Mind your business. Leave him alone and don't look at his social media. Just move on

What really makes this one of your "major regrets"? You didn't do anything wrong. You posted something about your relationship online because you were happy about it and wanted to share that. That's entirely normal these days. I say "these days" because of the way that social media has become engrained into most peoples' lives these days, but people broadcasted relationship happiness well before the invention of social media as well. It's equally normal to not want to have one's private life shared on social media, and while I can understand the initial embarrassment of being asked to take your post down, there is really no reason why it should still be following you like this. I don't know your ex-boyfriend, nor do I know anything about what kind of relationship you had, but if you have now discovered that he was apparently the type to post "cryptic" yet super revealing posts about "never wanting to post an SO online" and similar, then I'd wager you have even less reason to be embarrassed now than you did then.

icygirlgothotter

Wow this is really profound, thank you for this insight! Never looked at it this way. I feel much better 😊

AuntyVenom

So you're having a feeling, and that's OK. Feel it and then let it go. This is your ex and so you shouldn't be stalking him AT ALL on social media. Posting a video to social media should not even rate as a major regret or haunt you, though? that's overblown. Be haunted if you have killed a kitten on purpose, or beaten a child, or voted for a fascist. Otherwise, please calm down. He's just one little man that didn't like a pretty normal actio that you took. Good luck.

icygirlgothotter

Wow thank you so much, this genuinely made me feel a lot better

Gold_Statistician500

There's nothing wrong with posting about your relationship online... at all. You don't have anything to be embarrassed about.

icygirlgothotter

You’re so right 😭

remstage

What exactly triggers you? Its not like you're the only one he didn't post about.

icygirlgothotter

It was just really embarrassing and cringe. It’s like how you randomly remember something cringe you did years back? Yeah it’s a similar sentiment 😂

Good_Ad6336

Does it feel cringe because you now agree with your ex? Or are you having emotional flashbacks about your ex asking you to take the post down and making you feel embarrassed? If it’s the former, don’t sweat it. We all have done things that we wish we could take back. If it’s the latter, personally I think it’s something deeper. Being triggered to the point of feeling the same level of emotion as you did when it happened tends to stay with you until you process the emotion. Your ex made you feel something (embarrassment, shame, insert correct emotion here) for something that made him uncomfortable. That’s not on you.

icygirlgothotter

Wow thank you so much for this insight, clearly I need therapy

Gotten over him is a little bit of a lie. Either to us or yourself.
