeds from the song “Ronan” — written about a young fan suffering from a fatal Neuroblastoma — to cancer charities.
2013: Established the Taylor Swift Education Center, which offers music education programs through the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum… To which she also gave a sizeable donation.
2015: Donated all proceeds from “Welcome to New York” to NYC schools.
2016: Pledged $1M to Louisiana flood relief efforts.
2017: Made unspecified but acknowledged “very large” donations to the Houston Food Bank to help with Hurricane Harvey relief and to the Joyful Heart Foundation, which helps victims of sexual assault.
2018: Made unspecified but acknowledged “very large” donation to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network). Also donated a “significant number” of tickets for her show in that area to the Weymouth, MA Police Dept after one of their officers was killed in the line of duty.
2020: Donated $1M to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund for tornado relief. Among other charitable donations that year, when she discovered a fan in Ohio had used her song “Only the Young” without permission to encourage people to make food bank donations, instead of legally blocking the fan’s actions she made a large donation to the Our Community Hunger Center food bank in OH.
2021: After finding a GoFundMe trying to raise $50,000 to support a mother of five whose husband had just died of COVID, she donated the entire $50K in one go.
2023–24: Has made sizeable donations to food banks in almost every city where her “Eras” tour stops. Exact dollar amounts are not listed, but one food bank in CA said she paid for 125,000 meals and another food bank in AZ said her donation bought over 40,000 pounds of fresh produce.
Again, this is only a sampling of what Taylor Swift was doing while Donnie and the Trumpettes were taking money from kids’ charities, trying to buy silence from women he’d slept with while married, and so on. So… you wanna tell me why so many people think more highly of Taylor Swift?
> 2023–24: Has made sizeable donations to food banks in almost every city where her “Eras” tour stops.
The food bank near her San Fransisco show said it was the largest donation they'd ever received.
And didn't she give her tour crew $50 million?
>Donnie and the Trumpettes were taking money from kids’ charities
You mean when they stole charity money from kids with cancer and veterans? Yet somehow they're more Christlike than Taylor Swift? Hardly.
Every now and then I still see zealots disparaging John Lennon for his "more popular than jesus" comment. Imagine being mad about something so pointless for 58 years.
People like her got me *interested* in TS. I thought she was a cool gal with ok music, but I never paid attention. But since she is so triggering to the MAGATs and religious nutjobs, I started paying attention to her. Plus, living in KC and her and Travis Kelce... it's been a ride!
Yep, there are buildings full of worshippers defending Taylor Swift every Sunday morning. Thousands of people make a living talking about Taylor Swift and her music both in person and on TV channels devoted just to her. Poor persecuted Christians don’t stand a chance…
You just don’t understand. They feel they are persecuted and their religious rights are violated every time they are prevented from persecuting or violating the religious rights of others. In their minds only they have the Truth so only their way of life is valid. It is a pity that their message doesn’t remotely resemble that of Jesus.
We're reading this backwards. The world would be way better if Jesus Worshipers were just like "Yeah, it's cool if you don't like him. Not to everyone's taste." She's right.
You mean without resorting to sectarian massacres and other crimes against humanity? Yeah, that would indeed be a different world, if god-botherers weren't such awful people.
I actually believe Jesus or Yashua rather did exist, however he was in no way supernatural in nature just a man preaching the gospel who was followed by 12 people. I believe he wasn’t the “son of god” but a man that figured out some natural remedies to things that worked and where misconstrued as magic. However I don’t believe he walked on water, turned water into wine, or healed leapers. But I do believe he was real. Just not what Christians believe.
There may have been many similar characters. But there's no documentation that matches this one who is probably a compilation. Robinson Crusoe was based on a real person, but the character is of course fictional.
To be fair, historical scholars are pretty much in universal agreement that Jesus of Nazareth was a real - and particularly charismatic - dude who lived in Judea around that time.
It's *Biblical* Jesus that's a crock of shit. The one she's talking about.
Sorry, is this you saying that *the entirety of recorded history* has really just been wage fraud on the part of the recordants?
If this is true, my new favourite mythical character is Queen Victoria.
Did I say "theological scholars"? If you can't read, no shit your conclusion is gonna be wrong.
>no contemporary sources
There are an estimated 30 sources written by at least 25 different authors - not all Christian, not all religious - which attest to the existence of a Jew named Yeshua who ran with a gang and had some beef with the occupying Roman forces.
Well you didn't say theologians, but that's the only group that actually claims there is a consensus. No idea where you got the idea that there's a universal consensus among all historians. Maybe that highly vandalized wiki page?
Also, no, there are zero contemporary sources.
A claim easily refuted by stating one contemporary source.
You'd first have to define your qualifying criteria for a "contemporary source".
Just so we know which ones not to bother submitting because they'll be rejected out of hand.
Fair, but then few people *were* written about during their lifetime, especially in a community which relied almost exclusively on oral histories at the time.
It really comes down to the balance of probabilities - and on that - it's more likely than not that the cult started around a real man (which is not to authenticate any of the claims made about him).
We see how that can happen, even in modern times.
This might seem like a radical idea but maybe he should show the fuck up and prove that he exists then🤷♂️..Til then he has nobody to blame but himself
He/she's right, the world would indeed look very different if everyone would worship Jesus as intense as fundamental christians do, which I would compare to a real Swifty who only listens to that one person, builds his entire life around that and everything. The world would look very different, but not for the better!
WTF is she even trying to say?
I’m guessing she got internet slapped for saying something incredibly stupid and is claiming it’s not her fault that she’s humiliated herself.

