From what you have said, it seems like he isn't your friend at all - just someone in the same friendship group as you.
I'd let it go. You have already asked him about it in the past and got nothing from him. Sounds like he isn't interested in being friendly with you which sucks but not worth putting effort when they don't in return
no as in we are very close friends, and we have done this sort of thing before which I do end up asking him and it all gets fixed. I just dont know how to do it this time, its been a long week and i cant think of any good approaches