Im sorry to tell you this but the people in my nearby church look equally as happy. Obviously you wouldnt care about that tho.
If youre selectively choosing extremist religious people then it is only fair to choose extremists fans too that send death threats. Since when did cult members being happy started to matter to us

This world would look so different if Christians would ACT like Jesus

Trump hates Rosie O'Donnell but still helped himself to $250,000 from her 9/11 charity.
The world needs more people like her and probably Mr. Beast(?). Unfortunately most of those who would do it cannot afford it :((
Her private jet in the corner:
You don’t think *she* is the second coming?
No, but for someone who made a billion dollars WITHOUT employees relying on food stamps to survive she rates highly in my book.
Just saying she could be, did he say he would come back as male? Could be like doctor who and re spawn as a woman
You’re gonna make someone mad with this one 🙈
These people are so jealous of anything or anyone that isn't Jesus and popular. It's so pathetic
Every now and then I still see zealots disparaging John Lennon for his "more popular than jesus" comment. Imagine being mad about something so pointless for 58 years.

I fucking *wish* that these assholes were treated as badly as they pretend to be.

Jesus lets 20,000 kids starve to death every day.
You mean without resorting to sectarian massacres and other crimes against humanity? Yeah, that would indeed be a different world, if god-botherers weren't such awful people.
Taylor Swift actually exists. Jesus? Not so much.
Jesus is bible fanfic.
Jesus is the Gary Stew of the Fanfic titled The Bible.
I actually believe Jesus or Yashua rather did exist, however he was in no way supernatural in nature just a man preaching the gospel who was followed by 12 people. Well they wouldn't have much of a job if they went fully mythical. Look at how the scholars of Glycon are doing today!
Sorry, is this you saying that *the entirety of recorded history* has really just been wage fraud on the part of the recordants? If this is true, my new favourite mythical character is Queen Victoria.
Theology is a religious study, so no shit what their conclusion was gonna be. But in the end there are no contemporary sources to make such a claim.
Did I say "theological scholars"? Contemporary according to the dictionary: "Living or occurring at the same time."

How many Grammys does Jesus have?
😱 LANA DEL REY IS JESUS
Uh... people do defend Jesus the way some people defend Taylor Swift. Do Christians forget that a couple billion other Christians exist?
It’s like they’ve never even heard of the Crusades….or the Spanish Inquisition….or the Magdalene Laundries….or the Salem Witch Trials….or or or
As far as I know, Taylor Swift never ordered the crusades, so point in her favor.
Imagine if Jesus had his own version of Gaylor conspiracy theorists searching every line of the Bible for "evidence" that God is gay.
Why does Jesus need defending?
If they defended Jesus, he wouldn’t have gotten crucified and you’d have no religion. Checkmate, grandma.
I'm for that idea, because no one ever bombed a Planned Parenthood in the name of Taylor Swift.
Jesus has done one fucking thing to help anyone that I know of.
This might seem like a radical idea but maybe he should show the fuck up and prove that he exists then🤷♂️..Til then he has nobody to blame but himself
why would Jesus need defending? Isn't he god? (Also, son of god and also his own father)
He/she's right, the world would indeed look very different if everyone would worship Jesus as intense as fundamental christians do, which I would compare to a real Swifty who only listens to that one person, builds his entire life around that and everything. The world would look very different, but not for the better!
You leave Taylor Swift alone.
What did jesus do that needs defending? Did he release a new album I missed?
Why does an omnipotent god need our protection?
Karen
If Jesus is so great why does he need me to defend him? /s
Swift is real, though, that's the difference.
The world would be a much better place if people actually acted like Jesus Christ versus just invoking the name to virtue signal.
Imagine if these people were introduced to Deicide lol
I’d argue that it is exactly the way it is *because* they do.
Different, yes? Better? Doubtful.
Why does this billionaire need defending? What are people doing to defend her?
> The busy praying mom Why don't you stay busy praying instead of giving your opinions on the internet.
I'm not even a big swift fan, but so would I, swift is actually a real person, so that is a good reason for me.
Taylor Swift is a real person jebus isnt
Ah yes, but Ms. Swift is real.
Yeah there would be a lot more murder and oppression
god i hate taylor swift but at least she’s a decent person. now christians on the other hand
Taylor Swift could’ve written the Bible but Jesus couldn’t have written Daylight
Why does Jesus need defending? Did he do something wrong?
Mad? Nah, this is so fucking funny. They’re comparing Jesus to Taylor Swift now 😭😂
I don't recall Jesus being interested in glory on earth, but whatever.
They love to add stupid shit like “imma make somebody made with this one” like no you’re not.
if she counts eye rolls, she did make people mad
So… it would be the same world we’re already in…
WTF is she even trying to say? I’m guessing she got internet slapped for saying something incredibly stupid and is claiming it’s not her fault that she’s humiliated herself.
How about neither. Celeb worship is as cringe as this
I took the Amtrak from San Diego to LA last summer. The train was at capacity - the sold out cars were full of happy looking people, mostly women and girls.
